you don't have to hire the interm guy the next year, that's just a thing that the bombers do cause they're cheap and lazy. at this point losing Burke is in my mind addition by subtraction. The team is already a mess and it was a mess from the get go. They're rolling over and dying every week anyway things won't get worse.

Do you really think so? Jim Daley in '05 had a much better QB (Glenn) than anything Burke has right now. That '05 team was abysmal. and what's this team? I honestly think Burke is the worst head coach I've ever seen on this team.

Exactly, it's not a fair evaluation for the players when the coaching is this poor.

So you were all fired up to turf the GM which actually does do nothing to fire during the season but you think it's best to wait to fire the head coach who has seen the team roll over and die on him more often than not? How does that make sense?

and Boatman is one of those players cut adrift from another team that people scream they wanted Mack to sign too. Honestly though I want to see what the o-line looks like with a different guy coaching them. As much as I can tell from watching on TV I haven't seen DelMonaco make anyone better in that position in his time here.

who's judging the guy based on what happened in that one game with Winnipeg? The guy has a pretty sizable body of work in the CFL. He was OC for one of Calvillos worst years in Montreal, the offense he ran in Saskatchewan wasn't anything to be concerned about... He's not the kind of coach you go out of your way to keep. If you have nothing else he might serve as a stop gap but we can do better for next year.

But I'm sure that Ritchie had some crazy contract - like if he had a winning season, he got an automatic extension - that drove Bauer nuts.... that's why when we had a slow start, Bauer pounced... am I wrong? I think it was just that if in the first few years he hit a certain amount of wins an extension kicked it, it wasn't something in perpetuity or anything. Bauer jumped because Ritchie was hired before Bauer got there and they were two stubborn guys who were clashing.

Yeah the reason Bauer and Ritchie were at odds cause Dave Ritchie was a stubborn old cuss who wanted to run the team his way... and Lyle Bauer is a stubborn old cuss who wanted the team run his way.

But that was also the logic behind Lapo hiring Reed, Walters, Barresi, etc... good working relationship - except somewhere at some point you need support staff with real CFL experience at their position - Lapo's crew had CFL exp but all of them got promotions at once... so all were learning together, it just doesn't work Burke did pretty much exactly the same thing... except with less CFL exp... just can't figure out how we didn't learn... Lapo was never hands off with the offense. And most of us on the message boards wanted to Lapo to be more hands off with the O. Now we want our current HC to be MORE INVOLVED with the D. Dunno, the assumption Bomber fans always make seems to be 'the guy doing it doesn't know what he's doing' well one of the reasons for that is that the D sucks but Burke has proven he can run a good one. Lapo never did that here with the offense. Plus Burke has said he doesn't know anything about offense so it stands to reason that he should then focus on what he does know.

That's the "we're really really sorry you have to polish this turd all the time" bonus.

Unfortunately I think the #1 issue for the team has been Burke, but due to circumstances he's sort of immune to being fired.

Burke is in all out saving his own ass mode right now but it's too late the damage is done. HIs record as a head coach is abysmal he's got to go big contract or not. I don't think there is any amount of talent that would make Burke a good head coach at this point in time.

Creehan has earned it but so has Burke. I don't expect them to have the balls to fire any more people though, they're running out of coaches period but right now if they gutted the coaching staff save for Craig Dickenson I wouldn't care one bit.

Burke has to go and the sooner the better. when you try and pull a player off the field and he refuses and then you don't even bench the player for the rest of the game that's just unacceptable behaviour. The team isn't listening to Burke so why are we letting this persist? I agree Burke has to go...but I would rather have a player who knows he had made a bad mistake, and who wants to stay on the field and correct it, and you'll notice he did not go offside for the rest of the game, than someone who has given up. This is not a normal situation, the team is playing bad and it is effecting EVERYONE!. So I say give Hall a break in this case, he will get his lecture after the game. Look Hall might be the best player on the team, but the coaches word should be law. You don't listen there has to be consequences, especially when the team is 1-7. I have no faith that Burke ever had this team in control (going back to last year and the terrible terrible games they played, continuing this year) so it's all part of the same problem. Burke is the worst head coach this team has had since I've been following them, yes even worse than Daley or Reinbold. He's got way more talent to work with than either of those two had and he's doing far less with it.
