Every touchdown we score removes an ad from the scoreboard, until ultimately the actual video takes up the entire screen.

After a TD, I'd like to see a high diving act. For no other reason than I can complain, "I paid my six bits to see the high diving act and I wanna see the high diving act."

Well apparently they don't sell them but they do give them away to fans as part of the game day tradition.

After the log is cut, game broadcasts invariable move to a commercial. Fans at the stadium, however, see the second part of the process. The cookie is branded with the Redblacks logo and presented to a deserving guest at the game. It might be someone who has raised millions for charity, says Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group vice-president Randy Burgess, or a breast cancer survivor who rallies others to fight the disease.

Branded ‘cookie’ is presented to a guest to honour a community contribution.

Burgess says he’s always moved by the applause the recipients get as he escorts them back to their seats.

“For me seeing the fans give that ovation to a person who has really made a contribution to the community … it’s tremendous.”

I think that is a pretty cool tradition they have.

Imagine if the Bombers did something similar and you happened to get one of the many TD "cookies" scored by Milt.  Heck of a souvenir.

Cutting logs isn't that bad... the oskee wee wee waa waa stuff in Hamilton was and is cringe worthy...

I think the log cutting is dumb, I don't know why really. I just don't like it. The whistle in Hammy is ok, the horse in CGY is (was?) awesome. And of course our canon is great.

What do other teams do? I know SSK has gainer go back and forth in a truck...that's kinda lame....What about BC MTL or TO?

BC has Crazy George hitting himself in the head with his drum stick, it's actually funny, Montreal the crowd sings "Alouette", agreed this is lame, and in Toronto skydome, they open the curtains to selected hotel suites and the stadium further cheers as a couple lays pipe.

If they really wanted to have an element of truth to it Gainer would be under the truck like most gophers in that province wind up.

We aren't sure if Gainer is going to make the cut this year. He is slowing down. No one is safe.

Nonsense. It's all about the perception. Saskatchewan wants to reset the market conditions for mascots and anything to do with "gain" is frowned upon.

Saskatchewan should spend a little money and get this to go up and down the field the one or two times a game they score:

No, no, no. You can never spoil the legacy of the Beverly Hillbillies by associating that masterful show with the Riders.

Agreed. If we are going to laugh at other teams celebrations then young men dressed as lumberjacks with power saws making wooden frisbees when a TD is scored ranks right up there.

What about our premature canon blasts? Nothing says 'desperate for points' like firing the canon after a missed FG

I assumed when a kicker missed the field goal, they aimed the cannon at them!

Oskee wee wee is quite infectious, you just have to view it through the bottom of a 26 oz. bottle to appreciate it.

The Alouettes "make some noise'  is the most annoying thing I could think of at this time.

Oh hell yeah, that faire du bruit thing sounds awful on TV.

Strangely, live it's not so overpoweringly loud.  I was expecting to get blasted out of my seat by it but it was just above the background of the crowd.

2nd only to the din created by Rider fans when Rod Pedersen and Rob Vanstone figure out the Riders must have scored, and tell the crowd to remove their melon heads and cheer...for the home team...because it's a good thing...like barbecues, where you can eat with your fingers again, and dancing..even if the hokey-pokey really is what's it's all about for them.

It's boring at work today so I'm going to complain about something that's not that important.

Was any one else annoyed at how often the drummers were playing? It was after nearly every play, you could barely make out what the announcers were saying and I was in the upper deck.

Don't get me wrong, I like them. But it was just too much. Save that **** for TD's or something. Damn

I heard that the drummers between plays were one of the suggestions at the fan forum.

I thought it was a little too much as well.  The same repetitive drum beat over and over.   Wonder it if would be better if they had a full band like they do at US college games.

I found them annoying as well... especially when a song like "We will rock you" is playing on the loudspeaker and they are playing a different beat.  If they were joining in with whatever was playing on the speakers, I think they would be far more effective to get the crowd going

totally agree

I think we should all get lap dances after every TD. Would really boost ticket sales.
