My immediate hope is Boyd pushes Nichols to be better. That would be instant production from Boyd.

Yes I agree he's shown he can.
However the games I've watched Messam play is he doesn't seem to have the endurance to do that consistently.
He seems to get worn out quite quickly. He tends to tap his helmet a lot to come off.

Apparently it was a big enough deal to get him fined.
If you think it's fine for Austin to behave in this fashion, then his players now have free reign to take reactionary penalties to send 'messages'.

Muamba plays every snap on D and probably every special team.  At his peak Cornish played 2/3 of the offensive snaps and got 17 touches a game.

Fantuz, Getzlaf and Cornish are all in the $225,000 neighbourhood, and there are a handful of offensive linemen up there too.  I think Muamba will be the highest paid Canadian in the league if he comes back.

He only had one fumble in the pocket, and that was on both guys on the left side, simplest twist in football beat them that time and about 10 other snaps.

The fumble on the Nichols run is on him.  Gotta realize that the guys you ran by as they went upfield are coming back, secure the ball.

Wait, what?.. so you live in Edmonton and are a Bomber fan that wants the oilers to beat the jets?? Why would you even bother making a post like this on a Winnipeg site then? I'm confused.

Don't confuse passion with being a jerk. Two separate things.
Want a example of passion? Dave Dickenson. He's passionate about the game, focuses on his team with little focus directed towards apposing team players. It's called being a professional.

We need Walby back to balance the homerism. They should have Walby and Suitor do the labor day classic with Cuthbert as the moderator. That would be entertainment.

Sorry ISO. That's not the behaviour of a head coach. As far as I'm concerned. Austin can no longer get upset with any cats player who gets penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Good coach but a class A jerk.

In reality, it was decided after Brohm's first set of downs last week . . .

Geez man, it seems sometimes, not always, that anytime a person posts something that runs counter to what you believe, you respond with these type statements. The hypocrisy is dripping here.
I think some of of us take more of an eclectic approach to politics and sensitive issues by not branding our ideologies as left, center or right. We take it issue by issue using the best facts available to form our perspectives. We sometimes don't get it right but always try to take an evidence-informed approach, identifying any bias's we may have a long the way. We can't brand ourselves with only one political strip but we can always aspire to be a sound critical thinker hopefully adding value to the discussion.

Putting aside politics for a sec, what value did you demonstrate to Mr. Dee with your above statement to him? Just curious, that's all.

I agree, but regardless of it being an ultra conservative game plan with little creativity, I'm sure his reads included Moore, Denmark, Kohert etc.  He didn't get them the ball. That's not all on the OL line. He takes part of that accountability.

I prefer to look at every game as an opportunity for a win, whether I'm playing in it or watching it. I prefer not to take the defeatist attitude, but you and the OP, and a few others, are welcome to revel in it.
I'm fully aware of what has happened in the past, but you know what…I don't care about those games..in the past. Tomorrow's game brings the promise of change and a victory, by any means.
Am i setting myself up for disappointment? Possibly..but it doesn't matter, I'm a big boy..I can handle it.

What does it matter what people thought at the beginning of the season?  Most of the people on this board are fans and for the most part over value the talent we have and want to cheer for the team they follow.

Most people on this board who thought these things aren’t in practices to evaluate the QBs. Most people on this board don’t watch game film to dissect the decisions the QB made on the called play and what the defense was showing.

Most people on this board were happy with what we had until they had a chance to actually see it.  So what exactly is your point here?  That people shouldn’t complain about the QBs because they were happy at the beginning of the season? That makes no sense.

You really also can’t throw out numbers like 95% of the people thought the QB depth was fine. Maybe 95% of the people who posted thought the QB depth was fine, but that is something entirely different. Unless you go back and can correlate the people who said they were happy with the depth are now the ones complaining about it, it really has no correlation.   I’m also sure 95% of those 95% of the people also thought Drew Willy would play for at least 80% of the games…

Troy Westwood's response about sask fans being banjo playing in-bred folk and then retracting saying some of them probably don't play the banjo. The rest, as we know, is history.
