2019 Main Training Camp

(2019 Main Training Camp

Can’t remember a start to a main training camp where, even though we have openings at several spots (7?), we seem to have prepared to fill those spots with quality players and good prospects.

Highlights coming into camp are the signings of Willie Jefferson and most certainly Chris Mathews. Not to mention the signing of all our draft choices, some of whom could be dynamic.

We got bigger and better at receiver prospects.

We’ve stacked the defensive line to make it easier for Bighill.

We’ve added defensive backs and linebackers to fill any perceived shortcomings.

Little by little, day by day, shortcomings will be noticed and those players will fall by the wayside.

It’s training camp and the veterans will teach the newbies..in more than one way.

Today, medicals and film room. Good luck to all. Let’s put out the best lineup we possibly can.

“Even now, given the months and months to reflect and rewind, Chris Streveler will admit that his first year in professional football was an absolute thrill ride.”

What an absolute piece of good fortune to have this guy..

pre-season games are really going to tell us a lot...

The games always mean a lot more then practise imo, but then weve seen guys play great in the games and not make it or disapear.

Or the Bombers learn how to make use of the IR to hide players.

I expect we will keep both around till atleast mid season. Between PR and IR. I dont see other teams jumping to grab augustine. But teams play will be key for a bunch of position battles.

What is this the 3rd time already he's pancaked a lineman? Guess he's hungry

The guy is a freight train on cleats. His skill set really projects well long term in our system.

Also looks like Lapo has tweaked his playbook to better utilize the skills of certain guys better...and not being so reliant on certain things over and over

Compound that for the first 3 days of the last 8-10 years. I love a bunch of the guys who cover the bombers, but when it comes to camp they are long in the tooth. They made light of it a few years back then were supposed to crack down and be less of a boys club talking to each other and do more reporting, but it never happened. They start camp slow every year with the reports.

Really quiet on the Gray and Desjarlais? How are they ?

Until we get to see a televised game it sorta feels like trying to follow the Second World War via Hamm Radio.

not when  you have Irving.....

All the running backs seem to be good receivers.. and that Santiago has real good hands..and once that ball is in his mitts you dont know where he going.. he super shifty and fast with ball

Same with Rasheed Bailey..he's fast carrying the ball..and Simonese catches everything with his hands..he's been schooled well at some point

Thanks again, Booch.

This is Bauming's contribution  total after 3 hours of practice:

Darrin Bauming, TSN. on Twitter: "Day 3. Brandon Alexander is taking part in his first day of #Bombers training camp. Andrew Harris and Pat Neufeld are not today and have yet to. Mike O’Shea says no injuries are considered long term, and 33 is expected to be "healthy relatively soon." https://t.co/cp46eVgR1K" / Twitter https://mobile.twitter.com/DarrinBauming/status/1130832479126994945

Right now starting offence appears to be Adam's.. Matthew's.. Baily..woli and Demski.. Bryant.. hardrock.. foketti Speller and Gray ..

Baily actually pretty impressive in the slot..pretty fast and polished

Don't see that lasting unless we pick up Chris Ackie.

Whatever happened to rookie camp stud Matt Hazel?

I think Neufield replaces Foketi and Speller/Couture will split reps pretty evenly to figure out Centre.

Rookie receivers looking good at Blue Bomber camp—Rasheed Bailey, Matt Hazel and Corey Washington(who was here last year of course)

That oline set up just giving guys looks I would think..

Gray looks good though..really athletic and gets downfield ala Hardrick to nix it up

Hazel has been okay..just like most.. but certain guys seem to have the extra..Washington..Baily..Walker

I like that boynton too..makes quick reads and closes fast..

Our o line will be Bryant..Neuf..Gray..Hardrick for sure..and Couture will have Eli really pushing him..if not passing him
