The thing I noticed is that he seems to be a "run first option", and that does not bode well, even in the CFL.

Well, we do have restaurants named for him., just like Sean Salisbury.

I certainly see more running early in his first year as a college starter. 2nd year shifted to a lot more throws. That carried out even more in his last year in the ufl.

Some thing to keep in mind as well is that a guy running an offense like that will seem like he’s running a lot more on drop back plays. Because soo much of their passing game was quick hit 1 step or immediate throw, all his none called runs came on the longer pockets.

It does look to me like he could improve his throwing on the run tendency.

Um, I hate to spoil your day but Perkins is no more.

Maybe a silly question but will shortening the field and end zone help american football players adjust easier to our game or is the 65 yard width and three down football etc their biggest adjustments?

Sad it was my dad's favorite restaurant.

that’s a pretty darn good get. I would not be surprised if he is our short yardage qb next year.

Very strong athletically, more quick than fast great change of direction and cutting ability.

Love his release, strong enough arm good accuracy. His style of play and college offence translates very well to the cfl. Love that he has had success as a pro too.

Came back from a crazy career threatening injury as a red shirt.

In this video for the last TD.... can the Blue sign the receiver Malik Turner?   That juke and speed was real nice!

Perkins in that TD run it was hilarious on how bad those defenders froze and watched him... if that is a representation of the talent in the UFL then yikes.

My absolute favourite breakfast place is The Original Pancake House. The giant apple pancake is a good excuse to sleep the rest of the morning, but my 16 year old son ate TWO of them in a single sitting on a dare. We didn't see him again until well after lunch.

Not silly at all, I would think it will certainly make the transition easier for imp rookies. They aren’t the biggest differences, but they are odd for americans. I wonder how big the transition will be for established guys though.

No joke. Ufl Ds really struggle not having the cohesion of units that have been together for a time. A lot of the good D in the spring leagues looks like that. Tbh it starts out like that here, but our season is long and we have enough hold overs to get past it. The spring leagues never reach that point imo.

Farhan now reporting he’d be shocked if hogan was back as oc for us next year. Day keeps getting better.

Friesen was inducted into the media section of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.  He apparently asked no other than Mike (handled internally) Kelly to induct him.

There is a video of Mike Kelly's induction speech.  Probably not worth the minutes of commercials The Sun will make you watch to see it, but it is the off season.

https://winnipegsun.com/sports/video-mike-kelly-introduces-paul-friesen-into-hall-of-fame-2025

In one of Kelly's job interviews after the Bombers, they looked him up online and apparently asked him who Friesen was, as a bunch of his articles came up.  Kelly said his response was "someone who did their job better than I did."

Mike Miller = bye bye Brady.

Has a resume almost as great as Mike Kelly's.

If Tommy Condell was hired, it would be the same thing...The run game is an afterthought with him.

I'm sure a bantam or pee wee team could use him. There's a lot of Dad coaches he can learn from.

I think the CFL is ready to pounce in UFL cities if the league folds. There's a lot of negativity about the league in the media down south since that billionaire bought the UFL. Got rid of GM's & scoutinmg staff. Players not making a lot of money. Older players being tossed aside for the 21 & 22 years olds as the UFL is a developmental league now. Everything is centralized now under his watchful eye. I'm sure training camps will be in the same place or close by. No community involvement at all.

St. Louis would put 40k in for the cfl. I’m not sure anywhere else would tho. Canada and the US aren’t exactly bffs right now either tho so I don’t see US expansion anytime soon. What the cfl should do tho is try to get a streaming deal with apple Amazon or Netflix and go from there.

That I agree with. A streaming deal would be amazing. I also think if the CFL eventually expands to the US they'll have to change the name at some point.

I dunno. I think the cfl makes sense still cuz Canadian rules but probably not for a few more years.

Would love to hear the back story on how Jarius Jackson was mismanaged.

Pretty scary if it was the same guy who thought Mitchell was still an effective receiver.

I'm curious how much it impacted things that Jarious was gone all through camp with family matters and didn't get into town until the season had started. Maybe if he gets a full TC and calls his own playbook.....?

Right? We used basically none of what hogan was running in camp. If jackson was here, maybe we make changes much earlier and have a better play book.

It was pretty clear he took over play calling late, not that things got to where they needed to be. But it is really hard to entirely remake the offence mid season. Which makes sense, as we seemingly kept trying to do full installs.

My hope is we either keep jackson and bring in a really good oc candidate, or bring in one a good oc, and a great under coach. Like bourgoin and Costanza. Both guys familiar working with the mafia zach etc.
If we could keep Jackson as qb coach and some how get bourgoin and costanza that’d be great.

Bunch of guys won’t see free agency here but here is a short list of guys i’d target.

wr philpot, and hardy would be preferable. But id take any of the no1 wrs here.

ol broxton woodmansey allen are the top tier for me. I’d rather not go pay elite money on a G. Woodmansey for kola would be the biggest upgrade ever. Allen or broxton would allow big stan to kick inside.

dl hutchins is nfl bound but id break the bank on him. Tavai, hicks, and ceresna are all big gets. Couple other guys off the edge with good production, but I’d bank on those 4 producing with any team.

lb allen, mcmanis every team should call both guys. as impactful as a lber gets in the cfl. Allen offers a tremendous flip of the ratio and mcmanis is biggie 2.0 who could win modp any year.

db pickett. The same version of mcmanis. Best db at the hardest position. Couple canadians I’d kick the tires on. Hard to do much with out losing guys here though.

Id also love one of powell or crum to round out our qbs.

If we got 2 of those guys an a qb, we’d be in great shape. Could really use 3, but that’d be extremely hard to pull off.

My completely uneducated guess would be pre snap motion, width and number of players would be a bigger learning curve than having extra space in the end zone

Unless he turns into another PJ Walker.

I thought this club hired and retained high character guys?
