The reason for the inexperience is due to the fact the HC wasted the last seven weeks using a has been hobo to take second reps. Marve comes in as a rookie with not much chemistry with the guys he has to work with. I'm not too sure what O'Shea meant when talking of Marve being outside the system but let's just hope Brohm is done here.

I am a Marve fanbois for sure, and I am happy to see him finally get his shot.  I just hope that all of those here who have been praying for him to fail and fall on his face aren't rewarded, and also that we don't give up on him too quickly, in favour of the next flavor of the month back-up.
 
I also don't want to see Marve pulled too early if he struggles, just to watch cement shoes tank and the entire team fall apart.

I wish we'd have gone after Rene Curran & signed him instead of this assinine  "We have to play a Canadian at MLB" mentality. Your MLB sets the tone for the rest of the defense. if he's soft then the rest of the defense is soft. What we have now isn't good enough. If Curran's out there still available we need to bring him in. Pay him & be done with it.

Pass interference in general is so poorly applied, inconsistent.  They need to make it really simple.  If a DB is not playing the ball, has no idea where the ball is, facing the other direction, any contact needs to be flagged.  If a DB is playing the ball, some contact should be allowed with consideration to timing of the arrival of the pass.
 
Obviously it's never going to be purely black and white, but they need to move the needle in that direction.

Some times you get into a battle and realize rather quickly it's a hopeless case because you are out gunned and out maneuvered. Either you do the brave thing and sacrifice your trusty captain or you pull him to safety to fight again. You might have lost the battle but now we most likely have lost the war. Before he got his last shot it had become apparent nothing good was going to happen to him. These guys were coming at him untouched and that was not going to change.

The optomism of the preseason: Yeah Picard will get dirty so Willy doesn't have to take clean hits. The O Line isn't made of feathers anymore it is made of muscle and money. Willy won't get dirty and hard hits every game. Wow those bubbles have popped pretty well.
 
There has to be a way to neutralize a defense that blitzes so much. There should be a way to take advantage of that. There should be lots of open areas for dump off's. That first game seems a long, long time ago now. 

No matter how Willy will be I don't think it would be good to talk about a new regime. However, it's bloody well time to talk about the responsibility these coaches and players have to prepare and play better in protecting him.

And if your crew has a 800HP Hemi in the garage and refuse to use it then you deserve to lose. The guy who decided a passing game was the way to go should be the one on the block.

I know I keep bringing up John Chick but I'm shocked at how fast his game has regressed. To the point that if he ever was available for the Bombers, I wouldn't want him. The guy has become totally irrelevant as a player. He's just playing to get paid now & probably wondering when the gravy train comes to an end. Any rebuild would have to involve his release in order to get younger & take his contract off the books.
