Since we've now seen the Bombers and Riders after week 1, opinions, predictions etc...

Riders D looked decent but, not saying much vs Edmonton who hasn't won a home game since WW1. Bombers put up Grey Cup bound (predicted) 42 points on Hamilton....WITHOUT LAWLER. I can't wait until this guy is back, the Oline vs their d line will be interesting.

I'm not convinced that Cole or another DB shouldn't be on instead of Jackson.  To my eye we are really short on that body type.  We've got 4 interior DL who aren't going to do much special teams, 7 OL plus Jackson who is basically a DL.  We've got 3 less special teams types than usual dressed.  Lots of extra work for guys that also have important roles on O and D is what that means.  

We can survive without a fullback, I mean **** play with 6/7 OL out there double tights.  Use Augustine if you really want a second back to block.

I'm really surprised they didn't bring anyone in this week to take Szott's roster spot and just chase kicks.  Some Canadian DB/LB/RB kicking around looking for work.

Too bad we cut Cole lol...but Muhamed or Swarmay would make a lot of sense..Jackson tho does play coverage on ST...so not a total waste

Cole is on practice roster.  Cole the linebacker.

Jackson does provide some versatility as well in a pinch.

be nice to actually see them try him with some reps on defense tho if he's on the roster....gives a regular a rep...and you don't know what he can do unless you give him an actual legit chance

This waiting until kick-off really sucks.

One recent cut I might look at is Jamie Harry S/LB.  Not a great player, Canadian and that twitchy kind of guy to chase kicks.  

I just can't believe we'd go the full 6 games with Miller out with Szott standing on the sidelines and not replace the special teams spot.

There is more than enough cap room on the 6 game injured list right now for at least one decent signing.

has it been mentioned that Derel Walker is on the 6-game for them? They were already in trouble on both sides of the ball, and that dings 'em even worse...

On any other roster that would be addition through subtraction.

or maybe Hansen...Wilson are closer than we think.....but money issues for cap I dont think is a reason, there is in season monies available for such a thing that they exclude from off-season/FA period pile....also...For whatever reason, and more times than not we have the back-ups available to cover injuries...good depth....but we are a lil exposed right now, but almost seem to think the team doesn't feel as if we are...the fact tho that we havnt brought in a DE to at least get up to speed just in case is puzzling and worrisome...If one of Willie or Haba goes down this game, and cant go next week...we are royally effed....

It's not even a new problem, they were thin at DE most of last season especially after they traded away Wilcots.  They had the entire off-season to contemplate Willy's advancing age, Jeffcoat's future health concerns, consider available free-agents, and recruit future replacements.  They ignored available free agents, lost Sayles and brought a few DE's into TC but decided to purge all, other than their #1 draft pick.  Money couldn't have been the concern as they decided to go deep and spend $260,000 on Lawler in the off-season.

Yeah....it is definitely a continuation issue thats for sure....and why theylet Mack go last yr too is bizzare as he was showing well...better than what Adams gave us when they scooped him off the Rider scrap heap

I’d love that but very much doubt it. Even if they are healthy soon they will need a couple weeks to get in shape and get the rust off.

In the off season the bombers should trade down in the draft get more picks and really go after depth / teams guys. They’ve been trying to hit homers on upside for soo long the years have really depleted our depth. Time to restock. 
 I’d even be happy to see some future assets traded for plug and play teams ni types mid season. Richie type deals.

Some of the would-be foot soldiers like Patrice Rene and the other Hallett brother just couldn’t stay healthy and were let go.  Meanwhile guys like John Rush aren’t 30 yet and are sitting at home.

Lemon Darvin adams lots of good players not playing. Guys falls fall through the cracks FAST in football. Especially teams specialists.

If Rush is in shape I'd take him over a 7th OL who doesn't even cross the sideline once the game starts.
