Bombers at Als lead up

Gotta think Montreal will be resting starters after this game, maybe rotate a couple in here and there. Don't see Fajardo starting, we need a big bounce back game to secure the West.

  • Glad to see Haba was taken off and Adams kept on.  Didn't think it would happen.

  • Interesting lineup....MCI...ELI...Wallace....expect a lot of brutality on offence and a classic Bomber pound the rock game Loving the dline set-up....now just limit Thomas reps....well...minimize

This is probably the best constructed roster they've had all year so let's not complain about things like that too loudly.

Noted :)

Loving the dline set-up....now just limit Thomas reps....well...minimize/eliminate them would be ideal but a lot of options there now....I expect Adams lined up in multiple roles...well should be

Als are weak against the run so just jam the football down their throats

appears to be the case

and considering that we likely only declare 1...2 at most nationals on defense for ratio...there is literally no reason to have Thomas take any reps really....maybe 3 or so a half just because, but heavy use of Garbutt/WJ/Adams/Woods/Fox  is more than enough rotation to keep them fresh, especially since we will likely do a lot of 3 man fronts again....which I like...but also dont....so getting bagged out won't be an issue...and really....the youth and athleticism of all the Imports up front can play snap after snap anyway....

I’m okay with the 3 man fronts, as long as they don’t totally telegraph that only 3 are rushing and occasionally send a LB.  And of course, don’t have Thomas as one of the three.

I like Fox on for Haba... Adams can take reps at DE... and we know he's been a load to handle there... if we could find a competent Canadian DE to include in the rotation (which still might be Hubert but obviously the teams feels he needs some more seasoning first) we could get back to having a dominant D-line... which was so key to our success in '19 and '21

agreed....as it stands Thomas is just there in body and holding a place on roster...does little...offers even less moving forward..Schmeck I thouhgt would take a step forward but really hasnt...and we have Lawson coming back next yr...so really the other 2 dt's can be scrubbed for a versatile end type

I rarely watch the NFL but watched a bit of the Rams/Vikings game cuz it was on where I was and saw how important a really good nose tackle can be.

I would prefer ram instead of jam but I’m just being picky. :)

Any word on Mtls depth chart?

Lineup notes:

The Alouettes will be making a handful of changes ahead of this game. They’ll be welcoming Austin Mack, Walter Fletcher, Brock Gowanlock and Theo Grant back in the lineup. Receiver Tyjon Lindsey will be making his Alouettes debut. He’ll be handling return duties with James Letcher Jr. sitting out this week.

Josh Donovan, who appeared to suffer a lower-body injury in last Saturday’s game against the B.C. Lions, won’t be in the lineup. He’s been placed on the one-game injured list. Defensive end Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund is also out.

Heading into this final game of the season, Adeyemi-Berglund leads the team in quarterback sacks, with seven.

Star defensive tackle Mustafa Johnson will miss his third straight game. He’s second on the team in sacks, with three.

Offensive tackle Jamar McGloster, who replaced Donovan in B.C., is considered a game-time decision for this game. The veteran was the starter at right tackle in the second half of last season and the Grey Cup, but he’s been limited to one game due to a back injury.

I don’t blame Montreal. They don’t want to be one and done in the playoffs last Toronto was last season. They haven’t played great in the second half of the season and this game can inspire a lot of confidence for the ALs heading into the playoffs. Ultimately for Winnipeg we’re in this situation for a reason.  We still control our own destiny. To be the best we have to beat the best so looking forward to seeing a focused hungry Winnipeg team that’s going to take care of business and wrap up the western finals.

I still expect similar game time management as last week for them.  They want the confidence but they don't want to get needlessly banged up either - they already lost the starting RT last week and his replacement is a GTD so they don't want to add to that list.

That’s really the big thing that could hold us back. That and bucks play call. Other wise, this roster is excellent.
I’d love to see an aggressive rotation of guys like Cole, ayers, and jones. I don’t wanna see either hallett in covering guys. And a good volume of snaps for Adam’s/fox.
If we do that mtl is in trouble. If buck doesn’t trip over his playbook and get stuck in a flashback to Lapo this will be a slam dunk.

100%

I would hope/think the Hallett experiment in on some set's is scrubbed as over and over again he has been burned...exploited...targeted....like how many times do we need to keep going down that path?

Even the dressing of both Hallets...is kinda poor...and isn't making us better....We be better served putting Karmoko in ...Charbonneau...even give Hubert or Samson some playtime.....with Bridges...one Hallett...Griffin...we have more than enough coverage if a DB goes down...especially if Karamoko was dressed

And healthy dose of our import dline in various looks...Sprinkle in Cole and Ayers doing things with the 3 man front....hard to attack that

Mcgloster sure would be nice over Lofton.
Boy you could almost make a better ol of ex bombers in the league than we have.

Yeah, Noah has sure lost a lot with injuries. Had high hopes for both and they kinda just back fill the roster now.
Karamoko would be a nice replacement for sure. I’m hoping we see some more youth movement in the off season replacing Noah.

yeah I really would love to see ayers and Cole on the field together. Seeing. Cole at S with two imp lbers would be nice too.

I really want to see Adam’s, woods, and fox out in the 30 front. Running wj as a jack would be even better. I think sending him to rush as a stand up guy would add a lot of longevity to his career.  But those 3 as 3i 0/1 would be a huge handful.

oh baby....and 3 active LB's....Griffin...and Nichols..Bonds..Ford locking things down...gimme that on a plate and soak it up with a biscuit!

That's certainly the logical approach. I do wonder if Maas' ego will see it similarly. Best case scenario they go all out, we hammer them anyway and they limp (literally) into the playoffs.

not sure that Cole is a great cover guy at safety, but I do like the idea of Griffin in at that spot. He's got good speed and football sense as well as a good tackler. would really make our secondary even more formidable
