The Bochniak/ Barzola decision puzzled me a bit how could 1 judge see the 30-27 for Barzola and the other 2 see it 29-28 for Bochniak, i'm not gonna pretend to know how to score a fight but were they watching the same fight.
Judges often see fights very differently just based on where they are sitting. 3 completely different angles means, depending on where the action, your view can be perfect or it can mean you don't see jack. Rule of thumb for judges is if you don't see it, it didn't happen so splits like that in fairly close fights arent super uncommon.

Youz guys are just jealous of transcona. Winnipeg would be nothing without Transcona. Youz guys are just jealous of flamingos. Everyone wants flamingos like transcona. In fact there's a conspiracy to steal flamingos from transcona. Your jealous of the sportscasters from transcona.

Important to note: Rod Pedersen is not a reporter....
This. He is a columnist who writes terrible opinion pieces.
Fwiw, i've met him at a few non-Rider related events and he still comes off as a d-bag even when he's not worrying about conspiracies.

No Joe always said half guard. Randy was well known for preferring it because of the control it gave him on his opponents hips.
He would mention couture when a fighter decided to hang out in half guard rather than try to pass to side control because that's what randy did.

Yeah he has. Have you heard randy couture prefers side mount? LOL
Couture prefers half guard actually.

I guess for a guy like me, probably a wee bit younger than a few of you guys here, i guess i just don't have the same attachment, I guess some of you might say the same if i mentioned bands like Nirvana or even Bad Religion or Blind Melon.
If you had been a fan of the Hip you could have been one of 40ish people who saw Nirvana open for them back in 1989!
Saw this on Twitter and thought it was neat.

He tweeted out something before the final - I cant recall off the top of my head but something about past leaders so it was a cool sense of continuity when he used all their finishers, Goto kicked out and eventually lost to Kenny's finisher. Sort of subtly saying he's surpassed them.
I listened to Meltzer discuss it and he had not always been a huge Omega fan in the past but he said who is better then Kenny right now, anywhere in the world? He said Kenny is the best wrestler in the world right now and has surpassed AJ Styles. He actually even mentioned HBK ten years ago and Kobashi when talking about him so he's high on him now!
A lot of debate about whether Omega stays with New Japan another year or not. The IWGP title might be the enticement to keep him a bit longer.
Balor looks like he might agree with this. He posted a congrats message to Kenny, saying he's not just carrying the torch for the Bullet club but he's raising the bar.
I wonder what Jim Cornette thinks of Kenny now?
-
Of the 2, the match with Naito was better (imo) but both were great. I liked Kenny using some of Balor, Styles, & Ibushi's moves against Goto though, it was a nice nod to the former leaders of Bullet Club and his former partner.
He's cut promos in Japanese before so it wasn't a shock to me, maybe just people who haven't followed him that closely?
-
Oh my god, they killed Kenny! **said in a Joey Styles voice**
I finished watching his last 2 matches of the G1 and they were fantastic (especially 2 semi-finals with Naito). Now he has to stayed undefeated until January!

"And that’s when, as fate would have it, then Bombers GM Brendan Taman pulled off one of the greatest trades in club history by dealing their first-round pick in 2002 (Jon Oosterhuis, who would end up playing his entire career with the Bombers) and a third-round pick in 2003 for Brown."

No gaijin has ever won the G1 before so it'll be interesting to see if Omega goes over.

I agree if anyone is getting paid it will get bad. I also acknowledge Dunk is a idiot and not reliable to report on anything. There are a lot of people that love thinking the worst about the riders and I get that.
I had thought you were slightly different than most Rider fans until this. If you don't think Dunk is credible, you should stick to drinking up Rod Pedersen's green kool aid.

I think the Riders believe its still training camp;
If you read the replies to Mccormick's tweet, even rider fans knew there was something going on with extra players. One tweet (which went out before BLM tweeted about it) says as much.

It might not have Ritter or Mack, but a grown-up Thurman Merman is back for the sequel. Some of his scenes with Billy Bob still crack me up.
-
I feel the same way but I'll still watch the sequel. I just have zero expectations that it will be anywhere near as good as the first.

The lobotomy must have gone better than expected.... it actually gave him a personality instead of taking one away.

I think drinking is right up there too.

The game neither team wants to win because it means the "winner" takes on either the US or France while the "loser" gets Sweden or Brazil.

Add another bronze to the list.
