  1. You make it sound like he was always away scouting which isn't true. He was at every practice according to Penton. And most teams have others who look after those things as well so I don't know what your point is. you haven't noticed what the point is with every post? Everything he posts is trolltastic.
  2. which is what leads believability to the fact that he was looking to go home all along and was simply using the Bombers to get as much money from the Riders as possible.
  3. Penton made a good point, you can control offering more $ and not saying we're going to switch your position. However if position was such a big deal Labatte should have brought that up in negotiations as well, he never did that. we can't know that. Yeah we can, it was directly from him in an article on it shortly after it happened.

  5. Good question. I do think that preferences for leaving to go elsewhere is always overidden by the amount of $$ being paid. People go a long way to work from home to make more money. I think if Mack had offered more then maybe Labatte would have stayed. Labatte's girlfriend could have moved to Winnipeg. Show Me The Money. I think it came down to that but it's me speculating. ok so what if the Bombers offer more, but the Riders also offer more too? Where do you draw the line for money?
  6. No need to take chances when you're only down by 6...hope he's learned something... well you can understand why he would feel he needed to take chances though, at that point everyone knew that the defense had no hope of stopping the riders. punt and it's a long time killing drive for more rider points. This team is just so ****** mentally. They can't deal with any sort of adversity.
  7. If one of the bombers qbs tossed 4 ints we'd have them hanging in the town square! It's the double standard with regards to qbs across the league from Bomber fans that always kills me.
  8. I think you're just reading way too much into it. Was pretty much just frustration at having lost a guy like that.
  9. Doug Brown on the post game on CJOB seemed to have a pretty good analysis of what went on with Goltz, basically talking about how he doesn't know what he can and can't get away with in those situations yet.
  10. yup I listened to it
  11. why don't you two just get a room already? Really seems like kind of a petty and useless argument.
  12. ahh you're over blowing what they were saying.
  13. The problem is that we have it from Labattes own mouth that he didn't tell the Bombers that he didn't want to play centre. Yeah they could have offered him a ton more money... but the riders likely would have offered more as well and then there's still the home factor as well as Labatte not stating his wishes to the Bombers regarding position. Look I know you love to jump all over what the past management did, but Labatte seemed very keen to go to Saskatchewan and it's hard to fight that.
  14. yeah and he's the biggest homer going. tried to compare sheets to leo lewis and chamblin to bud grant, disgusting.
  15. Ugh Bob Irving why do you have to put that clown Carm Carteri on CJOB? You're better than that.
  16. I'm not even talking about that, just a guy who obviously had a great understanding of the game and a knack for making a play when it was needed. Sort of a go to guy for the team. I dunno just seems like they don't have that crutch or something, among other problems.
  17. quiet, let us all dream of a triumphant return to Winnipeg to lead the Bombers out of the wilderness and to glory.
  18. oh sure there's lots of veterans, but there's no one with the cred that SImon has. I'm not saying it's all that, just that it seems like maybe they're missing some of what he brought.
  19. Ray had the shits of an o-line in Edmonton and did OK too you know. True & he's been banged up more than once on that same shoulder. He separated &/or dislocated his throwing shoulder a couple of years back as I recall. yeah he's taken a real beating especially in those last few years in Edmonton, not really unlike what happened to Khari Jones.
  20. Starts & ends with their offensive line just like us. Difference being they have a lot more talent than the Bombers at the skill positions on offense & a much better linebacking & secondary than we do. I was wondering if they don't miss that veteran presence that Geroy brought regardless of him slowing down in ability.

  22. I might be remembering wrong but it seems to me that when that trade happened there was a lot of "Ray was on the block?" sentiment going around the CFL at the time so it seems unlikely that Tillman would have been shopping him around to everyone, the CFL can't keep secrets like that.
  23. something is missing from the BC offense for sure.
  24. Anything to get Khari back in Winnipeg and out of that green hell hole he's in now. Some things just ain't right.
  25. We have nothing to lose, except that we might keep on losing. I don't think people have anything against Walters per se, they just want to the Bombers to hire someone with a proven track record. That's pretty much my line of thought, nothing against Walters but would rather get someone with more experience at this juncture. Keep Walters as an AGM by all means but for now let's make the safe play.
