2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition

So, looking ahead....what's our off season going to look like? Coaches and GM all still under contract, right? Players? Who's going to the NFL? Who do we think might bolt in FA? Pieces that we'd like to see the WBB pick up in FA?

If a slug like Lenius can get an NFL contract then a stud like Alford was almost certain to get one too. Luckily, secondary won't be an issue for us. We are deep there and have the best recruiting in the CFL for DBs.

Bede isn't a national.

He's also not classified as a Global which I don't get.

Good for Alford… his story is pretty awesome. Wasn’t playing at all in 2020, lost all of his professional workouts.

CFL all star, Grey Cup champion, and now in the NFL. Great for him!

The best true rookie db I've ever seen. First pro every thing in 2021. I hope he kills it down in Atlanta.

I believe once you are declared as an imp you can't change. But a few guys in the league should be re classified as globals.

We just knew Alford was a super find and that he had a good chance of signing down south...Well there he goes and good for him....We recruit well in the db department .....and if we bring enough talent north in the numbers we brought to camp last year, I'm sure we can find another diamond

He was in the league before there were Globals.

He should have a good chance at sticking with them. Atlanta's D is putrid.

Great for Alford, too bad about Lucky not to be a BB.

all I’ve seen about a National is that the guy has to be a Canadian citizen at the time of signing their first CFL contract or practice agreement, and some other definitions further defined here:

I couldn’t pass a test on the designations at this point.

Remember in game 1 when the chuckleheads on the panel were guffawing about the Bombers with 2 rookies in the secondary showing Alford barely miss an int in the endzone for that first touchdown.

What tools.

They definitely have players & teams they like.

Best rookie DB since Bolden in 95?

He and Nichols would both fit that category. Only other guy that comes to mind is Brandon Browner.

I remember thinking he got beat for two long passes in that game (one being the TD), but he had such tight coverage on both plays. Seemed a good'r right out of the gates.

Perfect! Great Canadian vet who can play anywhere on the line. Much better as a guard but I digress ;) if we can sign Biggie, Collaros, Alexander, and bring back 2/3 of our Canadian running backs I would be a very happy and satisfied man.

Solid!....don't even worry about Bryant ya'll....so we just need to lock in Couture now, and see what happens with Desjarlais....Prob almost a given Gray Re-ups

Another year of controlling the line of scrimmages on both sides of the ball! Keep em coming Walty.

Happy Neufeld is back.

On Gray, isn't he roughly two years into working somewhere as an engineer? It takes 4 to get your professional designation so figure he keeps doing that and playing for us.

Paddy is back........all is well.......Now Biggie and we're really starting to shape up

We probably won’t hear about Bighills re signing for another week or so as he is in Hawaii. Unless somonen spots the Grey Cup making it’s way there 🤣

I am confident he will be back next year as well.
