Okay, so the off season officially begins now that the Grey Cup is over. Lots of topics for discussion in the months to come with the Bombers & the League. A new CBA needs to be negotiated sooner rather than later.  Will there be an eventual agreement or a lockout? How much will the salary cap go up? Randy Ambrosie is on record that wants the cap to significantly go up so that is a positive.  Will Bo Levi Mitchell sign with an NFL or perhaps another CFL team? What about Mike Reilly & Trevor Harris who are also free agents? There's a new start up league called the  AAFL & there are legit concerns that it'll draw star CFL players away or hamper free agent signings with CFL teams. Coaching changes in BC & Toronto. The continuing evolving story of the expansion Halifax Schooners & possible exhibition games in Mexico.

An average of Canadian Starters vs American Starters, by position, would make the most sense. Even NI starters vs Imp starters makes more sense than average NI vs average Imp without QB's.

Here's my wacky new ratio rule:

Ratio is 7 Cdn starters and 1 international

Cdn QBs count as NIs - if you have a CDN QB listed as starter that counts as 2 NI spots

1 marquee import - you can sign a player partially exempt from the salary cap (maybe a range/cap on that) but then you lose an additional import spot and play 8 Canadian starters

1 marquee non-import - no penalty

Cdns like Singleton, Woli, etc would now count as 'Internationals'

he may have been a little more aggressive than necessary... but he makes a good point... a starter should probably be making more than a back-up... unless said back-up got beat out by a rookie...

The best Anericans usually make as much or more than the Canadians - Stanley Bryant comes to mind. But I highly doubt any American RB makes more than Andrew Harris.

Regardless of passport, how many American RB in the league would you take over Harris? His first bombers contract was rumored to be in the 175-200 range, not sure about his extension.  Honestly I can't see paying any American RB near that number, but with how important Harris (and his passport) are to the team, he's worth it.  No question quality NI make a nice premium over imports of the same position
