  1. The fact that there is no crying in baseball ruined it for me. Do you suppose that if they make all home run hitter do a silly walk around the bases (a la Monty Python) it would make the game more watchable?
  2. I just hope it wasn't Wade. No one needs to see that. For Wade, dropping his pants would be a matter of a couple of inches. He has to roll his socks down to pee.
  3. I believe it to be impossible to ruin baseball.
  4. Too late. We shot our Waud.
  5. I am a fan of baseball but in the past few years I find I can only stomach a few innings and then I can't take it anymore. Just not enough action. That's the beauty of baseball. You have time to think about the game. And think, and think and think and think....then you fall alseep.
  6. And rightfully so. Rogers has built his empire by being aggressive but also by ignoring customers once they were lured on board. They have been rated the worst telecom company for customer service for several years in a row. This has been like an infected tooth for the CFL that has finally been pulled, but like dentistry, not without pain.
  7. My first reaction was "WTF is Walters thinking?" but on second consideration, Greaves has been serviceable but not irreplaceable, so if we have a replacement who is as good or better as well as a good backup, lets trade for what we need. It seems to be coming down to what Goossen and Neufeld can bring to the table.
  8. A lot of contradictions in this guy's scouting report, so I am not going to get too excited.
  9. Good speed, great tackling form and hits a ton- would make a very good free safety in the CFL.
  10. As regards drafting Waud, if Walters has reason to believe that Bilukidi or Mulumba(?) will shake loose in the not too distant future, then drafting a receiver makes sense.
  11. I'm sure if I should add "again" or "as usual" to this.
  12. Forum does have an ignore function: Go to your profile (where it says your username in the upper right) Click on My Settings Then 'Ignore Preferences' on the left hand side You can manage who you ignore there (add / remove from your ignore list). You can also choose to ignore signatures, posts, messages, etc. The only caveat is you cannot ignore people in the admin and moderator groups. Does this work for spouses? Only if you have them sign up to the site, then do all of your communication through PMs. Or I could open a special new section where you can post back and forth to ignore each other but everyone else gets to read your dirty laundry. Sounds promising. I will try to make such arrangements as soon as they release me from the Intensive Care Unit following broaching the subject with She Who Will Be Obeyed.
  13. A pass-rusher end?

  15. Sorry, can't see a CFL player developing an NHL attitude with the amount of money they are paid and the competition they face keeping a job. Apples to oranges. Money has little to do with stupidity.
  16. Stoopid is as stoopid does.
  17. And the Bombers were not alone in downgrading Durant. A veteran team with a strong leadership core would help but as the Jets' experience with Kane shows, you can lead a horse to water etc, etc.
  18. He's built like a MLB and he sure as heck sounds like a tackling machine.
  19. No guarantees, but a couple of years ought to give a QB a fighting chance to get to know the system, pick up reads and work on deficiencies enough to compete with better and longer coached US quarterbacks.
  20. As nice as it would have been to have Demski, I have to accept the verdict of the Bomber braintrust that Richards was the best overall receiver in the draft. Demski's versatility is an asset, though.
  21. Or a designated/additional PR spot for Canadian QBs, to help with their development. Or a designated/additional PR spot for Canadian QBs, to help with their development. Or that.
  22. The guy in the chair on the right looks suspiciously like Jabba the Hut.
  23. I would like to see a rule that a team can carry a NI quarterback for two seasons without him counting against the salary cap or roster limit. That would give Canadian QBs enough development time to catch up to the imports.
  24. Those are the elementary school students who come to watch the games. You can tell that they are elementary school age kids because they smoke Players Light instead of Export A. The teachers are the ones smoking DuMaurier. I would have thought teachers would be into Acapulco Gold.
  25. Got to broaden his horizons a bit. We'll just introduce him to the concept of dating girls that you're not related to. Sure, there's that awkward "getting to know them" stage that you don't have with cousins, but on the plus side, if you decide to have kids, there no "What in the world...?" from the doctor during delivery. I highly doubt Taman dates. By the looks of his appearance in recent interviews, he's pretty much given up on life outside of the Riders. He *was* dating the Bombers head cheer leader at one point circa???????? I think she was a Libra actually. Personally I like "C" bra gals better.
