yeah, the main changes I see are in the formations -- shotgun was very rare back then and most teams were lining up with two backs. Calgary started using five and six receiver sets in 1990 and it was Hufnagel who pioneered that, according to cfl.ca: https://www.cfl.ca/2007/12/02/offences_can_thank__huff__for_six_pack_air_attack/

It's kind of nice to watch the old game without replay reviews.  Official makes the call and the game moves on, no delays.

It nice with no reviews until you lose a game because of a bad call. Lol.

This is the list that I could come up with.... a whole lot of yikes.  I also didn't realize that Brink/Elliott lasted three seasons with us.

During this timeline... the only QB that had a good TD to INT ratio was Jyles with  19 TD - 7 ints.    A really ugly time.

i believe Joey Elliot was a 2 time player of the week.

Because all they are really good at doing is producing the top end talent. There are some outliers of course, but if you go back and look, most of their talent in the NFL are early draft picks.

They don’t really develop the guys who don’t come to them as 4 or 5-star recruits which means I don’t get too excited when I see an Alabama guy come up here.

Which schools send good talent to the CFL?

I had dinner with Milt a few years (a friend won a charity auction) and he said he roomed with Blink for their first trip to Montreal together.

He said he didnt see Charlie from the time they checked in until they were at the stadium the next day.

Blink went on to lead the team in rushing and receiving that night so Milt said he decided not to confront the issue and just let Blink be Blink.

The question is would the Bombers had won more cups in the early 2000s if they had team leaders that inforced the FIFO attitude? Was Blink the problem or lack of leaders the problem?

The coaching staff should shoulder some of the blame in this situation.

I'm sure Oshea wouldn't allow this behavior on today's team

I'm not sure which games that people had sacks and who played and what not.  But from the naked eye Jeffcoat didn't look like a difference maker while Jefferson from the start of the season until the end was very noticeable on the field regardless if he registered sacks or not.

The amount of times he caused massive disruptions and the amount of times he had near sacks was very noticeable.  Sometimes stats don't tell the full story.

Don't think there is a stat for drawing double teams. Do they record knockdowns?

I was once told by a very wise coach that when leaving an organization it's best to leave in a good frame of mind....Burning bridges do not do a thing except disconnect you from the great things that happened for you....Thinking back, there are a few players that have said things that they wish they never uttered....Deiter Brock was one that comes to mind when he 'slagged' Winnipeg with his comments...He said awhile ago that he regrets the comments but once said they're out there and hard to take back.....JJ is not in a good frame of mind and it's understandable...What really irks me is toads like Friezen who lap that kind of thing up and exploit the situation for cheap journalism...

I don't consider what Friesen writes journalism.

a more agile mobile RT will def help ZC take less punishment, and be more settled in pocket...Yosh for all he brought and gave...was getting beat a lot with speed and moves last yr, and roller skated as he had to set more upright and guys were getting under him immediately and he had no base, and first punch...Just watch Stan and his use of hands and how a simple swat or misdirect of a dlineman totally takes their move out of their arsenal...Yosh wasnt doing that no more

Why was he set more upright? Too heavy and slow now?
