The ratio is wrong for Cooley as running back is a canadian spot. So, how do we keep him?

Teach him the slot and to return...hes already shown he can catch and make stuff happen after the catch...plus he can run the jet sweeps and that inside handoff that Demski kinda sucks at more than busts runs

Vaval returns punts both return kick offs. Cooley becomes the back up wr as we have done in the past with guys like gmc. Then we di Sergio and probably Ayers.
Cooleys been better catching passes than our fa wr vets.

If Brady went down we’d be pooched way more than if an imp wr did. Plus we could spell Brady more, use him as a pass catcher more, and keep him healthy.

Yeah...can call him a slot hybrid and do a lot of stuff out off backfield and motion plays...that would open stuff right up as defences would have to key on him and dedicate a guy to him...Likely their top LB

If we can make space for Greg Mccrae we can find room for anyone.

we DI’d a couple wrs not to play them a single snap the past few years.
Tim Flanders is still sitting waiting for that 2back set to materialize too.

Brady is like any other power running back. He wants the ball & gets better with the more carries he gets. I don't think Oliveira would be effecive with 10-12 carries a game. He needs it 15, 20 or 25 times.

Cooley had less than 100 yards receiving in four years of college, caught three passes in preseason, and now we’re converting him to a sb?

IMO our two Canadian rbs will be gameday backups, and Cooley will go the pr.

Said he'd never taken a screen pass in his life until our first PS game... He was a "workhorse back" he told DT. Just ran and ran and ran.... But said that he CAN catch, obviously, and wants a chance to show that ..

Lots of power backs these days don’t get tons of carries. Plus Brady had 2 games last year over 20 carries none of 25. 3 20 plus the previous year just one of 25 carries.
It isn’t about Carries, touches are important but it’s more important to have well set up threats across the line. Jet sweep + 2 other running threats means no more trying to drop the helmet into a pile of linemen 10 times a game. More yards and less wear.

I don’t think he will lose interest, but he could end up else where.

Think of it this way, if he's on the PR he gets to hangout, compete and learn from professionals every day, plus he gets paid to train instead of having to work a side job to make ends meet.  I don't believe in the history of the world any player has ever returned to the Rifles and bounced back to the Bombers a year later.

I don’t doubt he can become a good receiver out of the backfield with time, but find it extremely optimistic to think he can fill the role of our backup receiver on the gameday roster.

slot back here isn’t like slot in the us. It’s not converting, no one said that. It’s using him as a multi position threat that backs up a situation that’s fairly rarely needed.

I think Davis was in camp with the Bombers last year as well.

I get that but idk if he benefits more from regular reps at a lower level or higher level coaching and completion with few snaps.

Well there’s basically no one that’s went from the Rifles to the CFL who isn’t a long snapper.

He can also play for the Rifles and be on Bombers PR.

There’s no way Cooley makes the active roster. He’s Pigrome V2. I think he’s a great player but the preseason hype is out of control and we’re trying to play fantasy football to justify his value. “I’ll just put him in the flex” … there’s no logistically sound way to fit him on our active roster unless we end up with an injury to Brady.

But have you thought about Right Tackle?

If he turns his shoulders completely toward our end zone after the snap he’s eligible to receive a hand off off of the line.

Could easily run that play 8-9 times a game.

I heard he stubbed his pinky on the plane back to Winnipeg and unfortunately it will cause him to be on the 1 game IR until it will miraculously heal when Olivera gets nicked up.
