How happy are you with Walters' Draft work?
Tracker replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
And the Bombers were not alone in downgrading Durant. A veteran team with a strong leadership core would help but as the Jets' experience with Kane shows, you can lead a horse to water etc, etc. -
He's built like a MLB and he sure as heck sounds like a tackling machine.

QB Jordan Yantz (undrafted camp invitee)
Tracker replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
No guarantees, but a couple of years ought to give a QB a fighting chance to get to know the system, pick up reads and work on deficiencies enough to compete with better and longer coached US quarterbacks. -

As nice as it would have been to have Demski, I have to accept the verdict of the Bomber braintrust that Richards was the best overall receiver in the draft. Demski's versatility is an asset, though. -

Or a designated/additional PR spot for Canadian QBs, to help with their development. Or a designated/additional PR spot for Canadian QBs, to help with their development. Or that. -

The guy in the chair on the right looks suspiciously like Jabba the Hut. -

I would like to see a rule that a team can carry a NI quarterback for two seasons without him counting against the salary cap or roster limit. That would give Canadian QBs enough development time to catch up to the imports. -
RB/FB Christophe Normand (4th round, 33rd overall)

Those are the elementary school students who come to watch the games. You can tell that they are elementary school age kids because they smoke Players Light instead of Export A. The teachers are the ones smoking DuMaurier. I would have thought teachers would be into Acapulco Gold. -

Got to broaden his horizons a bit. We'll just introduce him to the concept of dating girls that you're not related to. Sure, there's that awkward "getting to know them" stage that you don't have with cousins, but on the plus side, if you decide to have kids, there no "What in the world...?" from the doctor during delivery. I highly doubt Taman dates. By the looks of his appearance in recent interviews, he's pretty much given up on life outside of the Riders. He *was* dating the Bombers head cheer leader at one point circa???????? I think she was a Libra actually. Personally I like "C" bra gals better. -
Actually, Tampa Bay has some interesting history: because of all the bays and inlets, it once was a natural hideout for many pirate ships during that era, and it is the site of the most lightning strikes per year anywhere in the continental US.

LB Justin Warden (6th round, 46th overall)

Bah. I could do that in my sleep- probably the only place I could ever do it. -

To illustrate the point, there is a story circulating about a young man from Pense, Saskatchewan who came rushing into his parents' home with an announcement. "Pa! Ma!" he blurts," I've met the gal I wanna marry and she's a virgin!" "No way yer gonna marry her" says Pa. "Why not?" cries the lad. "If she's not good enough fer her family, she's sure 'nuff not good enuff fer ours!" retorts Pa. And such is life in Saskatchewan. -
REC Addison Richards (2nd round, 11th overall)
Tracker replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Either Richards has sneaky speed with those long legs or darned few of those CIS backs knew how to cover worth spit. Still, he looks to have very good hands, the reach of a large backhoe and no fear of traffic. If he puts on a few pounds and grows an attitude, he could be very, very useful. -

We wouldn't be disappointed in Campbell, either. Lotsa good options. -

Durant is in the mix too, though. Of those three, Durant looks to be the most physical and therefore probably a clutch player. He would be a good fit here. -

FWIW, CBC Winnipeg sports reports that Walters has said he will not trade the #2 pick. -
Obviously, this is the result of a Bender.

Riders fans are apopleptic. Taman is going to have to create a diversion to calm the masses before they soil themselves. Considering that few have changes of undergarments and even less have familiarity with bathroom tissue, this would be bad.

Can't wait for tomorrow's draft. I have told my social secretary to hold my calls.

Taman did good in Saskatchewan, and now it will take an unimaginably long string of bad decisions to get him fired after delivering a Grey Cup win in Regina for the Riders. And even if/when he gets canned, he can always get a job fronting for Subway (or Qizno's) now that Jarrod is long gone.

We can give Willy the benefit of a doubt for last season. It was a time of transition for him and the team, the O-line was porous, the running game was mostly theoretical and the receiving corps was very quesionable. Plus, Willy took some vicious hits. This year, everyone starts with a clean slate but nobody should have guarantees, including Willy. Produce or be demoted or gone.

Multiple 2015 CFL Combine Participants Failed Drug Tests
Tracker replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
In reality, the problem is not going to go away, as long as there is incentive for athletes to use and higher-ups to profit from it. It costs a lot of money to develop, deliver and supervise GCMS testing, but there's a lot more money to skirt or fudge them. When Ben Johnson got nailed, there were at least two other gold medalist runners who tested positive, one from Britain and one from the US but it was swept under the rug. Having a whole bunch of medaling dirty athletes in Seoul would have stained the games, so it was hushed up. Might as well throw it all open and be done with it. -
I like Willy and I think it's a great signing. Only issue I ever had with him, and well the Bomber in general for continuing to leave him in there when he was obviously struggling with reads and his confidence. They (coaching staff) basically pissed away any chance we had at the playoffs by being so stubborn. I think the Willy of the first 1/3 of last year is closer to the real Willy than the last two thirds. IF he can build on that first part of the year, and learn from the disaster that was the last two thirds, and take us to the Grey Cup, than last year was worth it. If he struggles again......... ....there's always the blindfold and cigarette option.
