Given that we gave up our first rounder, the Riders second rounder IS a first rounder.

Wow...The Riders second rounder will likely be the 10th overall pick...almost like a first round pick.

Brown and O'Shea were rivals on the field and when Brown was playing and O'Shea was a special teams coordinator. I seem to think that more than once O'Sheas specials teams would come up with a play to beat the Bombers as well which likely makes Brown dislike him. As a player Brown was great, as a media guy he is a bit full of himself and comes across as too much of a know it all. Plus this thing he does where he tries to show off his vocabulary and make every statement as wordy as possible bothers me. Reeks of a guy trying to sound smarter than he is.

If you think Bomber fans take losses well I don't know what to tell you. The coach doesn't need to appease fans in the media, the only way a coach can truly appease fans is to win games. I mean there are a lot of things I'd be disappointed in a coach blabbing about in the media. How he disciplines players is one of them. People have these crazy expectations of what a coach is going to say. Times have changed, with how quickly information gets spread around without any kind of context or source checking everyone has to walk on eggshells. You don't hear any other coaches in the CFL saying much more. Chamblin did but he was clearly in a save his own ass mentality since he was sensing that the noose was tightening around his neck.

I still believe Mike O'Shea is a good head coach. I believe he is dealing with a terrible offensive coordinator and a lack of talent and depth in some areas. Now we can talk about how he should have fired Bellefeuille in the offseason, but it's not always as easy as that. The Bombers are fighting a stigma about being a coaching graveyard and firing even more coaches doesn't help shed that stigma. For that reason I'd give O'Shea more time, but my patience with Bellefool is over. It was over last year but this year he's gotta go for sure or it'll cost everyone their jobs.

I like this move but Bellefeuille still needs to go.  Bombers have allowed 3 punt returns for TD’s this season.  The rest of the league has allowed a combined total of 4 punt return TD’s.

This shows some growth from MOS and puts Bellefeuille on notice.  We now have two competent coordinators in Hall and O’Shea.   Replace Bellefeuille with a young innovative CFL mind and we’re in good shape.

Brohm wasn't the problem tho. Our OC calling predictable plays is. Running backs get all off 10 carries combined. Ray BLM willy Marve Brohm is irrelevant if the play calling sucks

I don't hold out much hope of signing Muamba.  Not because we wont be competitive with our offer.  But I believe he'll give strong consideration to the eastern based teams so he could play closer to family.

I hope I'm wrong but I just have a gut feeling that I'm right.

Note to Iso...If Walter's isn't successful.  It also means that 7 other GM's couldn't get it done either.   So give up on your personal vendetta against the guy.

Montreal's starting offensive guards right now were drafted in 2010 and 2011 respectively and didn't end up starting for Montreal until this year.
Take the best player and if you have to wait then you have to wait. The CFL draft is about long term success and I cringe every time the Bombers approach the draft saying "We need impact players right now."

This is depressing, but not as depressing as reading some of the posts in this thread. The BB spent big money and draft picks in attempt to upgrade the oline. It hasn't worked out but the attempt was made. The coaches take some blame as well for scheme issues that contribute to the problem.

If three bad things happen to start the game, the team should quit.  Walk off the field.  That is the Bombers I want to see.

Change of pace was totally in order.  Watching Willy come in and march the ball for a touchdown to start the 3rd Q sends the wrong message to the team, and as a fan, that is not what I wanted to see.

I've disagreed with a lot of Harper's policies over the years, but on the whole I still think he was the better choice than who he was up against in 2011. I think Jack Layton should have disclosed he was dying, as it would have affected the polls significantly, and it should have. If he had disclosed that there was a good chance he wasn't going to be around within six months after the election the NDP might have been spanked down a lot, especially in Quebec.
Anyway, that aside, one of the worst moves Harper made in my opinion was lowering the GST. If he had kept it at 7% instead of 5%, we'd have $14 billion more in tax revenue coming in right now that would erase a lot of deficits and pay for a lot of programs, especially veterans, who get a raw deal, no matter who is in government. I wouldn't mind if the NDP raised the GST by a point, if it meant they stopped mucking around with corporate tax rates. Don't fix what isn't broken NDP, especially considering the NDP know almost nothing about corporate entities, or economics for that matter.

When people are content, they don't speak up.  It's when they are frustrated that they raise their voice.  It's just human nature.

If I recall correctly, the pass to Richards was not a well thrown ball, which is why Richards was laying on the turf to catch it.  It did hit his hands though, so he should have had it.

Watching Brohm out there was frustrating.  I wanted to see Marve as well and could not understand why they where not putting him in.

But, if Marve was hurt then that would explain it.

With the offense's lack of effectiveness in the game, it was only a matter of time until the Esks broke away and ran off with the game. Willy's departure was simply a marker as to when the landslide began, and it sure as spit looks like the team has ZERO confidence in Brohm. If that is the case, it is only a matter of time, if it hasn't happened already, that that attitude spreads into disrespecting the coaching staff and we have the Burke/Kelly/Reinbold/Crowton eras all over again.

I wasnt impressed after the teaser but I am now.

DC is playing catch-up big time and I think they have screwed a lot up.  Given the choice between giving Snyder the ball and making Man of Steel the DC Universe template versus Nolen and the Dark Knight, they made the wrong choice.

Just like with Star Trek and Terminator, the mistake in wiping out an entire series of films (in this case the Batman Begins trilogy) is a mistake.  The idea that Ben Affleck is an aged Batman doesnt ring true to me.  Dye his hair grey, sure, but who considered Affleck an "older" actor?  Man of Steel was awful.

The fact DC TV and films wont have any continuity and will, in fact, contradict each other is such a terrible idea.  Short sighted.

On the flip side, DC isnt doing "origins".  They dont have time, being so far behind Marvel.  The benefit DC has is that their heroes are more "iconic" so everyone knows many of the origins.  And it appears they will reference Batman's parents' deaths anyway.

I think Affleck looks great as Batman/Bruce Wayne.  And the movie looks good.

wpgallday1960 got a reaction from The Unknown Poster in Confederate Flag
for your information, I've long held the belief that the confederate flag is a racist symbol and over the years come to see the point of view over the Redskins name, despite my early resistance.  I would hardly call that "groupthink" and you can drop the snarky attitude.
I wouldn't call for a ban of "Dukes of Hazzard" as that would be going too far and it wasn't a racist show to my recollection.  Banning the flag from officially flying at the state capital is more of what I mean, not banning every reference.
My change comment was more directed at past practices that weren't thought of as racist at the time but in a new era where we consider peoples opinions who may have been the victim of these practices, they now may be considered inappropriate.  things like the "sixties scoop" or residential schools - the confederate flag should be looked on in a new light.
Quite frankly you don't have to be an ******* about it.
