First, I do agree he should be on the roster.

Second, he is not sitting at the expense of an older player (unless you feel he should be starting - which is crazy). He is sitting because MOS seems to value other positions more.

Third, he hasn't really proved his abilities on the field. Any time he has started, he's mostly been a non-factor.

He made an impact in the first few weeks, and he sealed the win with a sack against Hamilton(?), showing impressive individual athleticism. However, it appears he might be deficient in one aspect of his game, potentially struggling in run defense.

In years past we ran 3 American DEs, so someone else, likely aged, took that spot. And our d-line has suffered from this decision.

IF BA can't go could Parker be considered at S, he seems to be physical and fast....no idea about the other tangibles.

Put Parker or Cole in that position. These upcoming two games should serve as auditions for some of our depth players like them, Eli, Dobson, Haba, and BOLO, to determine if they can step up and secure full-time roles for next season.

Walters said before this season started that they deserved the chance to run it back. They are getting that chance.

And despite what some say (And I've complained as much as anyone about certain things), they've had a great season. I'm sure next season, we'll see a few different moves.

Did he actually say that? Can you p provide a link that quotes him? In professional sports, that kind of talk is weak. Your opponents work incredibly hard to improve every year, and if you're not participating in that race, as we've seen this year, it's a problem.

Hardrick and Bryant haven’t been healthy late in the season since 19. One at worst has to move into guard and we need a younger tackle. Gray and kola haven’t worked out and nuef is past it. Thomas is soo far past it it’s not even funny. Jeffcoat can’t play half a season and is in the top handful of des. Biggie is only situationally effective. He can’t pass rush can’t get off blocks and can’t scrape to the ball. Rose and ba haven’t been the same in a long time either.
Willy needs a guy off the other edge and inside who can get consistent pressure. He isn’t a guy who does that him self. He has more time in him and jj has use but not as a top 3 in reps on the dl.

in general our ni depth is the worst it’s been since before 19. We have few guys who can contribute any thing to o or d and the teams specialists we’ve been drafting for years have amounted to very little. We have no guy who is the next miller. How many nis do we have at the skill positions that could start in this league?

I appreciate you sharing this. If you've been objectively watching our games this year, all the points you've made are undeniably evident. The level of denial, optimism, and unwavering loyalty in the responses to your post is truly astonishing.

Honestly they need to bring in some new recruits who can push older guys down the lineup. That never happened this past season.

You're speaking the truth here. It does make you wonder if we've lost some scouts in recent years. Apart from Schoen, our recruitment efforts seem to have fallen short, and the lack of depth on our gameday rosters is a clear indicator of this.

Elaborate. Tell me what players, should we keep them, would have the effect of turning us into a fringe playoff team in a single offseason. Stanley Bryant? Still the best OT in the game. JeMarcus Hardrick? Play has dropped off a tiny bit but again one of the best OTs in the game. Pat Neufeld? Not his best season but better than half the starters in the league at his position. Adam Bighill? Certainly not MODP calibre anymore and probably our most pressing need to replace but won't cost us 3-4 victories. Brandon Alexander? Again not playing up to his past play but has been solid. Mike Miller? Hasn't played this year. The Jeffs? One could argue about their salary impact but both are still very good DE's.

Yea...I guess I'm just not seeing it. I am sure that we will move on from a couple guys on this list or they will choose to retire, but really all could go another year if we couldn't find a suitable replacement. However, I do agree that some roster turnover is probably necessary this offseason to maintain our Grey Cup favorite status but we are not in any sort of dire predicament either.

Your strong bias towards the blue team is quite evident in this post.

It's clear that our team is displaying signs of aging this year, and I anticipate significant departures during the offseason to lower the average age and offload veteran salaries of several players you've mentioned.

  6. They should consider implementing some kind of flag cannon, maybe even repurposing a t-shirt cannon, so that fans in the stands are immediately aware when the booth makes a call. Currently, there's no communication within the stadium, which can lead to confusion for in-person fans who have no clue what's happening, why the game stopped, or why the refs are moving the ball.

I could offer something....but why...too many dbags here who will make 13yr old spoiled teenage boy comments...u can have Osh smug comment on it

So true! It's becoming very tiresome that any opinion or comment contrary to the opinionated personal views of a few passionate posters leads to ad hominem attacks and immature personal insults. There's a wealth of potential for meaningful, intelligent discussions that gets pushed to the sidelines every week because it irrationally offends a select subgroup.

I was at the game, in the stands behind the bench 10 rows up. I watched him closely. Schoen was definitely nursing a "lower body" ouch when he came out of the game. He was mobile and walking on the sidelines, trying to keep the weight off and testing things - walking & trotting a little. I won't say any more than that, other than to venture that he would not have been effective had he gone back onto the field of play. Hopefully everyone is all healed up after the bye-week.

The atmosphere during the game was amazing, by the way.  Boisterous supportive crowd of Big Blue fans behind the Bombers bench. All the Bomber players noticed and definitely appreciated that support from the fans. Post-game victory chants echoed through BC Place for a long time as Bomber fans (lots of them) celebrated that exciting and important win!

From my viewpoint, just a few rows ahead of you I suspect, it seemed like he was quite eager to get back in the game if the coaches and trainers had allowed him. He stood on the sideline, looking ready to play the entire time. I didn't spot him on the trainer's table (which was right in front of my seats). I only realized he was out of the game when I noticed that BOLO was in.

The atmosphere at that game was truly amazing! It felt incredibly special to be surrounded by a sea of Blue. It was also the most nerve-wracking and thrilling game I've experienced in the 5+ years I've been attending Bomber games at BC Place as an expat.

I mean props to the Leo’s for making some hype for it. Gravy bowl is pretty funny.

I used to live in Winnipeg but now call Vancouver home. I must say, I admire what the Lions have achieved in terms of marketing and enhancing the fan experience since Doman took ownership. Attending games in BC has become a lot more enjoyable in the past couple of seasons. I make sure to catch all the Winnipeg and Edmonton games (my good friend's favorite team) when they're in BC.

Erroneous! Nichols has always made tackles. Nature of Ritchie halls defense. Nichols just doesn't get the glory stats to win something like modp because of how he plays.

He hasn't lived up to the reputation of being a shutdown corner this year, he's been beaten more frequently than past seasons. It's possible that it's due to the support around him. It's been pretty easy to see that he's been receiving considerably more camera time on TSN this year.

Like I said he used to be almost invisible in television coverage.

You see Salty Rivers, I was being facetious. Your post was as astute as mine, but you chose to post your thoughts in a way which vocabulary covers up for lack of substance.

Why not engage in a constructive discussion and counter my argument instead of resorting to childish behavior? I believe my points are valid, and they are undeniably significant factors contributing to our losses and making life difficult for Zack this season.

I can certainly simplify my vocabulary to better suit your reading comprehension level if that would help facilitate the discussion?

C'mon start spreading some of that wonderful positivity & love that you keep lecturing others here about. Don't worry. Be happy.

You're correct, I usually avoid posting here when I'm frustrated, but our offensive line and defense last night really got to me. I apologize for venting my frustration.

Yeah, 200 yards rushing is an indicator of disappointing play by an O line. Same goes for league leading lowest points against.

Pass protection hasn't lived up to expectations this year, let's not sugarcoat it. Additionally, the defense has struggled every time it's faced a serious test. Some would say that statistics are meaningless in such situations.
