If I understand correctly king Robert loved liana and blamed the mad King for her death prompting the uprising and ofcourse getting the Starks involved.

Liana knew Robert would kill Jon if he knew the truth so Ned had to hide Jon in plain sight by claiming he was his bastard child.

The saga title A Song of Fire & Ice would seem to be named for the siblings Jon and Dany, he of the north and she the mother of dragons.

I suspect her dragons will be the difference against the white walkers and Jon will align with her, ruling together or marrying or supporting her position as Queen

There were 3 events that kicked off the rebellion.

    1) Lyana rode off with or was kidnapped (depending on who is telling the story) by Rhaegar so that pissed Robert off because they were engaged to be married.

    2) The Mad king killed Ned's father & older brother when they came looking for Lyana.

    3) The Mad king ordered Jon Arryn to kill his Ned & Robert (who he pretty much raised as Wards of the Vale).  Arryn refused and rose up with Ned & Robert.

Yeah, Jon Snow is the son of the old mad king Rhegar Targaryean, Dany's father, the one who was killed by Jaime the Kingslayer

Jon's mother is Liana Stark, Ned's sister.

Close but not quite.  Jon is the grandson of the Mad King (Aerys) not his son.  His dad was Rhaegar, the prince & heir to the iron throne.  Rhaegar was the older brother of Dany, making Jon her nephew.

  3. Bran is one option.  When he got touched by the Night's King, that let them pass through the magic in the 3 eyed Raven's cave.  The same magic is in the wall.

The other option they have (and I don't think it's been mentioned in the show) is that there is supposedly a magic horn somewhere north of the wall that has the power to bring the wall crashing down.  In the books, Mance Rayder says he has it and threatens to use it unless Jon Snow lets the wildlings through but it turns out to be a fake & they never found the real one so maybe the white walkers have it?

  4. They can go a couple ways with Jamie.  If he dies, I think it'll be at Brienne's hands (based on the "next time we see other it will be on the battlefield" thing they did at river run a couple episodes ago.  But if Tyrion is able to convince Danny to let him live, it might be as the newest member of the nights watch (assuming it's still needed after the fight against the white walkers).  My money is on him getting killed though.

  5. As far as how abruptly they ended that storyline goes, that's part of their M.O.

The war of the 5 kings sure ended abruptly with the red wedding  (maybe not officially since Stannis & greyjoy were still around).  Ned stark's time on the show was ended rather quickly too!

Cercei did say she chooses violence so it was definitely coming to a head.

So, he pisses off the EU. The man is a total  jackass.

What makes him clueless in this case is that the Scots wanted to stay in the EU but he's tweeting like they got their wish.  Scotland will most likely have another independence referendum because of Brexit.

Considering St. John is pretty close to a wasted draft pick I'd take that deal if I was Jones.  Franklin could save their butts this year if Durant goes down, and Sask. would also be the right place, right time destination for Franklin to take over the starting QB role in a year or two.

Franklin is also a free agent at the end of the year so that's a high price to pay for someone who could bolt at the end of the year (I'm sure Montreal would be willing to over-spend on him).

I think it was brought up on riderfans by mike or IMWT but they nailed it when it came to montreal,  a good starting 24, but a hot mess for depth.  as long as they stay relatively healthy,  I dont think theres a chance in hell they are worse then the riders.  the riders have a couple good players but i think over all they are still lacking in both starters and depth, and it wouldnt be a stretch to think DD's time in sask is coming to an end.

Montreal is also the oldest team in the league... staying healthy with no depth might be a lot to ask.

  9. Punk's marketability and cross-over appeal is pretty much limited to wrestling fans though and a good number of those fans already watch mma.  He never achieved Hogan or Rocky type cross-over into mainstream media & he has no other athletic achievements to fall back on.  He might move the needle a little bit but it's not going to be record breaking by any stretch of the imagination.

Somehow, these things manage to get pulled together in time.  But this one is looking rough.

Yep, people thought Sochi was going to be a gong-show as well (and it did have it's moments) but this one looks like it's on a whole different level.

The Russian athletes might have lucked out by getting banned for this one!

  11. That's assuming that he does a full camp like a real fighter would.  Wouldn't be surprised if they eased up on the intensity, just so Punk could make it to fight day, given his history of injuries.

If/when he does fight, he'll be a one fight wonder... too old, too beat-up, too raw.
