    One more little thing, Parking:

I have settled on Park  N ' Ride but last week decided to drive straight to the game, don't ask me why. (it had something to do with getting a pizza to go). I got a spot very close to the stadium just over the hill opposite the east entrance. I was surprised at the $20 bill I handed over for the privilege but still I was inside the stadium gates in no time at all.

Leaving was another matter. We were literally a few hundred feet from University Crescent but had to follow the flow of traffic as directed by the gates-keepers. It took over 40 minutes to get onto University Crescent (and then just 3 minutes to get to Pembina Hwy) ....

Is exit traffic always that bad? Is there a better faster place to park and exit?

It was a funny way to spend $20 when I could have had a beer or two instead. Any suggestions should I ever skip the Park  N ' Ride again?

The closer the lot you park in, the longer it will take to get out.  That's the reality of it right now unfortunately.   This goes for "I" lot, where I believe you parked, as well as U lot and VIP parking on the footprint.  I tell people ahead of time that if you will be in a hurry to get out at the end of the game, to park in "Q" lot or even better, save yourself $10 and park in the Value lot.  Those are the best options from what I have heard that will get you out the quickest.

**For everyone reading this, there is an exit plan in place after every game in order to help keep things organized and flowing as best as possible.  There is no easy option.  Our goal this season has been to have EVERY lot emptied within 45 minutes after the game, and so far so good.  This may seem like a long time for some people, but it is the new normal and still way faster than pretty much any stadium in the NFL.**

Okay, and they did that last year but they ended up looking ridiculous after Carter's appeal takes forever and results in a one-game suspension (if I remember right).

I agree with your approach but maybe they feel this is a CBA negotiating thing and that their hands are tied.

Ridiculous then?  A lot of people think they look ridiculous now.  This decision is way more black and white than anything I have seen in a long time.

An appeal will go through arbitration, and if Carters appeal was rejected (which it was) there's no doubt Hill's would be too.

If the appeal takes a while, it's because of the process with the independent arbitrator and has nothing to do with what the league does or doesn't do.

    Scenarios:

One-game suspension and Hill does not appeal.

    or

Two-game suspension and Hill does appeal, like the Carter gong show of last season.

Which is better for league? What if the CFL didn't think it could win an appeal on a two-game suspension?

Depends on who the CFL wants to think is in control in this situation.  Despite whether or not the CFL thinks it could win an appeal, it should still be trying to set the precedent.  Who is supposed to be in the driver's seat here?

Never base your actions on what you think might happen. Do what's right for the situation, regardless.

ALSO, the Carter incident from last season wasn't the same situation.  Aggressive and threatening behaviour could be argued and even the contact could be looked as somewhat incidental.  Hill's was as blatant as it could be.

I don't condone any kind of physical contact on an official first and foremost.  That said I can be a little sympathetic to the hamilton players who were having a close game gifted to the opposition with REALLY brutal calls one after the other after the other,  finally losing his cool in a game most guys are playing full tilt emotionally. I'm good with the punishment

They way you play and the how the referees have called the game thus far should have nothing to do with the suspension.  1 game is not enough.  The way I look at it, it should be at least one game for any type of non-incidental contact on an official.  The fact that Hill did it in a deliberate and threatening way, should warrant at least 2 if not 3 games.

It's all based on the honour system, but at the end of the day, I think it's a win-win for the Bombers.  Even if all 5000-6000 cars parked on campus called in to complain, that means guaranteed sellout for the following game.  Getting that many fans in the stands increases concession revenue, and I'm sure they've done the math that they come out way ahead that way.

There are no where near 5000-6000 cars parked on campus for a game.

Just to add as well about the guarantee.  The message behind it is that we are confident we have improved traffic flow getting off campus.  The guarantee to fans however covers everything from your drive home, even if your delay has nothing to do with getting off campus.

From a fan standpoint, I expected to be blown away by the new Mosaic and I wasn't. It's a beautiful stadium, but all things equal, my personal preference is ours. Could just be that certain things are incomplete, but a big thing for me is that the concourse is entirely closed off for the most part and it's impossible to watch the game while you go get a drink. No screens in the concourse either.

The walkways also feel super narrow and the seats feel ridiculously cheap.

Lots of leg room, Pils Country looks like a blast and I can't wait to be there for the LDC, the overall stadium looks great but there are reasons I prefer ours.

You nailed it on most of the things I would have said.  I would be shocked if they aren't replacing those seats in 5 years.

New Mosaic is a nice shell, but the inner workings need some work.

  8. WINNIPEG, MB., July 4, 2017 –   The Canadian Football League announced Tuesday that Bombers receiver Weston Dressler has been named a Shaw CFL Top Performer for Week 2.  Dressler scored two touchdowns in under a minute in the third quarter Saturday evening in Regina, helping lead the Bombers to a 43-40 victory. His 87-yard touchdown reception was the longest of his ten-year CFL career. He finished the night with six catches for 124 yards and two majors, while also recording one rush for another 22 yards.

  9. As always, I wanted to get you guys in the know with some new things we are launching this season for some further fan engagement.

    Away Game 50/50

A first in the CFL, Manitobans can now buy 50/50 tickets online during Bomber away games. The raffle will open 48 hours before the game date and will close at 11:59pm the night of the game. To purchase tickets, fans can visit www.bluebombers.com/5050  and select away game 50/50 tickets. You can also find all rules and regulations here including raffle timelines. Keep an eye out for an email tomorrow being sent to season ticket members.

    Bomber Fan Zone

A new platform has been developed to replace the Fan Zone from last year. Bomber Fan Zone is a new fan engagement platform where fans can gain ‘yards’ for interacting with the Bombers in different ways like purchasing gear from the Bombers Store, reading articles on the website, attending games, etc..  These yards can then be redeemed for different prizes like entries into contests, signed photos, or pregame Sideline Experiences. Fans can signup for Bombers Fan Zone here: http://fanzone.bluebombers.com. This will be promoted alongside the away game 50/50 as it contains a game day predictor game where fans can guess the outcome of the game to earn yards.
