WPG. Own thread coming soon.

CAL . How much do you tinker if at all? But somethin aint right here

EDM. Lots of room for improvement.  Reilly another year older

SSK. Canadas team has lots of FAs, Carter leaving. Huge question marks at QB

BC. Lots of smoke but less flame than grease fire in MTL. Whole new coaching staff at least

TOR. Turning point to build on or just a nice story like OTT last year?

HAM. Soap opera . Key FAs looming. Collaros. Manziel thing.

I'd take LeFevour over Durant or Glenn based solely on their sideline demeanor. Durant Glenn LeFevour

  • Buckley's going to med school, per the article. Doesn't sound like sneaky roster management. Congrats to Buckley on his med school admission and all the best to him in his next act.  Winning a co

well if he is as good as the scouting reports..then we have an extra 1st rounder next year...use it

We’ll bid, but we won’t get him. Our pick won’t be high enough.

Could be though?  3rd overall if I'm understanding the rules correctly.

How would it be third overall? Our waiver priority would be seventh. We can’t bid BC’s first round pick, they just can’t bid one of their own.

I think one of our first should be...no?

As it stands we have B.C's and would be based on where they placed last year at the moment

I thought we could use BC's.

But I'm still a little confused by the wording on 3DN -

upplemental drafts are held when players miss the deadline for entry into the main CFL draft and there was a number of them last year. Each CFL team has the option to “bid” on the player by forfeiting a selection in the 2019 CFL Draft and the process continues based on waiver priority – the reverse order of the 2018 draft – until the highest choice is identified.

Reverse order would put us 3rd, no?

But if nobody bids a First prior to us...I doubt Huffer will so we could get him...and still have BC's first rounder next year...most likely a top 4 pick

I was fairly certain we can’t bid their first rounder ... if we could though, that’s interesting.

Even if Huff did, ours would be better ... it’s the 6 teams above us in waiver priority (5 since you can’t count BC, I guess) that we’d be worried about

I'm thinking we can as we own it now...so it's a pick we can use

Teams can only bid their own picks.

Hard to see him getting past Montreal, Hamilton and Ottawa.  One of them will bid their first unless they don’t think they can sign him.

Yeah SMS can be a consideration now...But maybe we can Thank Durant for what's left of his salary and put it towards a player who will benefit us

some how every one is missing the reverse order thing. the worst teams in the league dont get first choice over better teams according to that. Which would be great for us. though Im sure every team in the league is gonna bid a first round pick. Doubt we get him but it would be pretty great if we do.

Here is what the CFL bylaws say about the supplemental draft.  Nowhere does it say that a pick you traded for can be or can not be used. Assumptions are dangerous but if it doesn't say it can't be used I would imagine that it can be used.

Darren Bauming has tweeted that he has been told the bombers can only use their original pick.

That's crappy.

Yeah. On the bright side I’d like to remind us of our record on supplemental draft choices.

Manziel and Kaerpernick are entirely different cats. Manziel has shown some very troubling personal conduct issues, whereas Kaepernick took a principled stand against systemic violence perpetrated against minorities that have been around even prior to the birth of America. Whether Kaerpernick wants to come to the CFL, or if he can adapt to the Canadian game are still to be determined. So far as I know, he has no desire to come to the CFL, but he was a damned good quarterback.

You mean a principled knee no? Kaerpernick had one good year, made some good dough and made a poor decision to mix politics and sports. Your right 2 different qbs same ego problems.

Or... he acted on something that he believes is important, and accepted that there might be consequences as a result.  Believe it or not, some people actually would rather do what they think is right, even if it costs them personally.  We need more of those people.

You can't really argue that it wasn't a poor decision for his career.

True, but maybe he values other things over said career.  Again, sometimes doing the right thing is costly.

Kaepernick also was a locker room cancer where his team mates and coaches did not get a long with him.   Was lazy and after going vegan dropped some weight and may not have the same physical abilities.

I think you can make that case if you assume that someone's career isn't really over after football.  Give it 20 years and then see whether this was a bad career decision or not.
