Jovon Johnson - i think he's in the bubble with Banks here now. Banks can provide that leadership in the secondary.
Chris Cvetkovic - we have Wild and Fitz who can do LS but also have a different position in the team. I think it's a waste of spot.
Will Ford - not coming back. i like his return skills more than his rb skills, although we still have Woods.
Andre Douglas - with Jones and Knapp, and possibly Bombers switching to 4 NI, he'll be in tough.
Kenny Mainor - he inherited the stupidpenalti-sitis of Willis.
Chad Simpson - i think he's not coming back
Dan West - no comment

Etienne is useless IMO.  He's not a starter (especially in Sask with Getz and Bagg) and is completely uselss on special Teams.  No loss at all.
Jade was never going to be anything here.  I'd take Foster back over Harry Potter Etienne anyday.

i dont mind Etienne if we can get Foster back. we need another physical receiver aside from Watson.

As long as he does not take out Watson in practice Bucknor right there is a upgrade.

Well, obviously the the GM and the HC has not given up on Poblah / Etienne yet.

Remember though, O'shea will have an input on D also. He might put some wrinkles on Stubler's D that the latter haven't thought before.

BC Lions have called a 2 p.m. news conference Thursday to announce former Defensive Backs Coach Mark Washington has been promoted to the Defensive Coordinator.

Washington has been with the team since 2007 and will replace Rich Stubler who left for Winnipeg over the weekend.

I don't think it's fair for you to expect Stubler to be interested in your life, especially while he's working.

i recall, on the Kyle Walters announcement presser, Wade said going forward it will be Kyle facing the media.

I can guarantee you, if you manage your cap properly, you could easily sign Dressler, Henoc, Collaros and Andrew Harris. And field a competitive team with them on it.
 
It's not one or the other. A 200k salary (which is probably the average of what these guys will earn) is like 4.5% of your cap. Consider for a moment that the average CFL salary is around 1.2% of the cap, you have PLENTY of room for big name players on a squad.

I like what Walters had to say too.  I hope he can follow through with it.  I don't expect the fans to give him much leeway, just because he is new to the GM chair.  The fans expect a winning team and that's Walters job to create.  Getting to a .500 season next year would be a huge win for the all rookie management team IMHO.

Simply put, what you want does not exist. Also, your criteria for what makes a good coach and what does not is faulty. I don't care if a guy has experience in the CFL as an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator or coordinator of the dietary concerns for vegan defensive backs. It simply does not matter.
 
There is a reason why a guy like Pinball can retire and go straight to a head coaching position and it works while a guy like Burke with an absolutely sparkling resume as a coordinator falls short. It is not about your experience with playbooks or schemes. Above everything else, you have to be a leader and a manager of people. Experience in the CFL to be aware of the game and it's intricacies is important and a requirement no doubt, but it simply does not matter where that experience is from to me. If a guy can lead, he can lead. If he can't, he can't. The chain of development for a head coach is not like a quarterback where you move from 3rd string (positional coach) to 2nd string (coordinator) to starter (head coach), you either have the ability to lead or you do not.

Give me a break with your witch hunt. He's going to be the team conditioning guy, not the assistant GM, and optics aside he's a great hire.
Who cares who hires the person for that role whether it's Miller, Walters or the Queen of England

I don't see anything wrong with that.  If Miller / Walters can name their whole staff day/s after the GC only proves that they been diligently working on it since their season ended which is contrary to what the others are saying that they are doing nothing.

if the Bombers couldnt bring in Wylie I wouldnt mind him as OL coach.
