I’m honestly not even that mad over this loss. I was crushed in 22, and 23 because it felt like we were in control most of the game but couldn’t put it away. This year it felt like we were hanging by a thread all game.

in all honesty.....I put out the "positive" vibe.....was more a hope....but truly expected this...and figured in playoffs if we were to fail again....would be mainly due to coaching....roster....preparedness...and essentially was that....many guys had poor games...but were they really prepared adequately....and even if they executed whater the game plan was flawlessy...would it have mattered....I dont think so

That being said....6 yrs in a row...and 3 of 6 aint that bad....right?

In 2022 & 2023, we had hope right until the end so it was more crushing.  We didn't have that hope last night so it was more anger than anything else for me.

2 & out after the half was when I knew it was over.

Officials were bad, lots of blatant holding not called but that's to be expected in the cfl and the random command centre calling down on a nothing play...

But all of that said, make some plays and the Officials don't matter.

The one that sticks out for me, we're up 7-3 early but can't get it to 14 and settle for a field goal.

Could of taken some life out of them early but who knows.

Zach needs to step up and call timeout there on 1st and 10.  Issues with helmet communication, muck up the play call, lose a down basically.  Yeah only a 4 point difference but like you said, huge difference in momentum when it's more than a 1 score game.

Some thoughts and remarks that I made to my wife while we were watching the game (expletives removed):

Although the coin toss was botched by the official, we won the toss (only thing that we won yesterday) and actually chose to receive the ball.

Not a great start by the offence. The offside/illegal procedure on the first play was an omen, I guess, suggesting to me that the team wasn’t prepared.

These idiotic gambling commercials have got to go. Gambling on beanbag toss? Pregame, TSN talking heads were touting and Fan Duel had odds on which song the Jonas Brothers would open with. Give me a break!

Offensive play calling was unimaginative at best and offensive at worst. Buck was calling plays like he had one foot out the door (BC coaching offer rumor). I’m all for a change at the OC position.

At one point, while he was still working with all digits, Collaros was 6 of 16. Those are not winning numbers.

Lucky Whitehead has lost more than a step. Oh yeah, I forgot that it didn’t matter because he was still a sure-handed returner. Hmmm.

Don’t often see that interference penalty called on that blocked punt but the rule is in the book and Wilson did interfere with the Argo player. Wilson, a vet, should have known better!

The Bombers screwed this up themselves. No one else is to blame.

Jefferson played pretty well given the constraints that he was under.

Disappointed in Bombers preparation and execution and Collaros playing poorly didn’t help.

Lawler’s feet are too big. Actually, I thought the ball of his foot touched in bounds followed by his heel (out of bounds). I don’t know the rule on that.

On the first pick 6, it sure looked like the Argo lineman on the right edge was offside. No call by the on-field officials, nothing from above and I assume not challengeable. I don’t think that they had a replay from that angle.

Collaros injures a finger on his throwing hand (severely…stitches?) and has never worn a glove on that hand and he’s put back into the game and the first play is a long toss that is intercepted????

I thought Wilson showed some composure when thrown into the breech. His ball to Lawler, who was open, was underthrown but I thought his throw in Wheatfall’s direction was good and could have been caught.

I thought in spite of the fact that they were getting no pressure on Arbuckle, the D played OK to a point. However, why they weren’t trying to get more pressure on him is baffling. (He looked a little flustered the one or two times he was pressured.)  I saw Hall in the booth so I’m guessing that he has a great influence on the Bomber D.

Lots of uncharacteristic (lazy?) penalties by veteran Bombers (e.g., Demski) And if he were hurt perhaps he shouldn’t have been playing.

All in all, it was an embarrassing performance by the Bombers especially the offense and including a few of the coaches.

I’ll be back next year! Go Bombers Go!

How many of those were dropped?

All I wrote was that 6 for 16 were not winning numbers...seems to me that drops or misses are irrelevant.

