It's almost never too late in CFL. Look at the Stamps, this year compared to last year.

off season sure you can rebuild in one year, if you can add a top tier qb. mid season? where do you find talent mid season in this era?

Walters should have some money tucked away. Offer him a multi year deal that takes care of him financially and let’s get it done!

If he wants to come back to the CFL Walters should be doing anything and everything to get it done

Well we have his rights don't we? Like it he comes back, he HAS to come to Winnipeg I think...?

But either way, I can't see him going anywhere else. We absolutely will have money stashed and he'll see value in coming to a system he thrived in (in so much as Zach and other pieces... Not necessarily Hogan...)

Yeah we have his rights for the rest of this season. I‘m just saying if he’s on the fence, the club should be rolling out the red carpet right now.

But how motivated would Wilson be to come back to the Peg with his rookie contract vs waiting to see what happens down South?

I'd redo his contract and give him a signing bonus to hopefully get him up here ASAP.

c'mon man.

in 2019 at this point in the season we were still starting that maple maga guy at safety.  weird **** happens in the CFL playoffs.

We have more holes than swiss cheeses. It won't be solved this season by plugging holes with a  bunch of rags. Our problems really started this season not signing vany impact free agents.

How is it too late? It’s not even Labour Day yet for Christsake. They are in position for a playoff spot.

The summers hottest teams aren’t always the ones doing well in the playoffs.

I'm talking about replacing defensive backs & receivers mid season. Occasionally, players like Demerio Houston or Ontaria Wilson come available. The NFL hangs on to more players than ever before with expanded practice rosters as well as the UFL now recruiting for next season, By CFL free agency, the UFL have their rosters set. With all the player movement in February, CFL teams can go after free agents that are available that are under contract now.

This is an alarmist statement... the only real area of concern to that extent is receiver and that could be corrected well enough depending on if, when, how effective schoen comes back and maybe Wilson.

Not breaking into the Jets wr core cant leave a lot of options...you'd think....its not exactly a stacked room over there. Hopefully he comes back ASAP!!

Someone needs to tell him you can carve out a great career in this league with pretty good compensation.

Id add interior dline..we have 2 good pieces...but no depth behind them and we aren't rostering 2 guys who likely help in woods and Bailey

Oline Canadian depth is pretty slim Pickens too

Our main issue really is coaching and how we use guys...and what appears to be an OC in way over his head and a guy not able to answer things in the moment

Funny part of this whole thing is we can kinda control our fate if we smarten up a bit and can get hot and run off a string of 5 or 6 wins in a row continuing this weekend

I agree we need more from our O-Line and our D-Line....

On the positive note, Allen and Vaval, and Lawson Jr. are getting better on the D...

Schoen may be ready for real, and Ontaria Wilson could be back as well, both will greatly improve our receiving core....

The addition of Houston on D should improve our pass defense, since key pieces will no longer feel the need to compensate...

Collaros appears to be using his mobility more suddenly, again, which makes the O-Line less of a priority than the D-Line, which needs to create much more pressure to take that same pressure off the D-Backs...Perhaps the return of Lawson on the D-Line will help?

We have some holes that's for sure....

Bombers are tied for 3rd in the league behind Sask Calgary and tied with the offensive juggernaut Ticats.

I mean. The reality is the bombers are better than a few people think. They aren’t the dominant bombers of days gone by but I think that’s more on the D than the O. Bombers D used to be dominant. Bombers O never was, always middle of the pack kinda where they are now in lots of O categories. The difference this year is our D is giving up more points and are leading the league in explosion plays against. That really hasn’t been a thing here in recent memory. The O has their 1 or 2 45 50 point games a year but on average probably mid 20s to late 20s points on average historically. There was a point where our D didn’t allow any points in the 4th quarter for like years in a row. Not so much right now. Medlock was kicking 5 fgs a night also.

We have only played 1 plus 500 team right now anyways but BC was 1 and 0 when We beat them. We have lost to 1 team 3 times and 1 team once. We haven’t played 2 of the 4 (in reality 2 of the 3 cuz we are 1 of the 4 teams above 500) and Montreal was 5 and 5 so I mean pretty tough to beat teams above 500 when you have really only played 1 team who is currently above it. Bc is under 500 but we beat them twice. If not they would be above 500. 500 in a 9 team league when 4 teams including us are above 500 is pretty ridiculous honestly. I mean that’s like plus minus in hockey. Doesn’t mean **** dude.

We beat BC, EDM, TOR, OTT. 4 of the bottom 4 teams. We also beat MTL with their 4th string QB and 4 other major injuries. Next 3 weeks, we play 2 of the top 3 teams. Quite frankly, our record is better than our team.

We dont make the schedule, only thing we can say is Stamps are better than us right now. Next two games will tell the story

But, for example, the Montreal D was not really limited, but the Bombers' O did well. It all depends how you choose to see things.

So I'm really looking at guys available to us... and I am fine with adams, Lawson and woods as the basis for the 3 interior guys and now that person is more and more involved i like Jefferson,  vaughters and person at the ends.

So in terms of can it be patched yeah the pieces I think are there. Just gotta stop trying for force a couple try hards.

We beat BC in week two who were 1-0.     So yes we have beat a team that was +.500 when we played them.

The league only has 3 other teams (CGY/SSK/HAM) who are over .500 and two of those teams we have not played a game against them yet.    We lost to Calgary 3 times and to Toronto once....  Saskatchewan just lost to Calgary despite having the best record in the league?      I don't understand your point?

When we played them isn't what I was looking at. I'm saying that after half a season, we haven't beaten a current +.500 team. It doesn't matter if they were +.500 when we played them, especially in our first game.
