You are entitled to your opinion, however, I think that you will not find too many people who agree with it. I think this is more an opinion based in personal bias than in actual reality. No offense intended towards you, we all have players we have an irrational disdain for.

Statistically, Messam is the better special teams player.  Volny had 2 special teams tackles last year which is the same number as Messam had.  Messam also had a kick return and Volny had none.  Neither is a special teams ace. 
 
Volny had 3 carries for 5 yards last year.   His career total is 39 yards.  He's also got 48 yards in receiving and he's got fumble problems.  So no, he hasn't been effective in his limited reps.  
Messam had 121 carries for 565 yards last year.  His career total is 1882 yards.  He's also got 698 yards in receiving.  The difference is hugely in Messam's favour.
 
 Messam is more expensive because he's worth more than Volny.  
 
Sask/Cgy/Mtl all thought Messam was worth a look.  Wpg didn't.  That's the reason he's not here.

Willis ran through Collaros throwing his shoulder. The resulting follow through is where Willis left his feet and contacted Collaros's helmet.
He did not lead with his helmet.
 
And if there is a resulting fine, well so be it, but to say that play should have been flagged is questionable as it happened so fast and Willis was shown and said to have led with his shoulder.

Guys got to remember a few things about Grigsby though. He was fighting through injuries during camp according to OShea... And he was also out of football for a while before he came up here. He's probably been rusty as well as trying to get into the kind of shape he was in during his pro day.
Looks like he got his speed back Thursday. He is bigger and stronger than Cotton, he just needs to use his body to its full potential.

With a 16-0 record, and a points for and against of +350, the Bombers still look for that elusive ability to finish games by half time. Brian Brohm hasn't been able to get into the game at any point this season before the end of the third quarter. Aaron Kelly seems to be stagnating, with only 30 TD's so far, not able to keep the two TD a game pace he'd been setting earlier in the season. Drew Willy's play has been lagging of late, with only three TD's and 295 yards of passing in his last outing against Edmonton, where the Bombers barely pulled off a 48 - 12 squeaker against Edmonton. The Bomber defence got really lucky that Mike Reilly threw three pick sixes and also fumbled four times. The O-line also struggled, giving up one whole sack against the vaunted Eskimo D-line; granted it was in the last minute of the 4th quarter, when the team water boy was brought in to play left tackle due to Mike O'Shea losing a bet to Bob Wylie. Still, the Bombers still seem to only slightly be improving over last year, and the 10-6 Stamps should dominate them thoroughly this week.

There's a lot of room for members in the Drew Willy fan club. I'll just reserve my role as founder/president.

On another note, Burris is gonna get sacked a dozen times !

I look forward to seeing this Bombers D vs Reilly.  As long as they don't let him run/scramble for 150 yards it could be a big day for them.  He's not diagnosing anything pre-snap, even against more basic defenses, so that gives the D that extra second to get to him, along with his tendency to try to extend plays all the time and their crap OL.  They don't appear to have much of a run game outside of Reilly either.
 
I'm not reading too much into this result.  Glenn turned the ball over, that was the real difference in the game, and Edmonton still barely managed to pull it out.  He won't be giving it away like that very often.

It's one game folks.  Glenn threw a stupid across his body ball into the endzone that got picked off, then he just lost it.  He'd been playing pretty well before that.  The last INT didn't matter.  The game was already over.  If he'd connected in the endzone on his second last ball, which was very close, he'd be a hero not a zero.  If we'd had Glenn all these years instead of the parade of bad and oft injured QB's, we'd have had much better seasons.

Great advice. If only we were all content with not wanting to improve our careers we'd really be onto something...

I was impressed with O'Sheas HCing calls... We all know Tim Burke would have messed up that call when O'Shea declined the offside because it was change of possession... Actually I'm pretty sure Burkes head would have exploded from confusion.

That's usually a fair argument, but having a down year at 33 years old is a little different than having one at 25 or 26. Football players have an expiry, especially ones that rely on speed and physicality like Banks does. I was fine with the move to acquire him because we really didn't know what we had. I'm not saying one week determines what we have either but Sears when healthy has been an excellent player in this league and Dunn brings more tools to the table right now.

As much as I've been hating on Etchevary, I really enjoyed watching his defence last night. Dunn did very well in the "dollar" position and it really seemed like we got a healthy dose of Wild and Kuale. Seemed like they were in there at the right times.
Love that we basically had a 4 man front all night except for a few 3 mans.

They moved the guys around in the front 7 like crazy though, pre-snap too.  I think Turner and Vega lined up in every gap during the course of the game.
 
It's such an advantage for the defense if they can screw with the QB's pre-snap reads nowadays.  Tackling needs to stay strong though.  I was glad to see that because they struggled somewhat in the pre-season, admittedly with a lot of cuts/non-contributors in there.
 
I really like the new additions in the secondary, Randle, Johnson and Leggett especially.  Will be interesting to see what happens with Suber and Banks.  How do you sit one of those guys or someone like Dunn after that game?
