Im no athlete and I assume different athletes respond to different things but Im not sure coddling someone and telling them they're good and wonderful and will bounce back is more effective then telling them to get their head screwed on right or they will be replaced.  If a pro athlete cant mentally handle the idea of being replaced, he's probably in the wrong business.

Still 13 points left on the board. Unacceptable. Whyte goes 3/3 with a 53 yard field goal goal to win the game. Why can't we get that consistency? You pay the kickers to kick 1/5 and a missed convert isn't close to good enough.

You know what.. It doesn't bother me that we haven't won a Grey Cup in twenty four years, what bothers me is that we havent even been remotely competitive in the past eleven seasons. We've had two winning seasons in those eleven years, and in those two winning seasons we had 10 wins. a 10 win football club is an average team in my eyes and we've barely even hit that level of mediocrity.

Arnold_Palmer got a reaction from TBURGESS in Brohm to start LDC?
It's so funny because hindsight is 50/50. Prior to this season starting Brohm was almost universally praised for being a solid back up based on his play last season and there was even some discussion whether or not he was going to be in the NFL. Marve was thought of as being a future starter in this league, largely based on his win in Calgary last year. Both quarterbacks looked good last season, and the general consensus out of training camp was that we were set at the quarterback position. Obviously this season Brohm has looked terrible, and Marve not much better but no one felt uncomfortable about either of those guys backing up Willy coming into the season.

Per #CFL sources: The BC Lions are out of the Shawn Lemon sweepstakes. Down to Winnipeg and Ottawa.

We don't have a running back that is remotely close to as good as Charles Roberts was. The guy was truly special to watch. Heck we don't even have a quarterback that can throw right now to keep the defence honest.

Lack of adjustments, and undisciplined penalties for a team coming off a bye week, playing at home is completely unacceptable.

I didn't think the Bomber o-line played particularly well but Marve's pocket presence is a huge work in progress and quite frankly it makes the Bomber o-line look worse then it actually is. Whenever the pocket even started to collapse Marve would put his head down and start moving around. The difference between a decently mobile quarterback like BLM and Marve is that BLM is constantly looking for his read and target, even when he's forced to move the pocket, or run out of the pocket.

I think a lot of people remembered Dominic Picards talents from 2008, and not 2014's performance. I'm fine with having him here this year. I don't think he's as bad as some people are making him out to be. One thing for certain though he isn't worth what he's making. Hopefully he wont be back next year.

He does get picked on but in his defense he holds his ground. He's extremely athletic and is a good tackler. Only problem is he still gets burned too much.

An undisciplined football team is a team that takes too many penalties. That's a reflection of the head coach. If you're taking a foolish penalty it's up to the coach to ensure it doesn't happen repeatedly.

It's nice for us to roll with four import receivers. Shows how much we've improved the last two seasons with Canadian depth and talent for us to be able to comfortably be doing that.

Just to show how much Gretzky dominated his peers..

Everyone who won an NHL scoring title by more than 15% is included in the following table:

    year player margin percentage 1987 Wayne Gretzky 183-108 41.0 1984 Wayne Gretzky 205-126 38.5 1983 Wayne Gretzky 196-124 36.7 1985 Wayne Gretzky 208-135 35.1 1986 Wayne Gretzky 212-141 34.4 1982 Wayne Gretzky 212-147 30.7 1941 Bill Cowley 62-44 29.0 1953 Gordie Howe 95-71 25.3 1928 Howie Morenz 51-39 23.5 1951 Gordie Howe 86-66 23.3 1973 Phil Esposito 130-104 20.0 1952 Gordie Howe 86-69 19.8 1991 Wayne Gretzky 163-131 19.6 1966 Bobby Hull 97-78 19.6 1981 Wayne Gretzky 164-135 17.7 1967 Stan Mikita 97-80 17.5 1935 Charlie Conacher 57-47 17.5 1970 Bobby Orr 120-99 17.5 1954 Gordie Howe 81-67 17.3 1940 Milt Schmidt 52-43 17.3 2014 Sidney Crosby 104-87 16.3 1974 Phil Esposito 145-122 15.9 1999 Jaromir Jagr 127-107 15.7 1989 Mario Lemieux 199-168 15.6 1922 Punch Broadbent 46-39 15.2 1919 Newsy Lalonde 33-28 15.2 1930 Cooney Weiland 73-62 15.1 1969 Phil Esposito 126-107 15.1
    Notes:
8 of Gretzky's 10 Art Rosses were by more than 15% 4 of Howe's 6 Art Rosses were by more than 15% 3 of Esposito's 5 Art Rosses were by more than 15% One-timers before World War 2: Cowley, Morenz, Conacher, Schmidt, Broadbent, Lalonde, Weiland One-timers after World War 2: Hull, Mikita, Orr, Jagr, Lemieux It was obviously easier to lead the league by a higher percentage before WW2, when the seasons were shorter and seasonal totals were lower. Lemieux won 6 Art Rosses, but only 1 by a 15%+ margin. Two reasons: Gretzky & injuries. Teammates who led the league in scoring by wide margins in back-to-back years: Schmidt/Cowley, Hull/Mikita, Orr/Esposito

Lidstrom played against Lemieux when Lemieux was in his prime. He didn't get to play against 80's Gretzky. Gretzky is the best player of all time, if you want to make the point of Lemieux being the better player in the 90's then yes thats probably true, but Gretzky dominated the game like few others in professional sports ever have.
