  1. I was 14 in 1984 and had season tickets with my Dad that year.

They had a dominant defense in those years. Great linebackers. Top notch db's.

Last years defense was nothing like Ive ever seen. Shut down everyone.  By the third quarter it looked like the opposing offense had already quit.  The body language showed they believed they had no chance.

Agree....TSN has to way up its game....sub par at best....half the excitement and interest in the NFL game is all the glitz and glam and bells and whistles...If u put a CFL game in front of that production and how they do a game, it would look/seem like a world of difference....thats a fact.....The league too, needs to hire, or create a content/marketing team of the new breed of Internet wizards, and promote and pump and create new and eye catching content...thats what will grow the league....not changing rules, paying global guys a pittance...and always bemoaning issues in media....maybe promote and add fluff...theres a thought

Rules have been basically what they are for a century....and game was/is just fine...u dont do wholesale change...you augment what you have....maybe add to it...it's not rocket science

The CFL brand is more exciting than the NFL. Agree that the  marketing is lacking big time. Great opportunity now to market to the younger gambling crowd now.

Specific story in the paper was that fans were drunk in the student section, one on particular was so drunk (52 year old) police went to escort them out. Second fan jumped in to intervene, more police arrive. Third fan (24 year old) then jumps in and starts punching police officer in the head repeatedly. Drunk 52 year old tries to break free and he and police officer roll down the stairs in the struggle. Many fans then throw beer at the police as they walk the inebriated folks out of the stadium. 24 year old charged with assault P.O., 52 year old to the drunk tank but later released. Picture in the paper:

The Canadian Tackles can't match the speed of the defensive linemen coming out of the NCAA today. They just don't play against guys like that in U Sports. They're years behind in development.

So is it the coaching at the minor football level that needs to improve? If that's the case is there the money available to provide the training?

Other countries have closed the gap in the hockey talent level. How was that accomplished?

If a player does nothing other than be a returner, I don’t think they could expect to earn much more than the league minimum. Grant never saw the field as a rusher or receiver in his time here. With the cost of keeping the core intact, I would imagine he would be about as low priority as it would get, and I say that knowing how good he was at the return game. One would think as far as replacements go, that position would be one of the easier ones to fill for a cheaper option.

Could structure the contract so that there is a bonus based on number of snaps played.

Have both too. Paul Friesen, who did Against All Odds, said he only did it bc he had time in the pandemic. No plans to do a follow-up. I do expect another Grey Cup book from the store though.

Re the lack of Grey Cup video, I asked Carol at the store about his in 2019. Apparently it isn’t cost effective bc they’d have to pay TSN for the right to use the video. I’m still not entirely sure why they can’t just work something out though. They could even only make it available for download and ppl would buy it.

Don't see why TSN would gouge them for the footage. Any money would be better than nothing. More exposure the better.

it could have been a Rider practice ball as well he chucked after the fact...if the ball has a W on it and marked as an approved game day ball..then that would explain what ball was used, now the intent is the question..generally a celebratory ball is handed to a person in first row or two...or lightly tossed...further than that it's lofted up into the crowd....also...Highly doubt he was tossing a celebratory ball to a rival fan...in said rival fans home stadium..

Maybe it was a practice ball.

I thought each teams O had their own designated game balls and it was a penalty for the D to throw one of the opponent's balls into the stands?
