CFL and half baked rule changes, name a more iconic duo.

Socks and sandals, the fashion police's favorite duo.

CFL rule changes can be hit or miss, but it's important to acknowledge their willingness to innovate and adapt. Feedback and constructive discussions can help shape the future of our sport.

  2. As a newer CFL fan, I've always found the ratio rules to be quite perplexing. I've struggled to grasp their intricacies and underlying logic. Now, with the recent changes to the rules this year, I must admit that my motivation to understand them has waned even further. It seems like a complex labyrinth that I may never fully navigate. Perhaps I'll just resign myself to enjoying the game without delving too deep into the intricacies of the ratio rules.

Don't you ever get tired of being a Bomber shill?

You think it takes more than 19 months to get a hearing for a DUI?

You think Lawler told the Bombers before they signed him that his DUI was still outstanding & that the Bombers didn't do anything about it?

You think Lawler is the only import to get a DUI in Canada?

I don't think any of those things are true. The DUI is the reason for Lawler's immigration problem & the media should report it that way. No DUI... No Problem.

It seems one might be excessively defensive when they vehemently deny something. The famous line, "The lady doth protest too much, methinks," captures this sentiment quite well. Can we please steer the conversation back to discussing football? Is this kind of talk that this forum is actually intended for?

Yup - always around a Gapper game some new account opens and posts a billion times  before eventually getting exposed.

They’re feeling good after that mean nothing pre-season - so here we are.

Being called a Rider fan is nothing short of slanderous—nothing lower than accusing me of having an incurable addiction to green face paint and excessive amounts of banjo music!

How funny it is that my kids also insist I wax poetic too often, but I refuse their critique and continue indulging in my  musings.

    I'm really enjoying this account

Thanks for the kind words, and a special shoutout to my nephew for introducing me to this forum. It's refreshing to be off Facebook and engaging with you all here! Believe it or not, I've only been a football fan for a few years, but I've quickly become captivated by the excitement and strategy of the game.

Absolutely can't understand why he's on the roster and Caleb Thomas ended up on the PR even from a ratio perspective, one penetrated and one didn't.

Depth on the defensive line is like an impenetrable buffet, serving up frustration to the opposing offense. Our team is more like a restaurant with a limited menu, lacking the diverse options and depth of flavors.

  7. Oh boy, where do I even begin with the BC Lions and their so-called "star players"? I must admit, it's quite the challenge to pinpoint anyone worthy of that title on their roster. Adams might be the closest they have, but let's not kid ourselves – he's no superstar. As for the rest of the Lions, well, it's like searching for a needle in a haystack of mediocrity. Although, I must confess, there is one player who catches my eye – Jevon Cottoy. He's got a spark of potential amidst the sea of underwhelming talent. But don't get your hopes up too high, because even Cottoy's shining moments can't rescue this Lions team from their eternal struggle. So, to answer your question, I'd say their list of star players is about as empty as their trophy case.

  8. Let me tell you something, as a die-hard Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan, we've had the upper hand in the rivalry against those Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Time and time again, we've come out on top, leaving those T-Cats fans with nothing but disappointment. From memorable playoff victories to glorious Grey Cup triumphs, our Bombers have shown their true dominance. We've had our fair share of moments to celebrate, while Hamilton has been left wondering what went wrong. So, let the Tiger-Cats keep trying, but in the end, it's the Blue Bombers who reign supreme in this rivalry.

  9. The 2023 Saskatchewan Roughriders may indeed have a season that some might consider satisfactory. However, it is important to note that their potential success should not be overstated. While they may gather a few victories if circumstances align in their favor, it is difficult to ignore the historical pattern of underperformance and mediocrity that has plagued this team. Despite the presence of a handful of competent players on their roster, the Roughriders have consistently fallen short of achieving significant accomplishments. Therefore, while they may demonstrate some level of competence, it would be unwise to anticipate any extraordinary achievements or championship titles from this particular team.

I stand by my choice of predicting that the Saskatchewan Roughriders will finish in second place, acknowledging their potential for a successful season.

I get your concerns IF the roster was frozen and this is who we got for the year, but a hundred guys just got cut around the league and only 70% of the players in the league last year were re-signed in the offseason. There are players, experienced players, that can be added at pretty much every position if we need to do so. I'm really not seeing the problem I guess. I have total faith that Walters has a list of replacements ready for every position from both our roster/PR and from the current CFL FA and cut down lists.

While it's true that there are players available in free agency and cut-down lists, the concern here is that constantly adding new players to fill positions may disrupt team chemistry and cohesion. Additionally, relying on constant roster changes can hinder the development of a stable, consistent team, which is crucial for long-term success.

  11. Apologies for the oversight of my prediction for the CFL's 2023 Most Outstanding Special Teams Player. My pick for this year is Janarion Grant. With his blazing speed, elusive moves, and ability to find gaps in coverage, Grant has consistently been a threat on kickoff and punt returns. His impact on special teams is undeniable, and I believe he'll be recognized for his outstanding performances this season.

  12. I've pondered, analyzed, and contemplated the upcoming 2023 CFL season, and here's my humble prediction for the final standings.

In the West Division, our Winnipeg Blue Bombers will continue their dominance and secure the top spot. Following closely behind will be the Saskatchewan Roughriders, hungry for redemption. The Calgary Stampeders will put up a good fight but settle for third place. As for the Lions and the Elks, they will face tougher challenges and round out the division.

In the East Division, the Toronto Argonauts will showcase their strength and claim the first-place position. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will give them a run for their money, securing second place. The Alouettes and the Redblacks will face an uphill battle and finish behind the top two teams.

Most Outstanding Player: I'm putting my money on a quarterback this year. My gut says it could be Bo Levi Mitchell.

Most Outstanding Defensive Player: This one's a tough call, but I have a feeling Willie Jefferson might snag this award again.

Most Outstanding Canadian: Get ready for Jevon Cottoy of the BC Lions to ****** the 2023 award.

Predicting the Most Outstanding Rookie award is like trying to tackle a greased pig.

Coach of the Year: My pick for Coach of the Year goes to Dickenson

These predictions are just my personal take, and the beauty of football lies in its unpredictability. Anything can happen on the field, and that's what keeps us hooked. Go Bombers!

  13. In football, jersey numbers are like a game of musical chairs. Players come and go, and those numbers keep shuffling around. It's like an ongoing dance where we embrace the superstitions and quirks that each number brings. So, let's roll with it and enjoy the mystique of these jersey numbers. Who knows, maybe that number on your new favorite player's back will bring some good luck and lead to unforgettable moments on the field. It's all part of the unpredictable, superstitious charm of football.
