This makes me sad .... it's also envious seeing a team attack 30 yards down the field.....
Watching this gif in a loop , he has 2 guys wide open to dump off.... and 2 guys open down the field..... I dream of this.
The two short guys weren't going to be open for long. It was 2nd and long and they both had a Bomber above them around the first down marker. If they got the ball, they wouldn't have gotten a first without breaking a tackle. Those would be the kind of throws people get mad at Lapo for.
I have no explanation for how wide open the actual target was, though.

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure I saw a stat come up that strev actually throws to Harris more than Nichols
That can't be right. I'll check and report back...
Edit: it was closer than I thought, but Nichols averaged more attempts/gm to Harris than Streveler did.

Ppl think Collaros would survive a half of football with this oline? Lol
Wait, now we think our ol sucks?

Garbage. TOR said everyone was available. Brain trust went with the semi invalid Collaros so howd that work out?
Don't know yet, need to see how the playoffs go.

Almost every successful HC has had a great or great qbs playing for him as well as great players at other positions. I could give coaches names & the qbs they had playing for them but do I need to? So, I find that argument doesn't carry a lot of weight.
It does when you're comparing him to a guy who has coached in a tough division with average to poor qbs.

you don’t think Rick Campbell would be an instant upgrade - or mark Nelson, Constanza, Dyce etc
Campbell's success has come with very good qbs in a very bad division. Now he has very bad qbs in an improved division, and he looks lost. It would be interesting to see how he'd do with our roster.
Not sure why the other names should be considered "instant upgrades".
Edit: did you mean bringing the entire Ottawa coaching staff here under Campbell, or those guys as potential head coaches?

Where are these reports? I'd think that would be big news on any site if O'Shea turned down an extension.

TSN1290 morning show talked about it. Westwood is convinced he's gone. I'm not sure I disagree.

It's not like Streveler is prone to brain farts like spiking the ball behind himself to try and end a play...
Lol, that was one of the most "wtf" plays I've seen in a long time. Then the qb on the peewee team I coach did the same thing a few days later. He was getting sacked and tried to throw it away, but threw it 20 yards backwards...

When was the last time they tried to send Adams downfield in a one on one matchup?
Saturday afternoon when it was picked off in the endzone.

Or you know. Not see the field at all and theyll have given up 2 draft picks for no real reason at all.
We didn't give up two draft picks. We're moving down approx. 14 spots in the middle of the draft.

I know that James Franklin was available lol. But he's inept. Who else would you think was available. I don't think personally that i would have been worth a 1st round pick to get MBT for example but then you lose an asset that would be the key part of a potential trade for Masoli in the offseason. You don't give up a 1st just to give yourself a puncher's chance.
Masoli's a pending ufa.

I'm predicting neither one will get close to being a head coach again, especially Lapo. Campbell is a Maas level bonehead in-game and the way that team has turned on him this year is an epic meltdown we haven't seen in a long, long time. Like worse than Burke or Berry meltdowns here.
Those are three guys that will have a hard time getting another head coaching job (Lapo, Campbell, Maas), especially as the GM ranks turn over to new eyes.
I don't think Campbell will take long to find a new job if he gets fired. He had a lot of successful years in Ottawa. I think most will view this season as the GM's fault.

I'd be really nervous to take on Collaros... I don't want to see a QB die wearing a BB jersey (or any jersey for that matter)... please Zach, for the sake of your health, just retire....
This seems a little dramatic...

Yup but it's a loser mentality (i.e., best thing to happen would be to finish last) for future gain the way it was written. Not my cup of tea when it comes to living in the moment in competitive sport.
It definitely sucks for the fanbase when a team does that. Pittsburgh nearly lost their franchise both times they tanked for a superstar. Luckily for them it worked out as the best case scenario both times.

Read Ian Mendes article entitled 'One more awful season is exactly what the Sens need'.
Really frustrating to read for me and made me yell at the clouds. He argues Sens need that 1st pick for their final piece of rebuild. I get the logic somewhat but getting first round draft picks doesn't guarantee anything, see Edmonton Oilers.
Doesn't guarantee anything, but it really hopes if your gm picks wisely. Blackhawks and Pens are two great examples. Reilly, Marner, & Matthews are all top five picks for the Leafs, and they're a legit contender. Avalanche are built around high draft picks, etc.

Mostly agree. Though I think/hope that ott is gonna go all in on Masoli. Itll be interesting to see if jennings and davis ever hold a clipboard again in this league after this year. Im expecting not.
Davis is good enough to be a backup. Jennings might be done.

If I follow your logic, the Als would have kept Sherman and the Argos should keep Chamblin and the Lions should keep their head coach as well.
Those coaches fit the "cardboard box" part of the analogy, so there's no real threat of being worse off.

I'm with you on this. He played 7 years of professional ball. Even if he averaged $100k a year (he likely made more then that) he should have been set for life. I understand with all the procedures and medical bills it's a lot of money but he isnt the first person this has ever happened too. It's sad to see though.
Making $100k/yr for seven years doesn't make you set for life.

Contract seems pretty fair, given how much the qb payscale changed this past offseason. I would expect Evans to get around the same. I know he's not a pending fa, but I think he gets extended in the offseason. I bet Arbuckle's 7 game stint as a starter will get him somewhere between $350-400k.
BLM and Reilly blew up the qb payscale. Trying to reverse that would likely see a team end up with the least wanted qb of who's available.
