  1. Mine is not going to as many games as I should have when I was younger.  I always followed the team and kinda knew what was going on but I didn't really start going to a lot of games until about 10-12 years ago. So while I got to see Milt, Khari & Charlie in their prime, I have very few memories of seeing guys like Battle, West, Reaves, etc (way too many to name) playing live.

  2. I couldn't watch the game, had to make do with CJOB.  How did the Oline look?  Sounds like Picard was subpar.  How were the others?  Curious about Neufeld in particular.

Neufeld looked pretty good from what I saw.  He made it through the entire game which is a big win in my opinion.  On our 1st drive, he absolutely rag-dolled the guy he was working against 2 plays in a row, it was pretty fun to watch.

I think the biggest question is, if Willy gets knocked out of the game at some point will the refs miss an obvious penalty on the play for the 3rd time in a row???

I don't know that the Willy injury against Edm was an "obvious penalty"... but I did point out during the game that Jake Thomas got called for a penalty that was essentially the same type of play...

hit the qb low it's supposed to be a flag and he was obviously hit low.

Very obvious to everyone but the refs.  During the game, Dunigan mentioned that a fine was likely coming, and MOS wouldn't give his thoughts on the hit because he didn't want to get in trouble with the league so I'm surprised we haven't heard of any punishment for Eddie Steele.

Another hot-button topic for discussion. Below is an article about a Gun Restraining Order program. Seems to be a wise idea within a culture that simply wont ban guns.

Since its nearing election time in the US, this is now an election issue with one candidate (was it Walker?) suggesting if everyone else in the theatre was also armed, this wouldnt happen.

As Canadians, our opinions will likely lean towards strict gun control. What do you think?

I really don't get this kind of thinking. Having more armed people in the theatre would have done nothing but let more bullets fly (IMO). The gunman ambushed those people, so he was getting off shots before people had a chance to do react regardless. He might not have died by his own hand if there were other guns, but the end result would still have been the same.

After a couple of these types of shootings, I'm surprised there haven't been increases in security at theatres... metal detectors at the very least. At least there hasn't been increases up here, they may have done that down south.

Exactly. One guy starts shooting, and then you pull out your gun in a dark theater and start shooting back, and you can't see well, so you start shooting at what you think is the guy and end up hitting an innocent bystander.

There are many cases were armed citizens have thwarted robberies and such.

You can't compare a robbery with a sneak attack though.  The gunman isn't standing there pointing a gun & demanding money, he's standing up in the dark & opening fire on people glued to a giant screen.  Unless you are psychic, you aren't stopping that.  At best, you're returning fire AFTER he's already started shooting.

Care to explain how Jeff Fuller ended up in Calgary when he was on our neg list or how Cato ended up in Montreal and not Saskatchewan?  Those aren't stories, those are facts and they are recent examples of rookies looking for work yet rejecting the teams who held their rights.

Typical.  Make up a story from your imagination.  Say it's happened before in other places with other players and other GM's.  Then try to change the conversation from 'Nice Story but you got no facts' to 'Why did it happen before then'. It's your story, so it's up to you to prove it happened, not up to others to prove it didn't happen.

BTW: Franklin emailing teams trying to get a shot makes it very unlikely that your story is true.

LOL typical how?  Show me one post where I've made something up from my imagination.

Where is your proof Franklin was emailing teams?  If you're using Mike's post a proof then I will back my post up with this.

Just thought this was worth mentioning ...

For all this talk about how bad our team is and if we're really right for assuming the staff is the issue, all that discussion as to whether the problem is the staff or the players ...

There are now three players on other rosters in the CFL who were originally on our negotiation list but refused to play for this franchise because of apprehension due to the current staff that is in place.

DE Eric Norwood on Hamilton, good rotational guy in his first CFL season. Very Kenny Mainor-esque.

WR Jeff Fuller on Calgary, I'm sure we'd love to have a 6'4" receiver going across the middle like this guy has so far

DE Aaron Maybin on Toronto, waited almost two years for this guy to show an interest in the CFL and then when he finally did, he said "sure, but not in Winnipeg" and now the former first round NFL pick is in Toronto

  7. I remember Mike posting that Franklin was on our Neg list before when I suggest we pluck him off of Edmonton's PR back in week 1. Considering our current backup QB's, letting Franklin go from the Neg List is a bit of a facepalm moment.

They may not have had a choice.  He may have pulled a Jeff Fuller and told the Bombers he had no intentions of signing here, in which case they are required to drop him from the neg list.  That's also how Cato ended up in Montreal.

So you really have nothing to add about the story, just here to complain about people discussing the story? At what point are we allowed to discuss a major news item?

And I'm not disagreeing with some of what you're saying. I just think you clearly have a view about the story and would like to hear it.

No one was in that cell with her so we can never know the entire story. Maybe when the investigation results come out and likely show it was suicide. But we can judge the traffic stop exchange from the video. Very sad situation that obviously didn't need to happen.

Why would I have something to add to a story that I have no facts on? I should just guess like the rest of you that weren't there and didn't have to deal with the situation, or make a comment like "the cops killed her" That's the one that really got me!

Did you actually read the thread before you went off on your rant?  There was one, let me repeat, one post that said it was obvious that the cops killed her.  You called out TUP for starting controversial threads, yet his reply to that post was basically what you are saying, that the facts are not there to support a statement like that.

  9. can someone do me a solid and post it as a pic, Can't get the link to work on my office PC

I can't get the pic to post no matter what browser I use (Firefox, Chrome or IE), they all say I'm not allowed to post that kind of file which is odd because it's just a jpeg.

Here's a link to a PDF version so maybe that one will work for you.
