2019 CFL Season: Around the League

Pre season action 1PM PT

BC at Edmonton

3 Areas To Watch

Number 2 Pivot: Who Steps Up?

BC - Ricky Lloyd and first-year Leos Austin Apodaca and Cole Sears will handle the quarterback reps in hopes of getting a leg up on sticking behind Reilly on the depth chart.

Edmonton- Danny O’Brian, Logan Kilgore, Briscoe.

- One big observation in the first week of camp is the depth at receiver. Standouts at the position have included Joey Augustin, Marquis Bundy and Mexican additions Fernando Richarte and Gerardo Alvarez. All CFL clubs are required to keep one global player on their roster beyond training camp.

- Defensive Line: Calling On Another Bookend

With Odell Willis having another strong showing in camp, the big question remains who will line up as the other bookend.

- Linebacker Adam Konar gets to battle some of his own teammates after he was cut loose and quickly picked up by the Lions on day one of camp. He’ll start at MLB

Someone will give claybrooks a coordinator job at least.

Maybe not. The Stamps offence didn't fade all that much, considering the loss of talent, so maybe Claybrooks was the beneficiary of the assembled talent.

And I am of the opinion that Hervey ought to have been fired as well. He really hamstrung the Lions with his personnel decisions.

You and anyone who has done addition and subtraction as well as watched a few games.

I wonder if Claybrooks has a clause in his contract like Campbell did where the club is on the hook for significantly less salary if he gets another job next year?

I think Claybrooks will wait until someone offers him the best contract....might be here as I think Hall is headed for retirement..Just a hunch but there's also a couple of teams back east that might make him their chief D guy...especially if Chamblin is given the heave ho in T.O.

I think we need to move quickly on Clay, and get rid of Hall.

I know, I know. Super unique opinion.

While I agree with replacing Hall, too much hangs in the balance right now. Until we know how the HC situation unfolds, the organization is effectively stuck.

can we get claybrooks as an "advisor" for the next game??????? 😱

Puts us over the cap, I think. What's our current count?

And, do we really want him as an advisor? What would he advise? How not to beat the Stamps? We can do that on our own.

Good point, Claybrooks would look good on a beach.

No one else cringe at this thought?

No swimsuit needed on some beaches, just the hat.

He might be charged with indecent exposure parading around the beach in just a chapo...even on an all nude tanner..........I have just now blanked that sight out of my memory banks forever...lol

pretty sure Jon Ryan is not the best punter.... NFL cred impressing people

Yeah, that's the most ridiculous thing I saw. How??? They guy out kicked his coverage and I believe (have to double check to be sure) got the most Rouges. How does he get the nod? Stupidity.

CONFIRMED: On 107 punts, he scored 12 rouges. That's double the next punter, who had 132 punts. STUPIDITY!!!

I can't argue with too many of these selections... except for Jon Ryan - I guess they just picked the guy with the highest average ( that's easy).

I would have thought we'd get more than one nod on the offensive line - we led the league in rushing yards by a fair bit (running back & QB).

But injuries haven't led to a real consistent group

And if injuries haven't taken them out, they've certainly hampered their play to an extent where it's not surprising they didn't get picked (like Hardrick).
