  1. Fitzgerald was a slotback in college. He has very good hands. Coaching staff should be taking advantage of this and creating situations for players to use their skills and strengths. The guy is listed at over 250 lbs. He's heavier than every player on our team that isn't a DT or OL. Playing him as a TE on blocking schemes would seem to be using his skills and strengths. If he slips out for the occasional pass so be it. Zero chance he's going out in patterns on a 5 receiver set.
  2. With all the discussion on dline injuries, I haven't heard anything on Nick Moore this week. I suspect they give this week and the bye week to fully heal but it would be great to have him because he was a beast last game in BC.
  3. Based on the number of Canadians not practicing today, it looks like 2 will be coming off the practice roster (Carter and Norris) just so we can dress 21 Cdns this week. Only Taylor Renaud will be left on the practice roster. In a 9 team league, it doesn't make a lot of sense that 1 team has to wait for week 13 for its first bye.
  4. If you think the BoD wasn't involved with the restructuring, think again. I think some were involved but certainly not all. I also don't think it was a restructuring at all. Wade and Jim disagreed and one had to go. Clearly Wade wouldn't be the one going. All Directors should want to know the real story.
  5. I really hope certain members of the BOD sit down with Jim for an effective exit interview. When the person that has been their lead financial person is shown the door and the organization has significant debt repayments coming, it should set off some alarm bells. Unfortunately the City doesn't have an appointed person so the City is shut out of the exit interview process. I would expect Vince Barletta and Debbie Metcalfe from the Board to have very detailed discussions with Jim on his way out the door. During a 3-13 season, the previous off field management team grew revenues from $16.7M to $24.2M last year. That management team is all gone now. Yes the new stadium was the driving factor but they did grow corporate revenues in a big way. I doubt very much that Jim was shown the door to save a salary. I think it would have far more to do with future planning and direction inclusive of both future revenue and cost considerations. We have a General Manager, Grey Cup and Vice-President of Entertainment and Events on our senior executive but no other VPs. It looks like Wade has actually been in his position longer than any other member of the Senior Executive. Its clearly Wade's show and for all of us I wish him great success. Best of Luck to Jim and thanks for your dedication and loyalty to the Football Club over some tumultuous times.
  6. Suber was hurt in preseason no? So that's a move because of injury, most moves have been made because of injury. Other than that no one has really come off the roster. It is far too premature to go about making claims like "if you don't perform MOS doesn't let you play" If anything he is showing remarkable patience with players.Suber been healthy for awhile and there was rumblings he should dress last game. MOS has stated since he got here it all about win-losses. You telling me he will put upwith under-performing players because? Bombers have been trying to trade Suber for a few weeks. With the new CBA, does anyone know how late in the year you can release a veteran?
  7. Neufeld and Moore not participating at practice.
  8. OK well if there is something going on let me know, though I'll be towing a bunch of Lions fans with me... I emailed the Bombers and Carol got back to me immediately. She says nothing is set up for BC but that they want to do try and do some events later in the season.
  9. I will be there. It would be great to have a spot to grab a couple of beers pre game with other Bomber fans. At the first traffic buster party, Wade said he was travelling to this game too and that the Bombers wanted to organize something for fans. He didn't offer details but said to watch social media.
  10. Glad they didn't say announcement at noon!
  11. I think it will be someone from our 1 game IR. Suber is most likely. Potentially Woods. Longshot Watson. Toronto has Durie out and Owens had an MRI yesterday, perhaps they are in the market for Watson?
  12. I would think he needs to be here to force them to release him. He says I'm here ready to practice and then they either have to pay him to be on IR or release him. They can't suspend him because he's disgruntled. They can suspend him if he's sitting at home and not participating.
  13. Turner just tweeted a picture of his baby daughter so I'm guessing he will be back in time.
  14. Had a chance to get by practice today. 1st team offense was unspectacular. Willy had a ball batted down at the line. Kohlert and Kelly both had drops although Kelly did have one good catch in traffic. O-line looked to struggle with blitz pickup. Stoudermire had a nice pick on a deep ball. Watson and Anderson were the only 2 guys I noticed not participating at all. When 1st team D took the field, Romby was matched up one on one vs Randle and completely undressed him. Romby was open by about 5 yards and dropped the touchdown pass. Otherwise D looked sharp.
  15. I think we win this game based on the inexperience of the Toronto D. They may get better as the year goes on but based on the depth chart, they are starting 7 players that have ZERO defensive tackles in the CFL. Shea Emry has 261 career tackles as an Alouette. The other 4 starters have a combined 208 career CFL defensive tackles. Starting safety Matt Black had 34 tackles last year and 56 for his career. Even Cauchy had 47 last year and 93 for his career in less years. We should have the ability to control the ball on offense, keep Ricky off the field and cruise to a 35-24 win.
  16. O'Shea just confirmed he's coming in next week.
  17. Somebody will sign him for Week 2 when they don't have to pay the vet bonus.
  18. On 2nd and 6 I would rather have Messam and a 4th international receiver than Grigsby and Kohlert.
  19. If Wild doesn't earn a starting spot out of training camp, does his ability to long snap earn him a DI spot? Hopefully Fitzgerald has been practicing it as well.
