You're starting to slip. Your attempts to stir up arguments are usually less transparent.

  • very good move by Walters, he is earning his stripes as a G.M. He has a good handle on the Salary cap management and has it set up to retain core guys longterm, creating stability.   We just secured

Loved Cory Watson when he was on the field .. epitomized the way this game should be played .. best of luck to Cory going forward.   That said .. I think we made out like bandits in this trade.

Wow, that's interesting. I think I like it too.Three top 15 picks in a strong draft.

Another of my jerseys down. I like the trade 3 picks in the top 15.

I was hoping they would trade Watson for the rights to Evan Gill.

I don't know much about Bastien but getting another high pick on a deep draft pool doesn't hurt either.

What kind of money is Watson making?

Shouldn't be that much I imagine.

Pretty sure it's lower than the $225k that Getzlaf is receiving.

He was making "I'm a starting Canadian receiver on my 3rd CFL contract" money.

AKA a lot.

Good move IMO.

Liked Cory but spent to much time doing nothing.

Wheels turning now either its Kohlert and JFG or they feel confident they will get a couple guys in FA to start 4 Nats on the oline.

Good one there. I'm still trying to recover from the getzlaff salary bomb and now this. I need a drink.

Right now our Nat receivers are Kohlert, F-Gudino and Bastien.

Brett Carter is a pending FA, wonder if Walters will re-sign him.

And what's the latest with Goodrich and our draft pick Alli.

Media person on twitter saying this is also the Bombers creating more cap space.  Is it wrong to to feel a sense of joy that Bombers trade with SK to create more cap space to make a big offer to Heenan?

I like that we got something for Watson.... but I hate seeing guys I like go to Saskie... Good luck to him..

Seems likely that we'll be taking a receiver early in this draft.

Demski! Demski! Demski!  :P

If you add the salaries of Bagg Getzlaf and Watson must be North of 450,000.

I really don't see us going OL in the first round now, if we have 4 picks in the top 20.

You could go skill position at 2nd overall and draft 2 OL with the 11/15/20th picks and still come out with a great haul.

Really depends on how things shake down at the combine, though.

One of them must be going down the road, my money is on Getz.

with 3 picks in the top 15 you'd have to think Richards and/or Demski are on the radar... and who was that kid from SFU, Durant?

Likely their salaries are north of 500k

I liked Cory but didn't play often enough.  good luck to him.

How did we acquire the 26th pick - part of the Neufeld/Hall trade?

very good move by Walters, he is earning his stripes as a G.M. He has a good handle on the Salary cap management and has it set up to retain core guys longterm, creating stability.

We just secured 4 picks in the top 20 of probably one of the stronger drafts in years where we could realistically see 3 draftees make the game day roster.

He's created cap room for a big splash in free agency and if cards fall into place as they just may now, we may be in a position in one full swoop of an off-season solve O-Line issues, ratio and Canadian depth issues and allow us to more than likely play 4 import receivers, or possibly an all american d-line

if we get who we want in free agency, and with first 2 picks score nicely I could see, and personally I would take Varga with the 15th pick...If draft and free agency go how we want, we can actually afford to do that this year

I don't mind getting a second round pick for Watson.  Not sure we needed to give up a 3rd rounder and I don't even remember Bastien playing last year.

Getting something for an expensive NI receiver who couldn't stay healthy and wasn't a threat anymore is a good move IMHO.

I doubt it changes Walters philosophy towards taking an O lineman high and low.  Still think we will take an O lineman with our #2 overall unless we can sign a NI starter in FA.
