I take back any negative comments I may have ever made about Taman and his Subway napkins because finding neg list prospects from the yokels on RF is a new low.  Well done O'Day, I sincerely hope you get a lifetime contract as GM of the Riders!

My nephew claims credit for alerting Taman to a player in 2005 or 2006. He submitted a question to a weekly column in either The Sun or Free Press, where Taman answered reader inquiries during the offseason or something like that. He asked if Taman was considering signing a recently suspended NFL running back (I think Ontario Smith based on some googling), to which Taman replied in the negative, not in the plans.

However, a few weeks later, the team signed the running back! Taman never acknowledged or thanked him for the scouting tip! LOL! Sorry if he's told this story in this forum before, I know he still lurks.

  2. John Hodge has an intellect as sharp as mashed potatoes, the wit of a damp sponge, and the charm of a startled hedgehog

I appreciate 3DN for its insights into the CFL within an increasingly limited media landscape, but John's contributions lack the polish and professional tone of a legitimate sports journalist. His writing makes my own overly verbose internet forum musings look like Tolstoy.

I took a little trip over there myself and I thought it was very touching that they were worried about what the Bombers were spending.😁

I'm sure they're scratching their heads over why we're investing in our homegrown CFL All-stars instead of throwing money at washed-up free agents with disreputable character. That's how you build an 8-10 team!

I agree too and as much as I’d love to see Bailey back, I also want to see him make his money and go somewhere he can be a second option. He’s capable enough to do it, I just don’t think we can give him what he deserves.

Losing Hardrick and Bailey feels like losing two majestic warriors, it hurts big time. They've embodied the truest spirit of Blue Bomber football. I wish them absolute success on their new path (at least monetarily 😉)

  5. If Streveler makes a comeback to the CFL and signs with us, that would be so absolutely splendidly awesome! The energy and excitement he'd bring back to the Blue Bombers and the stadium would be off the charts! Just thinking about Strevy rocking that Blue and Gold jersey again gets me hyped – he may be the missing piece for another epic season and Grey Cup appearance!

    Happy Friday everybody!

  6. Surprise delight in my newsfeed today! Had to make an offseason visit to this old internet haunt to chat shop.

What a pleasant twist to the club's strategy, promoting promising talents from within. I'm eagerly anticipating a similar upbeat vibe in the roster management this offseason, ushering in young blood to revitalize the starting lineup and bid farewell to the old spoiled milk. I'm ready for a wave of youthful energy at IG Field next season!

When in Cologne they mocked the folks in Munich for drinking beig steins off beer,  it gets warm and flat before you finish etc etc. They then went on to extol the virtues or drinking from a 20 cL glass. They keep bringing them until you put your coaster on top and it's always fresh and cold.

I don't know what my point is other than I like beer and there's no wrong way to drink it.

The Czech Republic is a beer lover's dream. Once you've downed about two-thirds of your drink, a new Pilsner arrives without you even having to ask. This cycle continues until you finally ask for the bill. My wife wasn't too keen on this custom though, we spent more time in pubs than exploring the sights some days 🤣

  8. These trophies tonight, they shimmer in the moonlight, catching our attention like fireflies in the summer sky. But let me tell you, my fellow football fans, the one that truly dances in the starlight, the pièce de résistance, is the one to be awarded on Sunday evening. It's the grand finale, the crescendo in the symphony of competition. So, savor the glint of the trinkets we won tonight, but brace yourself for the celestial spectacle that awaits us come Sunday!

I found amusement in the notion that Walters not having a contract next year has been a distraction to the team. No, it hasn't. The only distraction, my friends, is amateur journalists shoehorning the topic into interviews.
