CodyT Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago Just gotta think that they had a plan going into FA and that includes QB2. I see the perkins love here but I've been on these sites for (19 YEARS WOW) and I am yet to see a backup who isn't highly touted lol
17to85 Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago I could see them signing another receiver before it's all said and done Noeller, Booch, blue85gold and 1 other 2 1 1
GCn20 Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Powell is the guy I wanted at QB if we were going to go veteran backup. Nothing else really out there that's worth bringing in unless we have an emergency during the season. 12 hours ago, CodyT said: I think no QB signing because that kid they drafted is coming here. Time will tell. Walters had attitude in the pressor and had intent for change. I'm not surprised. I am happy we managed to land clear targets for us What a great start to feb I am pretty sure that Wadzilla told him to show up for work this year or it would be his last. What's with the eye roll Noeller? You think he did a good job last year? Tell me why? Edited 7 hours ago by GCn20 Noeller, Booch and CodyT 2 1
Mike Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago The DT we have added to our negotiation list are very interesting and it’s pretty obvious by the amount of them we have added this year that we’re recruiting hard there Anterio Thompson added on the 19th … 6’4 310 James Thompson Jr added on the 23rd … 6’6 305 Kevionta Spears added on the 28th … 6’4 315 Casey Rogers added on the 23rd … 6’5 305 Dominic Bailey added on the 16th … 6’3 300 Looks like they’re recruiting a specific build type of here and not looking at the fire hydrant guys we have in the past. Getting longer. Like to see that a lot. Booch, bb1, rebusrankin and 1 other 3 1
GCn20 Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago 2 hours ago, Mike said: There’s also the reality that I see a lot of people on social media (not here) missing, which is that a lot of our veterans aren’t getting raises. I guarantee you Willie, Kyrie, Bryant, Neufeld, Eli, Castillo as a whole make less than they did last year. We also let go of some big ticket low impact players … Ceresna over Vaughters was less than $100k increase. Tim White over Dillon Mitchell was maybe a $50k cap increase. Jonathan Jones and Peyton Logan are gone and their cap hits were decent. Even Jake Thomas had a decent cap hit that is now off the books. We paid big money to Pokey, Holm, Lawson, Kramdi, Brady and some others but a lot of that went on the 2025 cap and a lot of it came from offsets elsewhere and that’s probably exactly why we were able to come out swinging on a guy like Broxton. It may not result in a return to the glory days (also, it may) but I can’t help but be impressed with what Walters has done with the cap so far. Me too, however a lot of his "cap magic" this year is because he did absolutely diddly squat last year. However, no use living in the past and I am glad he had the bucks to come out swinging. 3 minutes ago, Mike said: The DT we have added to our negotiation list are very interesting and it’s pretty obvious by the amount of them we have added this year that we’re recruiting hard there Anterio Thompson added on the 19th … 6’4 310 James Thompson Jr added on the 23rd … 6’6 305 Kevionta Spears added on the 28th … 6’4 315 Casey Rogers added on the 23rd … 6’5 305 Dominic Bailey added on the 16th … 6’3 300 Looks like they’re recruiting a specific build type of here and not looking at the fire hydrant guys we have in the past. I mean, realistically there was a lot of confusion surrounding the cap amount and there are definitely a few teams who got caught waiting too long to use it but at the same time, I’m glad he didn’t just spend it to spend it last year. Must’ve been tempting in a Grey Cup hosting year but who was out there that would’ve made a difference? I suppose you could argue maybe a Eugene Lewis type player but with Hogan calling plays, we were ****** anyways. Our roster and its usage was not anywhere near good enough last year. We were in tough the moment we decided to sign that horrendous foursome of Mitchell, Vaughters, Logan and Jones. Tracker, Noeller, rebusrankin and 1 other 2 2

He actually stayed healthy last year and was by far, the best receiver in the league. Hard to come with a reason that wouldn't have helped. You say "wow what a catch by Kenny Lawler" like it's a bad thing. Those kind of grabs change games. Edited 4 hours ago by GCn20

Those kind of grabs change games. you're right... signing Lawler would've added a few "wow" moments to our offense... having him may have led to more points and maybe an extra win... but his presence wouldn't have fixed our OL issues or DL issues or overall ineptitude of our offense... what's done is done... last year is a throw away (IMO) and let's look forward to getting back this year....

Withn Tim White, Nic Demski, Tommy Nield & Ontaria Wilson having Lawler now would have been the icing on the cake. Not only would we have spread the ball around but we also would have had the best deep ball receiver in the CFL. That's the missing piece on offense right now. WinnipegGordo Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Some new blood signed today: Micah Cretsing Lb Saginaw Valley State Dorian Singer WR Utah Joseph Taylor RB Arizona Noeller and rebusrankin 2
Mike Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago “Joseph” Taylor is that little guy that played for the Patriots half a decade ago, JJ Taylor. Think he’s 5’5
JohnnyAbonny Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago On the subject of a 50/50 receiver, I really think Jahmal Banks could be that guy for us. Obviously a lot remains to be seen, but he looks like an under-the-radar stud signing. Big tall dude who can go up and get it. Really looking forward to seeing what he can do. rebusrankin and Booch 1 1

With wilson seemingly expired, and strevy toast, the back ups are ugly. Agreed. We really, really need a QB who is good enough to push Collaros from training camp onward.

Yeah..my thoughts too...he can also play the underneath game too...hope we give him the Josh Johnson opportunity next yr...but this kid will produce...and be a mismatch nightmare
