Around the CFL Offseason Discussion

Figured it would be nice to keep all the non-Bomber dealings of the offseason in one centralized thread ... I'm sure there are exceptions for the BIG stories having their own threads as they come up, but for all the daily tweets and information, we could keep it condensed to one thread.

One rumor I saw yesterday from Drew Edwards ... WR Greg Ellingson to Ottawa to reunite with Henry Burris - would be a good move for Ottawa

  • For a lot of reasons, I don’t usually publically post or discuss site discipline.   Wide Right has now been banned.  This morning he used an IP address that was common to one that only Migs has used

  • Yeah... why are they signing a QB when they already have one?

  • They should get a new trainer in Montreal;)

Adrian Robinson Jr. was killed by gunfire in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Apparently that's a load of BS, TMZ reported it too but somebody else said that it was false as he wasn't even in Harrisburg, PA.

A tweet from Adrian Robinson's agent:

Brian McLaughlin ‏@brian_symmetry

The TMZ report on Adrian Robinson's death is completely inaccurate. He was not involved in a shooting, and he was not in Harrisburg, PA.

Edited to add:

TMZ's story is saying Philadelphia now. They claim their source is with the police.

Do you think he resurfaces?

If Chris Bauman can, he can.

I wouldn't mind seeing him here. For vet minimum.

Our NI receivers aren't very deep. I'd be willing to give him another chance as well. But I find it hard to believe he would come back here.

I believe he at least at one point was dating someone from Winnipeg so you never know.

He definitely made himself part of the community while he was here.  And some team will offer him a contract.  It's the CFL.  He's Canadian.

Most of the time as a Bomber he was on the wide side doing go routes.  That didn't seem to work.  If he ends up back here, hopefully we try and use him in a different way.  If Addison puts ink to paper, it probably doesn't happen.  If camp gets close and there's still no contract, Poblah might become a consideration.

He still trains young football players as part of his program, so a return to Winnipeg would be more of a "do we want him back' kind of thing

He can't catch consistently! End of Story!

He moved here permanently a few months ago.

Makes sense so I agree that it would be more of a situation of whether we want him or not. He's had a lot of chances and I'm far from a fan of his but for a cheap contract, why not?

I don't think we need him.  He may land in Toronto.

Apart from one catch that sticks in my memory, what did Poblah ever do to warrant a return invite?

Kito just didn't get a fair shake our old coach help him down and he's vastly under rated!

Well, he sure didn't seem to light it up in Wally world, so I'm of the opinion that we have all the TCF we're going to need

Yeah he played in the PIT in the winter and helped out with finish first football. That was pretty cool of him. I'd take him back for the min.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure he founded FFF.

I think you're right - Kito and Carl Volny.

whenever I think of Kito I think of the game I went to in Winnipeg in 2013 against Hamilton. Max Hall laid a beautiful ball into his arms, and he was open in the end zone by 20 yards.  He just flat out dropped the ball.  Sorry but there's just no room in the line up for guys who can't catch.
