  1. I want the guy who led the offense to improvements last season and won some games. In case you haven't noticed the offense has been abysmal this season and we haven't won games. Hee hee - what short memories we all have. The offense was abysmal last season too. By your logic we should be starting Buck right now, because he won as many games as Elliott and would have had similar offensive outputs if he had been able to play in that home game where we shredded the Ti-Cats D and Elliott won player of the week. We could have started Kenny Ploen in that game at QB with Dieter Brock backing him up and won that game. but you remember all the talk in the offseason about how Crowtons offense came into it's own and the numbers backed that up and all that stuff? That's not lies, there were several games where Elliott did move the offense until the red zone when some interceptions cropped up, that's something no one else has been able to accomplish in this offense, stringing drives together. Yeah there weren't a lot of wins, but the offense did improve with the guy. He was the best we had last year and he'd be the best we had this year were he still on the roster.

  3. God I was angry at that. Sometimes they just seem to try and out think themselves.
  4. He's still shown more than any qb we have on the roster currently. shown more propensity to throw INT's in the red zone, and not listen to the coaches. In any event, these "what if" discussions just go in circles (see Reilly, Mike) so let's just agree to disagree here. I liked Elliott too, but realized that he was just another "flash in the pan" QB like so many we've had in the past, to be mentioned now only in the same breath as Troy Kopp or Jay Walker. Hall and Goltz and PIerce are all throwing INTs as well, difference is that Elliott was able to win games with these same players and put up a couple POW calibre games. All those improved stats from the offense last season came with Elliott in there primarily... This isn't about saying Elliott is the greatest thing since Khari, but I would have a hell of a lot more faith in the teams ability to win if he was in there because he showed he could do it already.
  5. worth pointing out ... he's never done it when we're losing I don't think it matters. The Riders were jumping around like ******* after every play, the game was close and I like to see the fire from the team when they score. Let em do their little celebrations. Rather have guys who are pumped up to score than emotionless robots. There's too little passion on this team to start with, we shouldn't be killing the bit that does exist.

  7. Sounds like a typical NDP policy. Forget the most qualified, get someone local to do it.
  8. Sign him quick! cut any qb on the roster to make it happen. Of course Burke doesn't like Elliott so it's not going to happen, sigh.
  9. I could not believe when all of a sudden out of nowhere Goltz little TD thing became a huge controversy... He's been doing that since the get go and it never mattered one bit before, have we really run out of things to ***** about that we gotta go for what the young qb does when he scores? Cause I'm telling you right now there are a LOT of better things to ***** about with this team.
  10. That is incorrect. Mack made moves, he just preferred to bring in rookies than cast offs. The number of moves isn't going to be any different, just the source of players that's changing. You have a great career as a spin doctor... Obama could use your help right now. I really did miss my calling.
  11. That picture creeps me the **** out
  12. we sign a guy who lost his 3rd string job? Yeah those coaches in Sask really musta loved the guy, cut him and everything.
  13. yeah I sat there watching Montreal and Toronto bumble through that game and was just pounding the table at how frustrating it is that the Bombers had to pick this year to suck so hard. The road to the Grey Cup is open in the East, and we're so weak we can't even board the bus or start the car. You know what's just as bad? watching all these other poor teams fall ass backwards into wins while the Bombers can't even get that far! Man this is the worst season I've ever had the misfortune of watching.
  14. I think this team is in such a huge mess that they need to spend money whether they have it or not in order to get this franchise back on track. Unless, for whatever reason, they want to role the dice again on another season in order to save money. But will they save money if people don't buy tickets? I'm not saying Walters is not going to be the next big GM, but is the organization willing to chance this? People are already screaming for blood if you listen to the post game shows and read the forums. People are tired of seeing this team lose. Do we really want to chance another new GM? Are we really willing to go through another season just to "try him out"? His tryout is now, and if he fails, put him back to his old position and get someone who can turn this team around. Unfortunatley I don't like viewing the remainder of this season as a tryout for Walters because there's really not a hell of a lot he can prove in that limited time. Most of a GMs work is done in the offseasons so if we're giving Walters a tryout you basically need to use next year as well. I would be completely fine keeping him around as AGM and letting him get some more experience before giving him the role but I have no tolerance for another cheap cost saving experiment from the Bombers. Identify who the absolute best candidate out there is and do what it takes to hire them.
  15. Also could be called polishing a turd.

  17. Toronto without Ray is not nearly as dangerous a team.
  18. that and the argos without Ricky Ray aren't all that terrifying of a team.
  19. why don't we tell our current dbs that this is the goal? That way when they fail they will actually be in tight coverage.
  20. Rottier was with Hamilton originally right? It would all make sense..... just saying.
  21. would be something I'd look into anyway. If our RT is going to suck let's get an american inside and see if he can't be a bit of spark.
  22. It's the Calgary sports media in a nut shell. Everything Calgary is great everything else is laughable. It spills over to the fans and as a result Southern Alberta fans are insufferable.
  23. Hey now, Creehan was a real good linebacker coach, there's no issues with him getting the DC job in Hamilton because as a positional coach he was successful so he took the next step. He failed at that next step but that doesn't mean hiring him for it was completely ridiculous.
  24. Contrary to popular belief Mack isn't the ***** who struggles to tie his shoes that everyone seems to be painting him as since he's been fired. Makes a hell of a scapegoat though.
  25. and he's gone in there against 3 of the toughest teams in the league as well. No cream puffs for him to play against. Just blows the mind that he's had the most productive performances of the qbs against the toughest test yet Burke still won't let him ride it out for a few games.
