All things considered...

All in all...another disappointment, and there are several reasons for it again...constants if you may call them that and really easily solved...and many won't like hearing this and will blindly disagree, but it's easily fixed if Osh would pull his head partly out his arse. The onus this off-season is on Walters and his team to sign and bring in the talent...and also part ways with some guys...even if the coach disagrees. I cannot see Miller being happy, nor he wanting a major bedshitting at home next yr in the Cup...let alone not even getting to the Cup...

Thru necessity and not choice we have had to get younger and thats a plus...there are some solid pieces here now to go with keeping the right vets...and thats they key part of it...right vets. And by vet i mean a guy who's been here this yr and before

Lawler and Schoen..Strev...Wilson...Clercius...BO...Demski...Woli ..MCI...Wallace....Bryant...Randolph...Eli......WJ...Nichols...Bonds...Ford...Holm...Griffin...Kramdi...Kelly...Cole...Garbutt....Woods....Adams...Lawson...was on fence with Haba but he stepped up so deserves another shot......Ayers...Hubert..,,Samson...Chris Smith deserves another shot....Person....Qb Wilson....Hubert deserves another camp....I'd love to see Notree back....thats the core we need to focus on retaining....fill in around that...everyone not mentioned who wasn't primarily a ST guy should not be back...and saves up some serious SMS bucks...and makes us younger...hungrier....better

On the fence with ZC and his hefty contract....he will be another yr older and do we want another season of stats only to stumble in play-offs? It seems to be the trend and not a one off....

We have the guys to maintain a core like we seem to like to do...but a younger core....and we need to go that route...and this is totally up to our HC now to do the right thing(s)

We are set up for continued sustained success....but we need to bring the right players along for it...We need a stud interior dlineman to augment what we have...we need a legit difference maker linebacker...we need a real returner....we need another proven Canadian offensive lineman...we need a real punter....I see 5 dire needs...which isn't a lot in the grand scheme....and the biggest thing we need to do is construct the roster and the PR aa an entity that compliments and covers it....no more carrying wasted spots....or guys all yr that will never bump anyone off...we seem to do that a lot too

And the biggest key...we need to dress and play the best players we have...regardless of birth certificate and or position...and if that means moving pieces around and switching ratio spots...so be it

No need for spin unless you are Buck. The fans agree with Brady.

  • All this stuff is just excuses... fact is they opted to play an injured player rather than give a healthy player the chance. They need to own that decision as a coaching staff.

  • The truth is that Bighill, Jake Thomas, Brandon Alexander and Kolankowski are blocking the developmental path for better, younger (and cheaper) players. But all this has been said ad nauseum.

Demean, denigrate and disparage all you like. But being among the greatest head coaches in the history of the most successful and storied Canadian football team after a mere 4 years at the helm is no mean feat. If we win 8 games next year, he'll be tied with Leo Cahill for 3rd most wins.

Some teams have a history that includes long stretches of great coaching. Especially the buono teams.
The Argos and bombers are not those teams. We’ve both succeeding with fleeting runs of truly top level coaching.
Mos and dinwiddie are quickly rising in the ranks of all time coaches when it comes to wins and gcs. And dinwiddie is a brilliant tactician. Neither guy has entered the level of buono, the don, etc.

It’s like Emmitt smith becoming the all time rushing leader. He isn’t a top 5 back of all time or in that tier. He is for forever in the shadow of Guys like Payton, sanders and brown.

The Don is a legend around here. And Coach Din (46) is going to pass him (49) and likely Cahill (54) this coming season. Then he only has Pinball (67) and Obie (89). And Dinwiddie has the highest win percentage of them and if he gets one more cup here he'll pass every one of our post WW2 coaches.

Remarkable stuff.

I'd do the same lookup for O'Shea (and Mass, who I have been very impressed with), but the Wiki for the Bombers coaches only says it goes to the end of the 2022 season. One of you guys should go edit it.

EDIT: Pretty sure that O'Shea owns most of your HC records now?

For some of us, don't care.

Welcome to a Winnipeg Blue Bomber site.

Enjoy your stay.

I would add 'in general' right after the word Toronto. 🙂

Watched a podcast with Dinwiddie last year, seemed to indicate he has a pretty high interest in coaching in the US, college or pro.  Like Mike Riley, still being young he might be an attractive option to take over a college program and grow from there.  Unless he's developed a fond attachment to living in Toronto, he could be long-gone within a season or two.

Toronto who didn't play 10 or 11 Canadians won the Grey Cup by fielding the best team they possibly could by playing 7 Canadians. We didn't.  Trying so hard... not.... to.... mention... Jake... Thomas.

For the record, in the Grey Cup Toronto started nine NATs (4 o-line, 2 receivers, DE-LB-S) and used one other (Mital) on a lot offensive snaps.

i really don't care about other teams. I care about the Bombers. Am I supposed to be impressed by this? That Dinwiddie followed O'Shea's roster decisions by playing more Canadians than he could have? Not really. I didn't see a Canadian starter on the Argos even remotely close to the ineffectiveness of Jake Thomas. The Argos roster of Canadians were better than ours. It gave them flexibility. Our starting Canadians (in certain positions) hurt us.

nothing wrong with starting an extra Canadian or using in heavy rotation....if they are good enough, AND...thats a big and...the best option...around here....it's not even a consideration with Osh.....and believe it of you want...or dont...but it hurts us and one could just imagine the even better success we could have had

Other than Thomas, which other one hurt you.

Wasn't Ford

Wasn't Kramdi

What hurt you guys was a QB, who cut the finger on his throwing hand.

Roster was not the issue in our loss whatsoever. Had no impact on the outcome at all.

Collaros' finger injury was just the cherry on top of a dismal performance by the offence and an inability of the OC to compensate for the Argo defensive plan.

It's clear Pierce was out in vancouver closing the head coaching gig not game planning

like a lot of football games, key plays going the Argos way hurt us big time - fumble by Fanny that the Argos recover, next play Lucky fumbles and Argos score a TD.  Had we recovered that fumble, who knows how the game goes.  Another killer was the screw up on the blocked punt.  Had Ayers or whoever it was not screwed up we would have had the ball in great field position, instead Argos keep the ball after a heroic D stand.  It was just a lot of mistakes, that we expect other teams to make, not us.

Something like that. I don't know where his head was during the game, but I bet he could see his pancreas from there.

I mean the entire season really. Hands down his worst year as a coach last year start to finish.

We were the 3rd best team in the league last year. We were only in the cup because the top 2 were in the same division.

True, blasting past the inept Riders in the WF was a false flag.  Just re-watched that game and 3 of the Bombers TD's were scored on dropped coverage, it was too easy.  With the play of that secondary they really didn't deserve to get that far.

It absolutely was not a false flag. We dominated the west last year. It was just Toronto and Montreal we had a ton of trouble with.
