Looking Ahead: Winnipeg Vs BC

figured I'd get the ball rolling on our next match up, and big game against a division rival.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how we let Martese Jackson put up the 4th best return night in cfl history. Was it we were playing that bad on a few of those drives or he was just playing that good?  I think after making a good 2nd half adjustment, we really limited his returns after that.  I hope whatever we did in the 2nd half carries over vs BC as Rainey is always a dangerous returner.

I think our DL will have another big night as I don't think much of BC's OL.

So far BC has relied on 4th quarter surges to snag their 2 W's, otherwise the games were tight and winnable for the opponents.

This Matt Nichols lead team have been road warriors the last while going 7-2 on the road last year (including that last play fg to win by calgary) and currently 1-0 this year.  Do they feel less pressure on the road? or do they just enjoy spoiling parties?

If the bombers want some league wide respect, I think a big W coming out of Vancouver goes a long way to establishing that.

Our secondary will have it's hands full with Arceneaux and Burnham, I'd imagine Heath and Randle will be their cover guys, but I have a feeling Arceneaux will want to torch Loffler as this will be the first time seeing each other since Loffler laid the lumber to him in the WSF

I also think Lulay playing caught the ticats off guard. You spend all week watching film on Jennings and his tendencies,  then 1 play in... bam, you're up against a new QB.  Lulay had a heck of a game, for sure, but I wonder what affect that has on the opposing D's ability to adjust accordingly on the fly

well especially considering the differences between the 2.  if they were similar QBs then the change would have been easier to scheme against but ones a loose cannon gun slinger and others a scrambling smart attack style QB.. could have easily been the difference maker.   Now that we've game planned for his tendencies all week.. we should be gold.

I think they just elected to give thorpe a look. From the sounds of it, it was essentially Thorpe spot to begin with but he was hurt

Let's hope that Thorpe will be this year's Travis Bond.

that's pretty significant, wouldn't say as significant as not having wild and leggett, but still a huge impact to their D

Is Nick Moore still playing?

Man I really want to see someone seize an opportunity at reciever. I think in the past two years we've given guys an opportunity to become a starter and compliment Dressler and Adams but no ones stepped up to the plate. One more consistent weapon on offense would go a long way.

Here's to hoping Thorpe is Arceneaux II.

Until his next injury, yes.

At least one former Bomber has to play

Not really.  Pretty good depth with Awe and Davis in for Burnett.

If you say so. Anytime you lose your starters your likely dropping back a bit in talent (or the back ups would be the starters?) Awe and Davis being primarily  S.Teamers have a lot to prove before I say they are good depth that won't see a drop off in talent at LB.   Who replaces Bryant Turner Jr at DT?

Looks like Maxx Forde

now that is an undeniable drop down.

BC is much like us they do a ton of substitutions

Of course O ' Shea tried to pretend it doesn't matter. "They both play the same system, nothing really changed."

I'm hoping Wally spends the game muttering,  "Awe ****, there goes Dressler again".

Probably my favourite game I ever went to was the 2002 Western semi finals against the BC Lions. I was eleven years old at the time and my uncle scored seats at i believe the 40 yard line second row.. Not only did the Bombers hammer the Lions 30-3 I remember losing my voice joining in the chant "BC sucks!" Moral of the story is.. BC sucks :D
