Riders @ RedBlacks

IPUgh, little frustrating to already be on bye at only week 2, but here we go.

It will be Fajardo starting tonight they say, albeit if Dickenson has subscribed to his old boss Chris Jones's way of doing things, Harker will be on the field if he doesn't get enough consistency going.

Hard to say who's got the bigger test of fire in this one.

For SSK, question could be whether or not they're better or worse off not having Collaros run the offense given some of his dwindling level of play.  Gonna have a better idea of what their current backups look like tonight.

For Ottawa, well yes they did what they had to do last week to get the win, but can't help but feel they got a lot of luck from CGY beating themselves as well.  Gonna have a bigger challenge against the SSK defense tonight for sure.

Gonna be a revealer of which team is who we thought they were

I think we're all missing the point, the Saskatchewan RoughRiders are 0-2 on the season and in last place.

  • One more of these posts ... and it will have been said more times then the Riders will have wins.....

  • really is best case scenario, now the Riders think Fajardo is a quarterback and will waste more time with him.

Watching some of this again -- Both teams looked pretty vanilla scheme wise on D, and the Ottawa secondary was moving around in a confused looking manner, all nite

I don't think they are throwing at a guy 13 times if he isnt consistently beating the player covering him

Especially when the dude looks like he is losing it out there mentally....

the last one....

Yeah that was my gut feeling too.

Did that number just go up?

Micah Johnson is invisible as the highest paid defensive player in the league

No?

13 targets 11 catches.

It wasn't all Ryhmes either

Ah. Well I'd have to see what the other 9 catches looked like. The 2 long ones I'm thinking of the coverage was definitely there.  Maybe he had a bad game. But generally I thought he was pretty good.

Fair enough

Man I hope so cause that was a very sad display.

Perhaps also a byproduct of playing under Richie Hall

He came down with a few where Marshall was right in his hip pocket though.  Hence Craig Dickenson getting a little befuddled.

That's true.

Dickenson was fuddled as soon as he took the job. Talk about being given the job as captain of the Titanic.

after it had already hit the ice-berg.

Why is Dickenson allowed to pick up the challenge flag?

Berry still the only coach I remember ever getting a delay of game

If you're talking about the 2007 GC... it's because Berry challenged a challenge that the Riders won (spot of the ball if memory serves correct)... he didn't challenge an unchallengable (this is, apparently, not a word) play...

No it was a regular season game.

I said it before, I don't want to see Randle get torched in Ottawa.

Gave a lot to our organization. I hope he finds his game

I remember watching him warm up for a game against us and the Argos here in Toronto. Guy was a consummate pro. He was doing these footwork drills that were fun to watch. He definitely knew how to play his position. I find it hard to believe he suddenly doesn't know how to play. I suspect he has just lost a step or two.

We all do, eventually.

What I found funny was that in the TSN fantasy this week, Sask had the most expensive D.  Why?

Wonder if the RedBlacks offensive starters are going to be the most expensive next week?

Still waiting on our resident Rider fans analysis of the game. Ripper. Are you ok with the loss? Are you concerned? What went wrong? What needs fixing if anything?

It looked like most of the team is already fixed in a veterinary sort of way.

I believe the riders defence will still be a top 4 defence this year. However the O-line and Inexperience at qb will keep them floating around a 500 club

After 2 weeks they look better     Than BC

I missed the game but I saw him get beat for 1 TD.  Was he just as bad the rest of the game?

Ya he was getting beat just like he was here, there were games last year that we started fresh rookies and they still picked on him.

Going to disagree with pretty much all of this and say that they've played far worse teams than BC so far...

How did you come to this assessment after Dom Davis torched you guys?  What positives did you see in that performance?
