Probably only 2 practices this week.

Not sure sure how severe Ball's injury is.

Apologies if this has been posted before.  Absolutely abysmal management of the players health here.

Tore it vs Cgy....then "re-injured" it vs Sask....like what the effing F Osh!!?

You frigging imbecile...it didn't heal over time from the CGY game...and you playing him made it worse...your b.s and lies and holier than others schtik is getting old

Soon as a not even 1 yr old healed ACL reconstruction is torn again...that's it...shut down the player...in to surgery

You just ruined a players career and earning potential with you and your staffs incompetence...plain and simple

Knowing it was already torn...and then he did more damage...Likely destroyed his cartlidge or strained an mcl or pcl as well and then saying  "he tried to gut it out" is god damned shameful and totally shows incompetence on so many levels...your a frigging fool and sooner you leave town the better

We don't know if he lied to the doctors about how good his knee was and how ready he was to play, but if he has reinjured the same knee ligament, this is bad news, The team will cope, one way or another, but his ability to live an active, pain-free life is very much in question now.

Proper Testing and assesment out of the gate would have shown if he was ready

Then visually studying his game film and how he was playing...almost in self preservation mode all yr too...would have told you the same

Then the new injury in cgy where in order to participate at all...had to have a brace on should have told you...shut him down

Then the additional injury on labor day would have even for the stupidest coaching staff made you realize that ...yup...guys totally hurt

Then...Allowing him to "gut it out" and then do likely even more damage and good chance end his career...well it out just confirms to anyone who had doubts or was on the fence about Osh that he is a complete bafoon and has to go

He's used up his "yeah buts"

Tho we shouldn't be shocked with 3 consecutive Grey cups of guys who shouldn't be even on tge field let alone playing...I thought he couldn't have been any dumber and arrogant playing ZC with a finger literally hanging off...and that was the limit of his stupidity....I really misjudged him...hes dumber than I realized

It’s beyond dumb imo. Guys trotting out injured in the 23 GC was dumb. Zach playing with half his finger torn off was even dumber.
This time it’s past dumb, this was morally wrong.

Ed’s right. We barely have enough Canadians to fill the roster. Maybe I missed a few, but I only see Vibert & Cobb as options to fill out the Canadian roster requirements.

Couldn't we just nationalize Willie, for instance? Assuming that we weren't so stubborn about using that rule. That alone would allow us to roster one of Woods or Adams in lieu of Kornelson. And taking Ayers off could get us the other one or Houston. Just maddening.

right? you can play hurt you can’t play injured. playing guys repeatedly with torn acls etc is horrific. gross negligence

i mean when they do the testing on the leg and see how it’s moving while they hold it, that’s a pretty clear source and you follow that up with an mri where you see it.

For a guy who is fighting through the recovery of that knee and struggling to stay healthy a re injury has to be treated as serious.

we could. vaughters and kyrie too.

I'm not a doctor and I know an ACL injury is serious. So if a guy injures it in 24 and comes back in 25 and there is further injury to the acl, you don't bring him back in 6 games. Schoen could sue the training staff for medical malpractice imo.

Lol no he couldnt.

That rule doesn't count for the total number of required Canadians, only for starters.

So for example we could start Willie as a nationalized American and only have to start 7 additional actual Canadians - maybe Oliveira, Demski, Clercius, Neuf, Kola, Wallace, Kramdi and then go all American on the DL.

But we'd still have to have at least 20 actual Canadians on the active roster, even if Willie was declared a nationalized American.

Furthermore we could declare Kyrie a Designated Nationalized American and have him split 50% of snaps with Kramdi, while starting J.Jones or Ayers at WIL. So essentially we start 2.5 more Canadians than we are required to.

Oh I'm sorry are you a doctor? Lawyer?

Its the USA, so the laws may be different in Canada but Tyrod Taylor sued the Chargers medical staff and Chris Maragos won a suit in 2023, where he sued the Eagles medical staff for failing to provide proper medical care for a knee injury that ultimately ended his career. Greg Brooks is suing LSU over medical negligence.

I mean you can always bring suit. if he has any grounds at all depends on the medical advice he got, and how/if he took it.

morally we are up the creek here, legally likely nothing happens.

the league and the pa should investigate this though

I sure the PA may..legally there so many things to consider....and never gonna happen

But on the look of the whole thing...Bombers look pretty incompetent and bad tho..

Omg, now there's a pyscho on the rider forum claiming one of the years their garbage franchise won, the rider players were prevented from touching the banjo bowl trophy. What a ******* load of horseshit.

These people are absolute scum

I don't see another thread so I will put this here: Ottawa is terrible

I refuse to believe our team doctors would risk their reputation (never mind their license!) over this. But hey it's all Osh's fault...

You refuse to believe anything remotely negative lol I’m not sure who did it, but someone grossly mishandled Schoen’s health. And I don’t mean Schoen himself.

Yeah that's the thing... of course Schoen wanted to play, or at least he was willing to play. That's how players are wired. They need to be protected from themselves. The training staff and coaching staff both wear this because they have the responsibility to keep guys off the field if they aren't ready.

I don't expect any accountability from the team because no one in the media challenges them. I watched the O'Shea presser from today and the first media guy to ask questions and the lady after him... yikes..... they both seem like they don't care or don't understand what they are seeing. I was waiting for someone to ask "why the hell was he even on the field?" but it never happened.

It looks like it'll be up to our Team President but even then, will he do anything?

This kind of thing can and does happen pretty much anywhere. Dalton Schoen just happens to be in the spotlight.

The guy tore a ligament in the same knee he had injured previously (after coming back relatively quickly all things considered....) and they let him go on the field with that ligament torn again.... how's that not an issue with what the medical staff and coaches are doing?

I mean yeah rah rah Bombers, but this is a bad look and it's really hard to just hand wave away.

2023 Grey Cup, two injured star Bomber players decide to “give it a go” with disastrous results IMO. Last year’s Grey Cup, our starting QB (who was already starting with a questionable ankle) injured his hand on a helmet and “gives it a go” (again not so good results). This year it’s Dalton again (not so good results if you consider the 2 point convert try). My question is, is this standard operating procedure in the CFL today despite all of the safety and other regulations built into the players association contract etc.? Also, I can’t recall the injury to Schoen in 2023 that was going to keep him out of that game before the Bombers surprised everyone with his insertion into that game. Could that (perhaps he wasn’t ready to play) or that mentality have contributed in some way to the injury he initially suffered this season? Is it possible the players association or the league would even look into this? I’m prolly just crazy for asking, of course everything was done above board 😉
