Riders bring back Charleston Hughes.   Would have been news a few years ago but now...

Is it me or does the TSN guys on TV always fixate on Hughes and make it seem like he's a far bigger deal then what he is?

Kinda tells you what Chris Jones thinks of his relationship with the bargaining unit.

Dakota Prukop and Dru Brown are also participating in Bomber rookie camp, no big deal.

2. Crash course: Veteran QB Dakota Prukop, signed by the club this winter after he was released by the Edmonton Elks, was one of four quarterbacks on the field Wednesday along with Dru Brown — who dressed for two games last year with the Blue Bombers, University of Manitoba product Jackson Tachinski and Jake Floriea, signed this week after playing his college ball at John Carroll University.
As a veteran, Prukop did not have to participate in this rookie camp, but chose to do so to learn Buck Pierce’s offence — and knowing that the decision might be touchy with ongoing CBA discussions.

Some guys just don't know when to hang it up. He was a great player in his prime but now he's just a hanger on. He totally disappeared in Toronto last year.

Soooo....you're saying that he will fit right in to the Rider defence?

No, just the new QB without experience with this club and 56 total passes in his career. A real vet!

Don't see this as a big deal whatsoever. They volunteered to come get a start on the playbook but are giving the live reps to the young guys. If we had a new HC/OC, I'd be hoping Collaros would do the same.

Bargaining Units often have difficulty with the blurred lines. Jones is doing that. I’d guess the elks - jones, supported by his history, are the team that isn't respecting the initiative to not have the participation as requested by the BU.

Hughes hasn't fit in anywhere since he left the Stamps. Every year since his production dropped.

Not really he had 15 sacks and 16 sacks in Saskatchewan ....  last year he disappeared.

He had all of his sacks in the first half of both seasons he played in Rider Land.

yup...started strong...faded even stronger....the fact they resigned him is telling...must be desperate..that defense was right gutted...and the loss of most were average guys save for Woodard

That says to me a deal is close. Good. Don't **** around with the cfl season.

We've heard this drama before. No one can afford to hold up the season...and they won't.

Is there any other pro sports league who is as bad as the CFL with their collective bargaining agreement negotiations? They do it the same always. Wait until the last minute & then under the gun to get a deal done.

They’re all ass.

No, not the way the CFL handles it. A smaller league means not as many issues so therefore there should be plenty of time to get a deal done in the off season. Start early January after the Xmas & New Year's break. Yet the leave it to early April. Then we have Randy Ambrosie going to CFL fan meetings saying Cum Bye Ya when it isn't & he knows it. Training camps open tomorrow & there's still no deal done as of this moment. No other league does this. Totally ridiculous.

The players association want to drag it out until the last minute as well. It’s the way unions work.
