  1. My wife and I went to an Ethiopian restaurant in the neighborhood the other day. There were tons of Somalis in there and they all wanted to talk to us about Donald Trump. They're scared of him.
  2. Preseason's gonna be pretty vanilla in terms of schemes, though, right? Aren't they holding back the special sauce for the regular season?
  3. I'm pumped for: - The bombers looking awesome in their new duds! Except I'll be listening to the radio stream so I'll just have to imagine it. - Waggoner and Loffler taking reps - Carlos Anderson tearing up the field. Seriously rooting for this guy. - Macho Harris playing himself out of the MBB whipping boy role. - Punting. Billy Pavs has a big leg but does he have Medlock's precision? - Hoping for a flash from the bottom two QBs and hope it's not a Marve-type illusion.
  4. 11 and 85 is where the line is for me.
  5. Thanks bigg jay, I'll give that one a shot.
  6. Checked out Wild Bill's thing, the trial didn't work for me because the kodi plugin is buggy and the trial expired before I could really debug it. Took a tour of other Kodi gray-market plugins -- best I found was a really laggy TSN stream. Gonna try to borrow some friends' cable credentials to watch on ESPN3 I guess. Also, not a soccerr fan but damn you gotta respect those guys' conditioning. A soccer game is basically a half-marathon of interval training. Just thinking about that makes me puke. So I don't hate on the futbols.
  7. Nichols should've gotten two more wins last year, in Edmonton and Calgary but for some hard-luck placekicking that I'm sure everyone remembers. Nichols and Crompton seem like they fill pretty much the same role. They're not gonna sling it all over the field and blow up the league, but they can play clean and get wins if the rest of your house is in order. They're good guys to have around as backups on winning teams, basically the bottom tier of players who should ever start a game in the CFL. Didn't Nichols have a pretty great set of wheels before he had that massive injury a few years ago? Back when he and Reilly were head-to-head for the Eskies' starting job?
  8. Welcome Kirk! With Cole and Richardson being Corney's buddies on the DL I bet we'll see some stuff in his journal about their situations.
  9. Corney's training camp journal is a great read. He's a pretty good writer and it's really interesting to read his self-evaluation and the hip flip technique he's trying to master. Also cool to see the DL who are competing for jobs helping each other out. Must be a totally weird dynamic, you want to be a good team guy and help out the rookies, but those rookies are the guys who are maybe going to take your job. and holy hell, just reading about Ian Wild's hamstring exercise and the one-armed pushup contest made me sore. And on top of two-a-days, Corney is lifting. These guys are freaks.
  10. Jones publicly negotiating with JSJ through Hardaway and Rod Pedersen. That right there is a brutal game of telephone. Real interested to see who blinks first. Have there been any other cfl training camp holdouts that compare to this?
  11. Oh hell yeah, that faire du bruit thing sounds awful on TV. Strangely, live it's not so overpoweringly loud. I was expecting to get blasted out of my seat by it but it was just above the background of the crowd.
  12. Okay. Say it's 2008 in an alternate universe and you're starting up the expansion Nipigon CFL Horseflies and you can draft any one CFL receiver for your team. Also, you have perfect knowledge of how all those receivers played in our universe through 2015. Who would you take?
  13. Wow, some dude is straight-up selling iptv services out of his game store in Winnipeg? That is exactly what I need! How good is his service?
  14. No way we can reliably start three Canadian hogs with only six candidates -- especially with one being injury prone and two being super raw draft choices.
  15. Can anyone recommend a solid kodi plugin for TSN? I've had super mixed results with all the ones I've tried and ESPN3 isn't on my ISP so I pretty much have to rely on the gray market for CFL. I am really hoping that the league follows up on the Grey Cup thing from last year and broadcasts the entire regular season live on Youtube outside of Canada and the USA. Then all I need is a VPN and I'm good.
  16. Let's see, do I want the perennial 1000-yard man who plays like Brian Kelly and who has been basically the best receiver in the CFL for the past six or so years (give or take an S.J. Green) Or do I want the young up-and-comer who hit nearly 1000 yards with Brett Smith as his QB of record for most of the season and who plays like a young Brian Kelly? And who is going to be a great one for years and years? Trick question. I will take them both! Watching old games the other day, was shocked at how Brian Kelly resembled Dressler ... a little howdy-doody looking dude who does nothing but get open and catch TDs.
  17. Hey, let's not knock a guy for shedding a few tears when an entire year of rehab goes up in smoke, twice.
  18. Is it time to retire this thread and start an "Around the League Training Camp Discussion" thread? Because it ain't the offseason anymore! woot!
  19. Would love to have Henoc back. All players are mercenaries, no use in pretending otherwise. I know nothing about agenting or managing a football team, but I wonder if he's waiting to be a midseason desperation signing.
  20. Glad to see Carlos Anderson back. He had some raw luck last year... Weird to look at the roster and see him as the only import RB in camp.
  21. yeah **** cancer. Sometimes on roadtrips my American wife and I will wind up listening to a bunch of Hip and I get to explain all the Canadianisms in it: why 1972 was a big year, the FLQ murders, Bobcaygeon, etc.
  22. And then the safety would start cheating down on Pop or House ... and Murphy or Boyd would take one to the endzone. Oh for 1984, when we started eight Canadians on O and still skunked the league. We had the highest-scoring offence in the country by sixty points.
  23. Definitely can't begrudge Denmark for any parting shots at the Bombers. The guy was here for five years and played with ten different quarterbacks, with 3-5 of those QBs being complete no-hopers.
  24. If it weren't for Denmark, Justin Goltz and Brian Brohm would have zero Bomber career highlights. Which kinda says it all. The one year that Denmark had a bona fide CFL passer for most of the games, he hit 1000 yards. Good luck to him, he was one of the few bright lights in a bunch of dismal seasons and I wish there was some way we could've kept him in Blue even after signing Smith and Dressler.
  25. Doug Brown was right. Blue is for jerseys. Never for pants.
