Honestly the move I find the most puzzling, as jbr mentioned earlier, is how sterns made the cut.
I like his effort and toughness. He was solid but unspectacular in camp. Brutal in preseason games. He didn’t put play any one. I like the guy but he didn’t show up. And we are already keeping Mitchell who also didn’t show up for camp or pre season.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that the last three cups could have been won if a few key veterans had been jettisoned in favor of fresher blood each year.

Definitely 2022, and 2023 if Bighill had been sat instead of playing.

I'm not sure there is any kind of agenda. I think MOS believes he is putting the best football team on the field, he just has a different way of going about it, where he values experience, character, and attitude more than a typical coach might. And this makes him loyal to players... to a fault.

But I'd also point out that rookies DO make their way onto the Bombers eventually. It's just usually not on day one, and at the expense of an established veteran. This management/coaching team seems to like bringing guys along on the practice roster for some time before giving them spots over veterans. If you look at guys like Devin Adams, Jamal Woods, Bridges, Randolph, Vanterpool, Wheatfall, Ayers..... they all came in last year and may not have been on the team day one or roster regulars but now they are. There's a good chance guys like Cam Allen, Woodbey and Cooley play big roles this year or into the future.

But Evans should have made it over Sheahan, sick of Sheahan.

Only time a rookie has a fair and legit chance here is due to catastrophic injury...or player previous yr left team and we had no viable replacement in house...and we are too rigid in our ratio and how we deploy...if a guy is legit the best in a position...but we deem it Canadian...good luck making the team...and that too is stupidity

This is a good way to summarize how I feel. We stayed with status quo and let the rest of the league catch up.

Yup..Status quo since 2021...how's that worked out right?? and dont get me going on the people who spew "yeah but 5 trips to the cup" who effin cares if u lose stupidly...how but the "yeah but if we had an adequate roster...and guys to step in to cover injuries" argument....both statements are relevant ...the latter moreso

Evans was better.....why the hell we stick with Sheahan I don't know.....Maybe cuz he's Irish ????   O'Shea sees something we don't ...looking through green glasses maybe....Not enthused with that move ....certainly glad we put Cooley on the pr and a few others who showed they belong here

That and adequate depth so not to play clearly injured guys

Looks like a lot of the guys you liked during TC/pre season are on the practice roster… MOS’ loyalty could be the downfall again.

That and stupid roster/pr construction...sadly

Osh said he liked that goofy crap punt style...obviously still is firm in his Haines about it...

Our entire defense aside from Jefferson Gauthier and Thomas has turned over since 2022.

Kickers, receivers.

Not sure the emotional reaction to cut down day is warranted.  But I guess football is too boring.

Wilson? Scmeck been here 3 yrs now...Nichols...I agree there been some turnover but a lot was due to defection/retirement/nfl...so we had to essentially...but we also havnt adequately replaced our interior...have the horses but still use crappy Canadians way too much...what end has been here more than a yr really? Who was the mlb in waiting?? Its not T.Jones...that was more a move of convenience/status quo...if J.Jones is not the "actual" starter/main guy 80 percent of reps that will tell u all u need to know how Osh sets his roster...same with if it's Jake...especially if we don't need to roll with a DLineman to suit ratio

gotta be......just a bad decision...Anyway we stick with inferior and it sure as hell doesn't make any sense....Field position doesn't mean much I guess....in the punting or return game.....It's costing us

Yeah...I wonder who is the returner?? I'd rather see us just use Cobb...deal with adequate but non spectacular returns in week one and use that DA on one the defensive spots and see how they perform...then worry about where Logan fits in and how to get him on

We go 3 import oline...that's crippling to the defence

Why you think Cyril Penn jammed outta town...could of got a promote here but why bust your ass all offseason only to see the talent shipped outta town or never played in favour of a coach's wet dream player?? It wasn't a coincidence btw....players also talk too...I think that's part of reason we have been complaining last few yrs as to why didnt go after...or land this guy..that guy.. why come here...see your role minimized and see yiur dollars go down next contract from lack of stats/impact?

Did any of the free agent signings get cut?

Winnipeg should be a preferred destination for free agents because there is that bias of keeping vets over rookies.

I mean the chances of cutting someone you paid bonus money to based on training camp is almost nil unless the guy runs afoul of the law or flat refuses to play.

Did any free agent signings get cut around the league?  Montreal cut a RB they paid $18,000 to, Toronto cut Carey, Hollins cut by Edmonton but only costs BC salary space.

I think what happened is that they decided to focus Dillon Mitchell on the return duty when Logan went down.  They like having their returner focus on that duty and then chip in in other areas. Might explain why he wasn’t given a serious look at being a starting receiver.

I don’t think that happened because he barely got any reps and only in the 2nd preseason game.

We're used to O'Shea hanging onto pet veterans when it is obvious they are done. Frustrating, though.

Curious to see who we actually roster week 2.

If its say: WJ/Vaughters/Woods/Adams/Lawson/Kornelson/Jake/Schemekel on the Dline, I'll be pissed because that's bad. Now if they say use Bailey as the 2nd global and take off Kornelson and say take Wilson or Ayers off at LB and use Pearson, I'd be happy.

For linebacker using say Jones, Jones as starters and then using 2 DIs spots on Wilson and Ayers is poor roster management to me. Especially when you have Gauthier, Smith, Shay etc to take some of those reps.

Bailey for sure would be on the AR. We need 2 globals in the lineup. I beieve Weitz was hurt.

My 2 cents....I mostly like it, we kept some great potential on the pr....I do question our punter, but maybe he is an amazing holder....

I don't think we need to worry about JT as much as the air time he gets...I think he is insurance in case Lawson' s injury fares up....

I also don't think we need to worry about Wilson as much either as when healthy he is really good ...but he NEVER stays healthy...so I figure that spot will change soon....
