  1. If Harris has contract incentives for being most outstanding Canadian, I hope the organization steps up and pays that incentive regardless. Players around the league will know we support our players.
  2. When Banks was suspended for 2 games in 2016, he became the East nominee for Special Teams Player of the Year (losing to Medlock). Harris won't get his chance because 3 local media members made up their own rules. He violated a rule which called for a two game suspension - nothing more and nothing less. He was eligible to play in 16 games and is unquestionably the most outstanding Canadian in the CFL this year.
  3. Just bought my ticket to the CFL Awards night yesterday. Time to start planning what my protest sign will look like. The media has made this a story so I guess they achieved their goal. Time for the CFL to reconsider how awards are voted upon.
  4. They would have to pull him off the 6 game list to play this week. He's missed 5 games to date. I doubt he returns this week.
  5. I doubt this to be true. Based on how few tickets sold in other sections, it looks like they just aren't available for sale.
  6. We don't even take the 2nd half kickoff when we are losing and the other teams kicker is hurt despite only stopping them on one possession in the first half.
  7. Remember seing guys like Dieter, Ezerins, House and Phason and my childhood red autograph book. So thankful my 10 year old daughter wanted a season ticket with her older brother and her dad this year.
  8. We have very poor overall talent at all levels of the organization. GM, HC, QB, O-line, nat receiver. Words you will never hear, "jake Thomas with pressure up the middle". We are paying for dumping Bucknor. Shologan and Thomas aren't getting it done.
  9. Zero success as positional coach. Zero success as assistant GM. Zero success as GM. Hired McManus and Goveia to more senior roles than previous roles with very limited success. He should go before O'Shea. Nice call on Waggoner. Those who can't recruit sign free agents. A good interview but not someone that delivers. Hard to believe this team wins before Labour Day.
  10. With Medlock being one of our 4 DI's, it's tough to see another DI being spent on a return specialist. Sure Stoudermire played some other spots but he was primarily a return guy. It will be interesting to see who the other 3 DI's end up being this year. I think there will be one DL, one DB and hard to call on the last one right now.
  11. How likely is it that Green Bay resigns Mulumba? It looks like he's been a healthy scratch a number of weeks this year. 6 games played, 4 tackles and a pending free agent. I could see him coming north next fall if he can't land his next NFL roster spot.
  12. hopefully they test this way because it can't be worse than watching Burris throw for 300 in a half.
  13. http://cfl.uploads.mrx.ca/wpg/pdf/depth/2015/Depth_vs_Ottawa_Oct_24102533.pdf Peach back starting in his regular spot. Also Mackey (added to practice roster on Oct 6) comes on the roster and starts. Anderson doesn't have a single sack this year so hopefully Mackey can help with some early pressure on Burris.
  14. Yet our other quarterbacks have on field issues and get to stay.
  15. I happened to be in BC on business and was at this game. I was row 1 and was shaking hands with Fred Reid when he was announced as the Gladiator on TSN. Then went to shark club and some of the players came in as it was the lead in to their bye week. We actually showed Obby the rushing stats on a phone and he had no idea just how big the rushing yards were. The next morning at the airport I was in line behind Mike Kelly going through security. Great memories!
  16. He's never been an OC or DC.but we keep losing by specialty teams. We lack everything least of which isn't a HC.
  17. To switch up from the football operations hate, what do you think of this? The Bomber website and PA announcer always reference 50/50 draws in support of amateur football in Manitoba and specifically Football Manitoba. By my calculations, they took in $826,070 last year so paid out $413,035 to the winners. From their annual report, they gave $120,000 to the Winnipeg Rifles and $80,256 to Football MB. Yes, it appears less than 10% of the take actually goes to the organization they say it is in support of. Total donations are then $200,256 which leaves $212,779 unaccounted for. I'm sure they have service fees but over $200k seems like a stretch. Here's a link to the site that has all the draw information. http://fifty.pointstreak.com/draws.html?searchterm=Winnipeg+Blue+Bombers&submit=SEARCH This link seems to miss the Toronto season opener last year which was $64,505 if you look further for it. As a season ticket holder and someone that has had kids in Football Manitoba programs for a number of years, this bothers me.
