  1. They're cooling off. They're winless in their last three games.
  2. 3a. Pavs kinda got his revenge already, he beat the Blues 2-1 a couple weeks ago, in a shootout no less. 3b. Since his blueline whiff, Pavs has been on a mission, going 8-2 with a 1.88 GAA, a .937 save percentage, and 2 shutouts.
  3. We're within striking distance of Minne -- and they have a tougher schedule than we do, playing all three Central Division leaders.
  4. Pavs. There is no way you take him off the ice right now.
  5. First reaction to Kashif: his name is great nickname fodder. Second reaction: imagining Rod Black screaming "Kashif! Cashes In!" after he scores a TD.
  6. Chicago does us a solid and we get to spend another day in a playoff spot...
  7. under the present roster rules there's no special advantage to rostering a Canadian QB, so there's no point in drafting him unless you think he's got a shot at winning a job in training camp. Like for us, I'd only want to see us draft Yantz if we thought he could legitimately unseat Portis, Marve, or Brohm. (I have no idea how good Yantz is ... maybe he could.)
  8. With Perrault back and Little imminent, that's a seriously deep set of forwards we'll be rolling out there.
  9. Whoever survives this wild card marathon is going to put a scare in the west's top teams -- every marginal playoff team in the west is playing great right now, while the division leaders are cooling off a bit.
  10. Leeman was involved in one of the worst trades in hockey history, being the principle asset that Calgary received in exchange for Doug Gilmour. That trade spelled the final death for the great Calgary run of the eighties.
  11. It's amazing how the West's wildcard race is running in lockstep: Calgary, Minnesota, LA, and the Jets all have 14 points over the last 10 games. Vancouver has 13 points and Chicago 15. No one's made up any ground in March.
  12. Goals from Stafford, Myers, Stempniak -- nice work, Chevy.
  13. It's inspired by an actual icelandic saga. It's utterly gorgeous (even if they do lean on the blue filter a little bit) and plotwise it is much simpler than Game of Thrones. The whole show revolves around a Viking jarl named Ragnar Lothbrok, a guy with a vision for his people and in each season different people come at him.
  14. Never been sold on Pav as our starter, but I gotta say I love a redemption story, and he's been money since that fluky goal. Go Pav!
  15. Back in the Jets 1.0 days, during the 1990 playoffs heartbreak, I remember a RANFORD chant that the organist joined in on.
  16. I hate Orange County with the fury of a thousand burning suns, but yeah, go Ducks. Speaking of Vancouver goalies, why do their tailors leave the umlaut off Eddie Läck's namebar? Is it too metal?
  17. The most recent episode was outstanding and had the best moment in the series.
  18. Yeah, job 1 has got to be getting the Argos situation sorted out. Would love to see a CFL renaissance there.
  19. Not related to the wild card race ... but Edmonton is up over Toronto 4-0 just over halfway through the first period. #tank #tank #tank #lolnotheyjustsuck
  20. There is a lot of hockey left to be played you guys.
  21. We're watching Vikings and Better Call Saul right now. Vikings is pretty good. Better Call Saul is okay, but it's getting a ton of Breaking Bad goodwill from me.
  22. There are lots of busy two-tenant NBA/NHL arenas, and you'd figure it'd be easier for an arena to host two hockey teams than a hockey & basketball team because you don't have to spend time and money continuously re-laying out the basketball floor.
  23. This might be just what we need. Every time we've faced big injuries the team has rallied. So whenever I see someone comment "if we have our healthiest lineup in the playoffs" I actually kinda hope we don't.
  24. The Greatest CFL Nicknames (as of 1995) https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/rec.sport.football.pro/tNuC5Pw8N_4 The old Ottawa Roughriders had the best QB names. Prince McJunkins. Julius Caesar Watts. And the Keye and Peele sketch where they're in whiteface and being questioned by the Gestapo is ******* hilarious.
  25. 18 games left and we need ~16 points to get to the playoffs. It looks promising for us, but there's much work left to be done.