Demski had a bad drop....maybe one other was a bit iffy but contested none the less.....still....QB needs to also throw guys open....or put it in spots that they have the advantage

Just looking for context... cause honestly I didn't feel collaros was the problem prior to his finger injury.

For sure. I mean tons of drops and the play calling was terrible. All those quick short passes we were doing during the 8 game winning streak were thrown out the window. We attacked Toronto like we attacked Saskatchewan and it was a mistake. If you want to come out aggressive that’s one thing but clearly it wasn’t working out and the fact that Zach and Buck didn’t adapt ended up costing us big time.

It wasn't working because the receivers weren't making catches...

Wheatfall did muff that for sure. Wilson's other 3 passes were god awful.

Not good at all, but what else would you expect when his butt has been stapled to the bench all season?

I appreciate your opinion but even taking out a drop (Demski) or two, his completion % would still be less than his regular season one (>70%). I also thought that his O-line, surprisingly, gave him ample time to go through his reads.

This game was decided early in Toronto.

The poor coaching and offence is totally overshadowing the fact that we got fn jobbed hard by the refs, TSN and command center. I watched that Lawler catch over and over with the only replay angle they gave us...and I couldn't see his heel touch the line. Likewise a pass breakup on Demski or Lawler where the DB was way early and they never even gave us a fn replay. All the non-calls for holding (which I know can go both ways) and obvious offsides not called...but the lack of replays on close plays was a real tell that they didn't want us examining the calls.

Demski gassed a couple,  Lawler had the out of bounds catch... right there you're up to 9 of 16 which is better, and I am a big believer in momentum. Was the same thing in 2022. They missed some opportunities to move the ball early.and the offense never got going.

Didn't cost us the game, but made it very clear that we would have had to destroy the Argos to win it. It was decided very early.

As a DB fan, some of it was they weren't getting open.

recievers made a few gaffs....but not like ZC was throwing dimes....throwing gyus open or hitting guys in stride....last yr...yr and a half thats been a rare sighting

If Walters and miller do not have a war council (with or without O'Shea), we are going to be in worse shape next season. I can put up with a bit of a down year if a new head coach and possibly assistant coaches settle in, but if there is no change, I will be pretty scarce around here (cue thunderous applause).

Yeah maybe we will start off 0 and 4 and be 2 and 6 at one point and then win the west and be in another cup final.

how awful. Much rather miss all together   Honestly. Some of you got As in drama class.

I wonder...If Strev wasnt hurt...does he come in and stay in and drag this team to victory?....I think he does

But...I think Wilson could have too....T.O had zero tape on him and the guy showed poise and a crazy arm...plus he is mobile....I see good things in his future if we develop him like we did Brown...He seems more ready at this juncture than Brown did too...Look forward to his development next yr for sure

I think Terry Wilson will be a good one too. He’s clearly got the arm strength and honestly looks as good or better than Brown did when he first got here.

Still think they should have put Dolegala in last night though, experience counts for a lot in that situation.

It's time to see some change.   Have the younger guys push these vets.     I'm ok letting Schoen walk but please take Jake Thomas with you.    As much as I like Bighill, he can walk too.  We need to generate new talent and open the road for future stars.

There's not gonna be drastic change when we're hosting the GC. Or at least not the suggested "be okay with a down year" to rebuild. Not gonna happen.

I think they did a partial rebuild in season, but I really think the best advice is what JBR said: Have Zach tell you exactly who and what he wants to surround himself with, and then go buy it. Take whatever penalties you need to, to put the most talent on the field.

And while I'm not going to whine and stomp and cry about veta getting tossed, I do agree that Thomas and Bighill (among others) need to be, as respectfully as possible, moved into the next phase of their lives.

I am ******* DEPRESSED today... And I'm gonna need some time away from football breaking my heart again....but come spring, I'll be ready to fly. I'm excited for full season tickets next year and hopefully being in town for both a WF and GC.

No matter what, Let's ****** Go, Blue.... #FortHew #DefendTheFort
