His deal with Toronto was for $200k but he's classified as a rookie under the current CBA so he can only make the rookie max ($80k).  He's not willing to play for that amount so it's doubtful we ever see him up here.

That's seems unfair. He would be ineligible to win ROTY, but they can still call him a rookie to keep his salary down.

so basically we are starting the season with Bryant, Desjarlais, Couture, Neufeld and Hardrick as starters, and have Gray, Eli, Kolankowski and possibly Speller (all who have starter experience) battling for the back up spots...how can you not be pleased with that?

I read somewhere that Speller is expected to go to Toronto. We still have very good depth, though.

Fajardo more than likely doesn't get a MOP nod based on his statistics if every Western teams' starting QBs don't all get hurt at some point during the 2019 season.

I 100% agree with this point. Plus Harris' drug test.

    2019-Fajardo 4302 passing yards, 18 TD passes, 8 Int

    2017-Nichols 4472 passing ayrds, 28 TD passes, 8 Int

    Just saying

Maybe I misunderstood the argument. I'm saying I'd rather have Fajardo now.

  4. I would take Fajardo over Nichols. There's certainly no "Nichols derangement syndrome" for me. I liked him when he was here, and thought we could have won a Cup with him. He was never the beneficiary of defensive performances like Collaros got in the 2019 playoffs.

I know this is a Bomber board, but I'm surprised how many people don't just not like Fajardo, but think he's terrible. He had a very good season. Hopefully he's a one-hit wonder and doesn't do it again.

I'm such a CJOB nerd, I'm ecstatic for Kelly and the rest of the team over there. They'll never "degrade" the Bombers. Everything will fit, otherwise they wouldn't have made this move. Curious to see if they bring over the current radio PBP team (I'm not overly a fan of them) or use their own people. Kelly is a great hockey PBP but not sure he wants to be away from home as much as it would require. Likely have someone younger do it, I'd bet. Lots of options at any rate.

I'd like to see somebody new do it. Not a fan of Paul Edmonds.

  6. I think we should trade for Gourde from TB. We could get him for next to nothing b/c they have big cap problems, and imo he could be our 2nd line centre. He had 64 points two years ago when he was playing higher in their lineup.

We'd have him for the next five seasons. His cap hit is a little high, but not crazy, and it runs out when he's only 33.

Makes zero sense to take on that contract and let deMelo walk...

Provorov and Frost - I'd think about that one

I can't imagine Philly would consider trading Provorov.

I think Frost, one of Myers or Sanheim, and a pick (1st with Myers, 2nd with Sanheim) would be fair. Myers is a lefty, but we're not exactly loaded on that side of the ice either. It would work well if we got Demelo signed.

Please provide the names of people who quit the Blue Bombers because of Miller.... Noeller? blue_gold84? BigBlue204? JCon? can you guys tell me? I mean, it's obvious I need to learn who they are.

The old operations manager did. I found out later though that he's a **** too, so maybe that doesn't mean much lol. (I'm friends with his ex-wife)

Hopefully it wasn't a total sausage fest. Unless that's what you were into, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Lol, it was actually pretty shocking how many girls hung around the team. It's not a great environment to teach young men about respecting women.

I don't believe the story , it doesn't seem realistic to me.

There's almost nothing you could tell me happened in junior hockey that I would find unrealistic.

I played junior in the 90s, and I heard a lot of stories like this from guys I knew. I was lucky to be on a team with good leaders. We had the gross orgies and other weird sex stuff, but none of the abuse detailed in the article.

Such an amazing game, the roar when bolden picks off danny mac is the loudest I ever heard at the old stadium.

It was so much fun. I was still young, and we were all completely loaded in the student section. When Bolden got that int, the guy sitting behind me jumped up to celebrate and fell over my head and landed at my feet. He got up, high fived me, then climbed back up to his seat like nothing had happened...
