All things considered...

All in all...another disappointment, and there are several reasons for it again...constants if you may call them that and really easily solved...and many won't like hearing this and will blindly disagree, but it's easily fixed if Osh would pull his head partly out his arse. The onus this off-season is on Walters and his team to sign and bring in the talent...and also part ways with some guys...even if the coach disagrees. I cannot see Miller being happy, nor he wanting a major bedshitting at home next yr in the Cup...let alone not even getting to the Cup...

Thru necessity and not choice we have had to get younger and thats a plus...there are some solid pieces here now to go with keeping the right vets...and thats they key part of it...right vets. And by vet i mean a guy who's been here this yr and before

Lawler and Schoen..Strev...Wilson...Clercius...BO...Demski...Woli ..MCI...Wallace....Bryant...Randolph...Eli......WJ...Nichols...Bonds...Ford...Holm...Griffin...Kramdi...Kelly...Cole...Garbutt....Woods....Adams...Lawson...was on fence with Haba but he stepped up so deserves another shot......Ayers...Hubert..,,Samson...Chris Smith deserves another shot....Person....Qb Wilson....Hubert deserves another camp....I'd love to see Notree back....thats the core we need to focus on retaining....fill in around that...everyone not mentioned who wasn't primarily a ST guy should not be back...and saves up some serious SMS bucks...and makes us younger...hungrier....better

On the fence with ZC and his hefty contract....he will be another yr older and do we want another season of stats only to stumble in play-offs? It seems to be the trend and not a one off....

We have the guys to maintain a core like we seem to like to do...but a younger core....and we need to go that route...and this is totally up to our HC now to do the right thing(s)

We are set up for continued sustained success....but we need to bring the right players along for it...We need a stud interior dlineman to augment what we have...we need a legit difference maker linebacker...we need a real returner....we need another proven Canadian offensive lineman...we need a real punter....I see 5 dire needs...which isn't a lot in the grand scheme....and the biggest thing we need to do is construct the roster and the PR aa an entity that compliments and covers it....no more carrying wasted spots....or guys all yr that will never bump anyone off...we seem to do that a lot too

And the biggest key...we need to dress and play the best players we have...regardless of birth certificate and or position...and if that means moving pieces around and switching ratio spots...so be it

No need for spin unless you are Buck. The fans agree with Brady.

  • All this stuff is just excuses... fact is they opted to play an injured player rather than give a healthy player the chance. They need to own that decision as a coaching staff.

  • The truth is that Bighill, Jake Thomas, Brandon Alexander and Kolankowski are blocking the developmental path for better, younger (and cheaper) players. But all this has been said ad nauseum.

Thanks. Is that before the renegotiation of his deal? Idk how that might’ve shifted his numbers around if not. But it’s a lot better than 600k with 350-450k guaranteed that I thought he had.

We sure as hell can find someone who could play as well as Collaros did in the Cup game for that money.

We could find that for 6 bucks or 3 Burger King coupons.

He restructured his old deal in 2021 and signed this deal in 2022.  I don't think there's been any other changes since - at least none a quick search turns up.

Our OL has not been good since 2022, especially in pass protection.

It's still better than BC's.

And better than the Riders' O-line but that is cold comfort.

There were periods that I'm not sure it was... see 2nd regular season game vs. Toronto as an example...

This OL is still living off 2021 reputation, but the interior was Hella weak mostnofnthe season

Risky business, which younger QB do you think could step in and knock off a 12-14 win season?

Adams easily could but he's expensive, I also like the young qb from Montreal & I like Powell from Hamilton.

If you think Adams is expensive, what do you think of Collaros' contract?

dead weight...anchor...albotross....nightmare?....

The Vaj I bet would do great here....with BO...his ability to move...2 guys like Lawler and Schoen....Likely a guy or 2 who would follow him here....I'd roll with Vaj as Wilson is groomed...he looks way more advanced and a much better skill set than Brown had/showed after his rookie yr.

People like to dump on VAJ but from what I have heard with talking to players...guys love him...he's team first and not a locker room cancer....if anything the opposite....Some guys have said he can get a little too emotional, but it's cause he cares

I'd be OK going forward with VAJ, I just don't see how he lands here without him and/or Zach being willing to redo their deals.  Both guys have guarantees (ZC in 2025 & VAJ in 2026) & we wouldn't be able to afford VAJ next year if we have to eat Zach's guarantee next year without sacrificing in other areas.

Anyone think that Calgary would be willing to trade for Zach?

That's the only way I can see them getting VAJ?

Otherwise maybe Edmonton cuts MBT and they would go for him?

Are we so far gone that VAJ seems like a viable option?? C'mon fellas it's not THAT bad.....

As a player, he is considerably more than merely viable.

It's his guaranteed $500k next year that isn't. Neither for you, nor for BC.

i was gonna say...some kind f 3 way deal where we swap VAJ and ZC

There are very few (if any) elite options available and it's not like we're talking FAJ here.   I would say VAJ is the best available right now (Davis or Powell could be down the road but haven't proven it yet).

Zach is clearly on a downward trajectory and that isn't even considering Grey Cup performance. I think we need to consider every option.

What’s wrong with Adams? Seriously

He's not one of us.

O'shea will never be willing to move on from Collaros. It is what it is. They should re-structure his contract though. He's not worth 600k today.

VAJ is poor man's Burris. He seems like a whiner with an ego who puts himself first. Honestly I'd rather have Trevor Harris and that is REALLY saying something.... Cause I don't want him either. Maybe that Alexander kid from Montreal.... And obviously Brown would be my first choice.

If we cut Zac (we won't) we pay him $250K. If we keep him we pay him $600K. The question is... is it worth the sunk $250K to move on from Collaros and go to a younger QB? I'd say it is, but I totally understand folks who say it isn't.

I'd say it's a big gamble to move on from him with a GC host year. He's our guy.

Nobody else out there that puts in a better position, IMO

We'd be get used to the idea of one more all in year and then expect a step back for a few years

Losing the Grey Cup at home would be tight.

I'd say it's an equally big gamble to stick with Collaros considering he's been on a downward trajectory for a couple of years now.

I don't think that Collaros will knock off a 12-14 win season next year, so that's not the bar I'd worry about.

VAJ is the best available QB, behind our O line, he could be amazing.

Ford can make every throw and can run like the wind. He'd be my 2nd choice.

Alexander showed great promise, but he's got very few reps. Not ready for the starting QB job, but would be a great #2 for either of the above QB's.

BTW: Do you think that any team would trade for Collaros and his overly large contract.

Ford is erratic at best and I wouldn't trust him to hit the broad side of a barn with any regularity let alone be willing to hand him the keys to what has been a model franchise the last half decade.

Don't get me wrong. I love making fun of VAJ, I think he is a bit of a wiener and one of those over the top fake "good guys", and I would be the first to turn on him if things didn't work out.

But if I had to put money on who will have a better season at QB next year between him and Zach I don't think its going to be close.

Knowing it probably won't be a factor for next season, stick with Wilson, develop him as our future #1 QB down the road?
