Today I learned Brendan Taman was an assistant t GM in Ottawa. The extrabusiness in Subway restaraunts must be veritable boon for the local economy.
And it explains the shortage of napkins at Ottawa restaurants.

I texted my friend before the game "I'm predicting an Ottawa upset". Yeah, look out for Ottawa!

Streveler is on a 1 yr contract, I believe.

Is Shoen signed for next season? Anyone know? I'm too lazy to look it up.
-
These 3 Bomber rookie receivers really excite me - Wheatfall, Wilson, & Clercius (makes you wonder what will happen when Shoen comes back next year). I don't remember a year when we had 3 great rookie receivers like this. Our offense might be hard to stop!

Where is Milt Stegall? That panel needs him. Henoc just doesn't do it for me.
-
My thoughts on the game:
- Highly entertaining
- Rider defense is strong
- Lauther lost this one (he needs to be replaced, but not till after Banjo Bowl)
- Riders got a P.I. call (Montreal player should receive an Oscar for that flop). Command Centre stayed with the call on the field; which tells me that, going forward, the Command Centre will go with the call on the field in almost all cases.

”The next time the Bombers take to the practice field, a familiar face should be back in the lineup: that of star receiver Kenny Lawler.”
If Lawler comes back next game, who do you think O 'Shea takes out?

Any news from practice today? Any changes on O line, receivers? Ahhh....one can only hope.
-
And if they do sign Bailey, would we see him or Lucky on the roster for Thursday? No way. The reason from O Shea, "It's a short week." Me, "Sigh."

After watching him get taken out of the game by the spotter, it got me thinking. How would it work if he was unable to play next season due to injury?
Under normal circumstances, we couldn't release him this season if he was injured and have to wait until the off season. Could we still do that or because of the guarantee, would we just park him on the 6 game all next year. He still gets paid but it wouldn't go against the cap.
I'm thinking with this turnstile O line, the likelihood that he gets injured is pretty good (I'm not for anyone getting injured). If he gets a serious concussion, he might be done. We'd just 6 game him in 2025.

IF we were to cut him now we would be on the hook for what he earned this yr so far (bonus ad salary) and would be on books for 250k for 2025...even tho not here...only way out is we deal him....he retires after season.....or he renogotiates and we get rid of that....and cant see him doing that...so we hooped
IF we were to cut him in the off-season (not going to happen if O'Shea has any say) and it costs us 250K...I'd say that would be worth taking a chance on IF we could pick up a cheaper, younger guy like the Montreal back-up (Alexander??), but not worth it if only old QB's are our only choice (like BLM, MBT etc).
-
Does anyone know the logistics of releasing a player with a guaranteed contract? Or do we know the specifics of Collaros' contract? Is part of it guaranteed? All 600+k of it?What if we released him in the off-season (I doubt they would)? Does the whole contract count against the cap?

Rourke couldn't get out of the CFL fast enough in 2022. To him, playing for the Lions was an unforeseen detour. He was above all of us. Playing up here was beneath him. He felt that he was too good for the CFL.
What proof do you have that Rourke has ever had this attitude? (Please share if you do). He wanted to make more money and try the NFL. That is his right. As far as I've ever seen, he's been a humble young man who has just tried to better himself.

What a f…….joke. I said it at the beginning of the year they will not make the playoffs and they are proving me right.
Boy, yeah. It'll be tough for this team to make it. They'll likely have to finish ahead of Hamilton, Edmonton, and Calgary. The Bombers likely will not win again till September.

As much as I'm down on Bighill and a few other on D, they're keeping team in the game tonight.
Correct. And Zach isn't our biggest problem tonight (other than that he is old and can't escape pressure).

Could we make a trade? Ottawa's starting QB for our starting QB...oh wait...

Yup. It's like " As long as we're winning, there's no need to move the ball on offense" mentality.
