    1, 2,  and 3. Bombers found a quarterback.

Overall, It's difficult  to complain about this game.

The pass from Reilly to Walker, CFL.ca has it

Walker slowed down a bit, pass looks like it went between Randle's arms, he was right there with Walker. Looks like an outstanding 60 yards in the air pass, and a great catch.

Walker is really good. I guess Randle should have looked back when Walker slowed down.

I thought Walker gave Randle a bit of a push on the left shoulder which was what caused Randle to go down just before the ball got there.  Some angles didn't show it very well, but there was one shot where it looked pretty obvious to me.

Anyway, pretty good game for the boys, just came up a bit short with a Rookie QB who looked pretty darn good in his first CFL game.

EDM WPG was like 60 40 EDM when i made my picks. Bombers catching up. Who voted for Montreal lol. 1 vote for them 😆

And Besides the Source, who voted for Sask? 2 votes? Rider Priders are here.

    Ripper would have picked Sask.

51.92% for the Bombers now... love the confidence in our team :)

Hey this Bethel-Thompson from Toronto.....has a CFL completion rate of 100.00%!!!

Ok, so it was only 2 pass attempts....but still....

As far as "begging" or even asking Durant to come out of retirement........He can just stay at home and bleed Rider Green, and manure.

Isn't Streveler 100% at this point too?  And that's on 10 attempts, so that makes him 5 times better then Bethel Thompson if my math is right.

What makes you think that a rookie QB can 'simply avoid turnovers' or that it 'shouldn't be hard'?

I'm sure everyone would be more comfortable if DoubleDoosh hadn't retired or even if we'd kept Davis around, but that's not what happened.

I'm way more comfortable with the QBs we have than if we had DD.  He was total crap in Montreal, and was quite disappointed when I heard we had signed him.

Well i hate to be Mr negative but i dont see how with our current backups we can go 2-2.even with a great defense. One guy has never seen a regular season game even as a starter. I have seen way too many past horror stories with QBs green to the CFL...IF Nichols only misses 4 games we will be hard pressed to go 1- 3 probably 0-4 with these guys...this is a QB driven league. Hopefully we can come back somewhere down the road...but man we ethier have no luck or bad luck.😕😔

Remember a few years back when BC started the season 0-5?  They went on a tear and won the Grey Cup, so starting 0-4 is definitely no the end of the world.

anyone see the seat map on ticketmaster for the game Friday? very few tickets shown as available and it looks close to a sell out, which is odd for a preseason game. Am I missing something? or are people just pumped to see this team get going?

I would assume that the voucher for a free pair of tickets that was given to season ticket members probably helped that along.  I remember a pretty decent crowd for the pre-season game last year.

I do think people are pretty pumped about the season, and with the Jets out of the playoffs, some people may be looking to keep their live sports fix going.

Edmonton crushes Regina 35-12 ... with Collaros and Bridge  not on the field along with  the majority of their starters on defence ..... I hope Edmonton leaves a lot of veterans at home when they travel here Friday ... they dressed 85 players yesterday ... I don't know how many the Bombers will dress for their home game ...hopefully we can find a 2nd string QB Friday night ourselves... we may have seen Zach Kline move into the #3 QB spot but he will have to confirm that this Friday night .... we might see Nichols staying in Winnipeg for our away game in Vancouver (only Bomber preseason game televised) June 8th

Calgary will have no preseason games televised while Hamilton and Montreal each get two because the last one will be RDS only (in French)

We host Edmonton here Thursday June 24th 14th to kickoff the regular season ... we can't take the warm up game lightly .... our rookies have to beat their rookies !!!

First "must win" game of the season this Friday ... YES

I've had employees leave for a variety of reasons. One decided she wanted to go to Denmark.  She was one of my best employees. One of my current best is considering a change. I told them both the same thing. If you're going to be happier in a different situation, from a professional standpoint I hate to lose you, but from a personal standpoint I'm happy for you and wish you luck.

So if he can't work it out with the Argo's, I can't fault him for choosing the situation that's better for him or his family, even though it sucks to lose him from the league.

The difference there is that your employees didn't go crying to the media that they aren't getting what they want.

    So did the Argos.

And having a 6'2, 235 pounder with breakaway speed who can run inside or outside of the tackles, block and run a route and catch a ball sit out their season because they don't want to give him something closer to market value for his potential 1k/1k production just to accomplish what...? Prove a point of principle?

No. Our principle always has been and always ought to be: winning the Grey Cup.

Totally agree with you that the Argos should have considered re-negotiating the deal.  The big problem that I have with the whole thing is running to the media.  We don't know what discussions were had between his agent and the team, so no idea what demands were put to the Argos and what they actually said no to.  Again, this is the problem with running to the media with it because nobody knows the whole truth, and everyone comes out looking a little worse for it.

Mouthing off? Easy there, Johnny Sunshine...

And yeah, I stand by the assertion that he was, objectively speaking, by whatever metric you'd care to use, easily the best last season. When Trestman finally switched from Whittaker to JWjr, we were a different team.

As to the contract issue, I can't say I blame him and I take his side much as I took Williams' side a couple of years ago when the same thing happened in Hamilton.

$45k USD is nowhere even close to the amount that I) his play merits and, II) is near enough to justify the risk of injury which could cost him a roster spot down south for his (potentially) big payday.

I think that doubling his pay, adding bonuses and a gentleman's agreement to let him go next year if he finds a gig in the NFL is called for. And if we won't do it, then we deserve whatever comes from going from having the best guy at a position to having nobody there.

As for setting a bad precedent, well I don't think that it does because it's difficult to envision an apples to apples comparison (other than Williams), and also the Argos under Barker would let players explore their options early and it seemed to make players more likely to sign with us since we wouldn't hold them captive if they had a chance to secure their future with a big deal.

TL;DR, Pretty sure it's a negotiating ploy. Pretty sure he's sincere about it though. Pretty sure he deserves it and risking potentially many hundreds of thousands for 45k makes no sense. The Argos likely work this out.

    And what about Posey...?

By renegotiating, the Argos would be giving in to the ploy of crying out to the media, which I believe does set a bad precedent.

Pre season? You can't use that for any real comparison. Defenses play vanilla. He might have been facing guys from the 5th to 7th round. Half the players from that game never made it to the regular season.

Well, if the preseason is that useless, why don't they just scrap it altogether?
